  • Guess what!!! I'm finally uploading video podcasts of my show, "Truth Talks with Tara", to my RUclips channel. 😊 You can listen and subscribe on any platform like Apple or Spotify, but for my visual podcasters, I'll be sharing podcast episodes here too and I'm so excited!
For our debut video episode, I'm sharing about the time when I wore pants to church and went viral on an Instagram reel. 😅 We're looking at what God's Word says about what we as women should wear to church, conviction versus preference, modesty, and so much more.

My daughter shared your episode with me as this has been a conversation that we have been having in our family. I really admire how you responded to how people talked to you. Honestly people sometimes think being condescending and name calling is a way that a Christian is supposed to prove a point, and that is sad. So good on you for responding with a bunch of grace. So, here's my thing, I am a little curvy and have been convicted to wear dresses at church and outside of church for the last 8 years or so. I'll tell you why, and this is just my experience. So, I wore pants a few times to church and felt wrong, like just a little too exposed, remember, I'm curvy and this is my experience. So fast forward 5 years and I start to feel this way outside of church too. So, it was as you said, the Holy Spirit led, and I finally surrendered. I love dresses, I love skirts, I wear them every day, and am so glad I do! But with that said I don't condemn, or would I ever condemn any lady who wore pants to church. I'm just thankful that she's there! The only time I might have an issue with is if the dress or pants or whatever outfit their wearing is immodest. I just feel like someone who is wearing immodest clothing is kind of selfish and is trying to take the attention of why we are at church in the first place, which is to focus on God, love each other, uplift each other and equip each other to go out and share the Gospel with those who need Christ.

Thank you @Tara Sun for this video!! I have tried to share this particular verse with some people that I use to attend church with and what I can say is most had a bad attitude and spirit concerning this one verse. I’m free from legalism by God’s grace because he set me free. We were told to follow Christ and not man…

Tara, this was a great video and good explanation of the verse and context around it!
I’m new to your instagram and found this video through insta.
I used to go to a church where girls/ladies could only wear dresses and skirts but as years went by, the dresses and skirts that girls and lady’s wore got tighter and shorter. I started wearing appropriate dress pants to church.
I had a lady tell me that women shouldn’t wear pants to church, but guess what?… this same lady wears tight yoga pants and crop tops and non church days 😊.

Tara this was so well said 💛 I also love hearing you talk on modesty, something that can be so confusing for christian women today! You have encouraged me so much in the way I can talk to younger women about this and even share why I value modesty! 🧡

I find it so interesting that I bet you the same people that talk about what a woman might wear to church.. are the same women who probably have drank, had sex before marriage, or have done other sins. It’s really sad because I don’t think Jesus cares about what outfit you have on. There are women who dress modestly that have the most terrible souls, and ones that may dress more risqué and have a heart that follows Jesus. I do however understand because I usually do wear a dress or skirt to church for my own personal liking. Sometimes I realized at my church that it is very casual and a lot of people come in wearing jeans and T-shirts and personally thats not my favorite thing.. however like it says in the Bible take the speck out of your eye first.

Everybody falls short. Everyone sins. If not so, we wouldn’t need a savior. It is not logical to say or assume that people who point out something in someone else are never sinning. You don’t have to be near perfect yourself to try and teach someone else about a sinful habit or sinful behavior. Otherwise no one could never warn or admonish anyone other than themselves. There are sins of omission and sins of commission. Knowingly doing stuff that’s not right is something entirely different than falling short and sincerely regretting it and repenting. I hope you are blessed with wisdom and loving kindness for yourself and others :)

It seems like God has been coming at my neck recently with conviction and learning to let go of legalism. 🥲🤍
It can be very damaging to friendships amongst believers if you condemn others for things that Jesus hasn’t even condemned them for.
You are encouraging and helping multitudes of Christians learn to acknowledge their heart posture towards Christians wearing pants rather than skirts all the time.
Learning the difference between LAW, it’s application, and conviction is ESSENTIAL in maturing in the Christian faith.
I digress, God bless you Tara. 💓

Thank you for making this podcast episode 🤍 I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of people that don’t leave room for conviction from the Holy Spirit and it’s problematic
