Your videos, as well as Gregs from HTD, have been a great influence for me the last few years. I appreciate the dedication put into the vids and that dedication has allowed me to come up with some really weird and cool recipes. in turn i have written some of those recipes down and kept them as a way to make my own drinks. I hope you and greg end up do another video together in the future because it's hard to believe that video is 4 years old now. again thanks for all of the dedication to the videos.
Smash style cocktails are very popular here in Brazil. Of course, the Caipirinha is a smash, when you think about it. We use cachaça or vodka as base spirits, smash it with pretty much any tropical fruit or berry we have at hand, and drink it happily on a sunny day outdoors. Cheers!
I really enjoy seeing how drinks are related to each other and what came out of what, especially learning more about the old proto-mixed drinks from the 18th and 19th centuries. It's a good history lesson. Thank you!
Smash cocktails were one of my favourite things to make when I was getting into cocktails. It's a good one switching up spirits and modifying with seasonal fruit easily. I'm also notice a lot of people double strain smashes, but I love a shake and dump with the citrus oils getting stronger as I drink it.
"You want to make sure you that stick it right where the straw is..." Words to live by. I live for every slappy-poo and crushy-pants. Thanks for these recipes - may neither your tootsies nor your mitts ever get cold drinking a delicious libation.
Just a note for anyone tempted to grow mint for cocktails: It is quite easy to grow. HOWEVER, you should absolutely plant it in a pot rather than the ground unless you want to have it all over the place forever. It is a weed - a delicious weed, but still.
Leandro, I worked for BFGoodrich in the corporate office in the 80s and 90s. I was at a cocktail party at which our CEO, John Ong, (who later became ambassador to England,) was in attendance. He was offered a cocktail and a napkin. He refused the napkin, and as an aside to me said, "Real men don't use napkins."
That Madison Park Smash looks incredible. Keep up the amazing work Leandro. Maybe next time, don't do this type of video after having several Highballs.
@@TheEducatedBarfly Whatever makes you happy. I still would love to see the following videos, Zombie variations, Marius making a drink himself and you trying to twek it, and Frankensteining two seperate drinks together. Keep up the amaing content Leandro.
The hand tossing pebble ice in bucket closeups were brilliant! Great work!

The oooolll Slappy Poo(tm) and Crushy Pants(r). Good to see the classics still in practice.
Very interesting! Thanks!
Can you make a video about this "family tree" of cocktails that you mentioned?

Smashes are great drinks. It's my wife's favorite style. I do a gin and strawberry one and a blackberry bourbon one
That walk by transition was slick lol
The last one looks beautiful, I have to make a couple of those when my mint in my garden returns in abundance, it's rather meagre at the moment.

This is a legendary episode.

The last one is an amazing cocktail and I will make it this Summer. Love the thin sliced orange trick
That's a fantastic cocktail with some great info added.
I think all I learned is how much I need a pebble ice machine
As intended. Leandro is basically the pebble ice mafia lol.
Bought one 2 years ago, we use it all the time. Well worth the money!
@@Crazycatsx i have my own ice machine but they are the big bullets. It feels off to own several ice makers
I just buy it by the bag. My grocery store has “regular” ice, pebble ice, and super clear cubes.
SAME

It is a very delicious drink.
Can you do a video on your juicer? I'm having a tough time finding it and how to use it. Thanks!
Everyone should make their RUclips videos when they're buzzing real hard.
Curious how I would handle forgetting some things, and a possible third pebble falling off lol. Laugh hysterically or smash the effing smash.
My boi is litty 😵💫
There is a drink called the Suncoast at the Varnish can you teach how to make that one ?
I wonder if you used rum, you could do a queen’s park swizzle.

“2 person drink” or a one and done! 😛🥳

😂 he was mistaken
He smashy-poo’d but didn’t crushy pants that last mint sprig. I feel so uneven.
2 person drink.....pssssttt I will show that drink 😆

🤣A little more refined you might say. Did you edit out the groan that followed. Ha. 🙂
(3:55) Pinkies
Surely the Madison Park Smash recipe must be for *two* cocktails... right? A full *8 ounces* of 40+% ABV!?😵
Yes it’s a large format for two 😂
*CLACK*
Lemon Trash sounds like some kind of slur lol
Your "tootsies" are your toes.
Tootsies can be fingers too
