This is intentional. The composition of the verses comes from the perspective of Jaaku King, where the Cures are the shining stars piercing his dark aura. The chorus is set in the Cures’ perspective, where they are focused on bringing light to the land under Jaaku Kong’s miasma.
That is the whole point of the song. The verse paints a gloomy background as if coming from Jaaku Kong’s perspective, then the chorus breaks out of it by a sharply contrasting tune as of coming from Nagisa and Honoka’s perspective. The bridge sounds like a strike if Extreme Luminario Max Spark.
