I love this, its gorgeous! I hope they perform this song with an orchestra real soon! My only input would just be that the strings come in a little strong in the first verse. That isolation of the piano and Vessel's voice is such a fragile and sacred part that the strings feel like they drown it out slightly. A super soft hum on the cello wouldve been perfect for that as it builds up to the rest of the orchestra being introduced leading to the chorus. But I loved your arrangement man! Beautiful stuff :)
Hey Joshua! I’m sure they will have plans to do a show with an orchestra at some point, it’s been crazy if they didn’t at this point! So, I did actually try having a low cello part at the beginning before bringing other strings in but it didn’t sound right - the cellos were sat in the same range as the lower notes in the piano part and kind of just got lost, so I dropped the notes lower but that just added too much bass and added too much weight to the delicate nature of the situation.. so I settled with the cellos and quickly added the violas for support, violins then basses.
