I had a little trouble with your english and couldn't read the numbers on the screen but finally figured out you were saying "4 times the 8" meaning "enter 8 four times" for the preferred DNS server and when you say "two times the four and two times the eight" you mean "4 / 4 / 8 / 8" for alternate DNS server (or was it "two times the eight and two times the four" which would be 8 / 8 / 4 /4). Anyhow, it worked perfectly and I didn't even need to restart steam (much less my PC)! Before I did that, I was online, could see my friends list online, but any games needed to download or update would not do so and would report an error in red text stating I wasn't connected to the internet so THANK YOU for posting a straightforward solution!!

I recently experienced something similar, when I was playing a game on STEAM, my computer's WIFI icon would suddenly disappear and I had to manually reset it every time. After a few months, I finally realized that it is STEAM's own problem, and it has nothing to do with windows and drivers. All you have to do is go to STEAM settings and turn off all the options in the "In-game" section and set the PING to 1500. Problem solved~

Thank you! I had this problem in the past but I alreay did -tcp. If this doesnt work for you here is the tcp method 1. close steam entirely 2. right click steam 3. click properties 4. at the end of target: add a space and type -tcp. 5. click on apply/ok and close that and open steam
Non work for me. when i connect steam using my phone hotspot is work but when i use my other phone hotspot is show no connection. i try but nothing works. SAD LIFE
I tried this and when not only does it not fix it but now I can't do any search on my browser. Everything times out. I also can't login to world of warcraft or even open the site. Everything else opens fine except for battlenet and the games. I thought i could at least play my steam games but no now that is gone too. I think that's a sign to stop gaming.
mine need to log out and log in first. Maybe i loged in by browser, and they cannot process two platform signing in at the same time, so the see me as disconnected in app. After log out and log in back in app, it works properly

Trying to put RF Evolution on my labtop. Got steam installed and put in the code from horizon hobby. I click on my games it says RF Evo. Is in my library but right above the game it says "REMOTE DOWNLOAD STATUS: Unable to reach your PC" What does that mean, how can i fix that?

it didnt work for me either.. i had to uninstall steam and re install..now everything works fine
