Retired Union OPERATOR here 40 yrs. GPS does all the work. BUT THEY'RE NOT ALWAYS RELIABLE. JUST LIKE IN A CAR. AND THEY'RE SLOW. GIVE ME AN EXPERIENCED OPERATOR ANY DAY OVER GPS.
I don't want to be critical but the excavator bucket should be on the ground. It always makes me shudder seeing booms , blades etc suspended in the air.
The GPS system is connected to the machines ECM. The blades hydrolics all electrically controlled by electric over hydrolic joystick. The GPS system is directly connected to computer and has full hydrolic control. The dozer doesn't drive itself or steer itself, it only has full control of the blade.
Don't angle ur blade down hill dirt aint compacted and ull slide down hill. U always wanna keep dirt in front of u and a windrow down hill especially if it's wet

What about an experienced operator with GPS?

I prefer the 6T LGP but the N is ok , hate sitting straight that's all , neck gets sore if you have to look back a ton

n's are a way better rounded machine than a 6 way t. the n has less power but weighs much less. n's float and stick to slopes much better
Lol.... it's a 2-1 you don't just turn around .. plus you always work your cut forward ..

is this like a 2:1 grade. and how does that GPS work. does the blade react itself or do you controle it?
GPS do all by his self....no driver controll needed and at the end the slope will be 1:1,5
