I agree! This is an anthem. I love Scott’s rasp. They are singing it live on their US leg of their world tour that just started a few nights ago. There some videos posted already, and it sounds amazing live.

You are correct that it’s better on stage because you can hear a better blend and not just a Scott-single. Someone has posted a live version from their recent concert in Florida. Although, tbh, even though this is epic Scott, I probably wouldn’t have “complained” if it had been a Mitch-centered song 😂😁. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Messer’s Velvet. 💜

🌟👉I LOVE Scott's STRONG voice and Matt had a part there too. They have been doing this LIVE on stage! Plus they have a choreo to go with it If this is AMAZING,....LIVE is PHENOMENAL! Plus looks like they are ALL having fun with the choreo 😅
Mitch just seems very happy and I love seeing that plus loving his new music!

It is INCREDIBLE live!! I was at the Jacksonville concert, front row, and was so surprised and honored to be among the first to hear them perform it!
Knowing your affinity for some of Messer's other work, you are really going to love Velvet! I think I can say it's my favorite of his!

Please God, let this be the one that breaks wide on radio! It’s got a monumental vibe, for sure. I like it, and I’m ready for your Measser reaction too! Peace …

I just listened to the FL concert but not a 'Scott' song on stage. You can hear all of them contributing.

I thought the same thing. It sounded like it should be part of Scott Hoying solo songs. I couldn't recognize any of the other members. At one point it even sounded like Avi Kaplan in the background.

Very balanced and nice view on the whole "Scott lead" topic. I agree with you. This song is wonderful and energetic. Not personally in to the whole soldier-motif but it works and I can see it being a good "gateway song" for many of their christmas song fans to listen to their original music.

I hate the solder-motif! I don't think I would have reacted so strongly to it before, but right now the war imagery just makes me really angry and sad and I cannot like this song.

I like the song and it will likely grow on me more but I think they could have traded off lines more to feel more PTX than Scott featuring PTX

Live you say? Here you go - ruclips.net/video/c4HAS9vTJrY/видео.html This is the first time performing it live - not my video, but I was there and I LOVED it. I think it's their best original yet.

Not sure how I feel about this one. It's very hard driving - not a bad thing, just unexpected. Like 'Creep' taken to the extreme. And it totally took me back to "Black and White with Todrick Hall", (to the extreme). I guess the whole number felt very Scott-centric and if that's the direction he wants to go or experiment with in his solo work, more power to him. I just miss the synergy of beautifully blended voices working together and complimenting each other. I miss the beautiful harmonies we've come to expect from PTX. I didn't feel or hear Pentatonix at all in this number.

That was my only complaint too. Scott just put out an entire EP but oh well. Are you going to one of their upcoming shows?

Excellent message! But thats what ptx does. Tries to give messages of empowerment and positivity. Def need this today as the world seems to grow darker and darker. Huge zeppelin fan myself fyi. Fave song Kashmir. Curious have you heard greta van fleet? Sounds so much like robert plant its eerie. If you haven't already check it out.

Not my cup of tea, but even great bands have an "off" occassionally. I agree with a lot of the posters... I'm getting really tired of what feels like Scott and his four background singers. I love Scott, and all of them, and have been a fan since the Sing Off. However, this entire year has felt uneven. The high belting, extended riffs, and grit, works well for one or two songs ... not every song.

While I love Scott's voice, this feels a bit too much like a Scott performance and not a PTX song. Where is the changing off of leads, strong harmonies, wall of sound? Also, it sounds very similar to Avi's song XXX on the Rise (?). I agree with your comments entirely.

The song is ok, but my issue is the left/right sounds too much like Todrick Hall's Black and White that they were in. I RISE seems like a take-off of Katy Perry's RISE. I agree, too much Scott and not enough Pentatonix.

It sounds alright, but it’s too much Scott and not enough Pentatonix. 3 out of 5 stars for me. Hopefully we will get a Pentatonix song next time.

I'm sorry, but some $pon$ors are $pending their inheritance to promote thi$ band.
Listening to Pentatonix is like settling for a dressing gown when you can choose couture or handmade clothes. It's like being delusional about eating BK fries when you can choose a restaurant with chefs.
Pentatonix is a waste of time WITH production TRICKS.
Their musical quality is very low and the vocal harmonies bands - which in the USA seem to be as important as breathing - before the autotune era could be acceptable, but in the rest of the world are anecdotal.
    My scale:
    Pentatonix 3
    Average commercial music 4.5
Fleetwood Mac or Simply Red type bands 7
    Radiohead or Pink Floyd 8
    Geniuses like Prince 9
    Jazz, classical, orchestral 10
This is my opinion as a music lover for more than 40 years: my school was Pink Floyd, Queen, Kraftwerk, Prince. I've always been on the alert for new artists like Massive Attack, Arctic Monkeys, FKA Twigs, Orbital, Samara Joy or Sleaford Mods.
