We weren't even high or anything, but we had vapes, we're all underage, and it's a $50 fine if someone underage is caught with nic. We heard sirens and I immediately lied down while the others started climbing down. One of my friends SNITCHED that I was up there (they were still new to the whole "hoodlum" thing and was worried we would get in more trouble if I was hiding. They never saw me, though, and didn't bother to check the roof for more people, so I could have gotten away with staying up there until they were gone. My original plan was that I would find another way down, come around the corner and be like "What the hell!? I was gone for 5 minutes!? What did you do!?" and hope they would play along, but that probably would've turned out worse than it did. In the end, I climbed down, acting scared and like it was my first time dealing with a cop (which it was), and the officer was actually pretty cool and I'm glad I was snitched on. He was all like "Yeah, I know how kids are. You wanna go out and have fun, wanna be rebellious. I've been there." and overall pretty chill. He got our names and had us checked out to make sure we were real. When I told him my last name, he loved it, because I literally have the coolest last name in the world. One of his deputies drove up and they split up our groups and took us home. My mom was watching from the front porch but didn't see that it was me until I got out of the car. The officer told her what happened and she wasn't even mad. And neither was my dad. I'd say it was something I learned from. Never going on a school roof again, though. Note that this happened around 2am. And I think I know exactly who called the cops on us because there's a nurse who lives right next to the school who is very morally strict and old-fashioned. She doesn't usually get home until around 2am. She's really the only person who would be awake at that time to call the police.

I always got into some kind of shenanigans back then. I actually miss my high school because he was the best god damn principal in the world. He quit as an act of defiance a few years ago due to changes the board of education wanted to make to policies about the way certain things were handled. e didn't believe the changes would benefit the students in any way, and that these changes would do more harm than good. Out senior prank we ended up breaking into the high school (somewhat legally) with the keys that the wife of the principal made a duplicate for us for that night and one of his old VW Beetle. She went with us a week and also the day before to inform the local police of the prank and it wasn’t a stolen vehicle so we sent them pictures of the car and where we put it inside the school with removing all the dividing door pieces to fit it through the main hall into the lunchroom. My friends and I was glazed the entire planning of the prank, execution of the prank, and the results of the prank. High schools really just be doing security theater 😂
