A lovely bell and nice to see it had harmonic Simpson tuning.
Its a wonder Taylor's didn't cast it as they specialise in heavy bells and of course Bourdon bells.
I guess though it is significant it was cast here.

Hi Steven - it was done to a Whitechapel design as the Swan bells were tuned and, for the extra bells, cast by Whitechapel.
I'm still trying to get a big Taylor bell swinging in Australia. Let's see.

@@nickpodas5636 I'm assuming that Andrew is Laiths son and so would be very aware of where the bells come from.
That is a lovely sounding bell,.
Some of those European bourdon's sound awful..
Such a waste the 2012 Olympic bell is just hanging at Stratford, there is one bell that ought to be hung for ringing.
It would be amazing I think.

Thanks for the interesting photo gallery, but it's a pity that the sound recording doesn't reflect the potential of the bell optimally. The microphone was too close to the bell and the sound suffers from the hissing mallet noises and is too little profound. The low buzzing tones do not show to advantage. Conclusion: Please make another video with a better sound quality. The very originally decorated bell would certainly have deserved that.

That bourdon bell would have been better as an hour bell
