This is a fantastic video. Thanks a ton. What if I want to make an over-under 3D effect? Is there an efficient way of doing this? When I do the obvious and use the gradient tool, each section made by shape-builder is like its piece and I can add a gradient, but it doesn't make the 3D effect of over-under. Someone out there please help.
At timecode 1:31 just after you turn the rectangle grid into guides and assign grid numbers, a second layer just appears with no explanation what so ever. Also, there is no explanation as to how to assign the grid numbers. Without that explanation the tutorial is extremely difficult to follow. Could you please offer some explanation as to what that second layer means and how to assign the grid numbers. Thank you.
My apologies! The second layer is the layer with numbers and letters that I created beforehand. It is there just to help you visualize the process. To assign numbers and letters first open the "Layers" panel and create a new layer (click the "+" icon at the bottom right corner) Next using the "Type Tool" type "1" near the top left square. Select the number you've just created with the Selection Tool (V) and while using the "Shift + Alt/Option" key drag it down to create a copy. Next press the Ctrl/Command +D several times to create more copies. Rename numbers (1-13) and do the same with the letters. Here is my other video where I explain how to copy and paste objects ruclips.net/video/BoCdsTvwBs4/видео.html I hope this will help. Thank you for watching!
