The Buu saga is where I was introduced to DBZ. It was the only saga I owned and I watched it on repeat. It wasn't until years later I finally watched the entire series from start to finish in order. So to me the Buu saga is the standard I measure everything else to 😂
@@isaihstreetman8285 Tell me you’re not watching GT in dub. If so, either switch and start over or just continue watching in Japanese. Because the dub is horrible. It completely changes the original Japanese, so much that they don’t even take place in the same time period. The dub takes place 10 years after the End of Z; the sub only takes place 5 years after.
I’ll say it’s the “worst” saga in Z, but that doesn’t inherently mean bad! The previous ones were just better written. The Buu saga is still really good!
I personally think saiyan saga is the worst no matter how "good" the writing is it bores me I sometimes skip it on a rewatch ...I feel buu saga is the most entertaining of dbz, and namek saga is objectively the best saga
This is something I wanted to share for a while with the Buu saga being my favorite saga. The previous saga was about finalizing the side characters like Gohan, Piccolo and even krillin while the Buu saga was about finalizing Goku and Vegeta's character arcs. Whether it be Vegeta sucking up his pride and realizing what's important such as his family and knowing his place as number 2. Or Goku having the realization that one singular person can't save the earth and that everyone should contribute (the idea of the next generation saving the planet was meant to be an issue with Goku's ideology which is why Gohan and gotenks were meant to lose in that arc show casing the faults of this idea) and what's better is that both Goku and Vegeta help each other learn from their mistakes in the final battle such as Vegeta realizing Goku is number 1 thanks to Goku's clash with kid Buu or Vegeta telling Goku to use the spirit bomb to make everyone in the earth contribute to saving the planet. The Buu saga was meant to truly finalize everything in dragon ball because the cell saga while amazing cause Goku and Vegeta to leave themselves with destructive or negligent ideologies which would be further corrected on. Even the spirit bomb itself was meant to be a call back to the sayian saga with Goku seeing Gohan and krillin working together to stop Vegeta, however at the time Goku didn't think much of it and thought that he wasn't strong enough to 1v1 Vegeta and win. Then in the Buu arc Vegeta who witness the power of team work tells Goku that everyone should work together to defeat Buu (which is thematically beautiful since it took all of humanity to defeat the culmination of mortal evil) with everything coming full circle for both Goku and Vegeta, on top of other things like Buu being a direct counter to ssj3 adding stakes to the action, fusion being a small catalyst for the idea of team work. All in all the Buu Saga is in my honest opinion the best saga in dragon ball and is criminally underrated.
@@suhaybwars probably. I went over it a bit but I think gokus character development was mostly in saiyan and the namek saga. I think his development took a bit of a backseat in this saga to vegeta development as well as gohan
@@KeyReviewsOfficial Goku didn't stop developing after Namek. In the cell saga Goku realized his vulnerability after his heart virus and wanted a successor which was why he was so obsessed with the next generation. In the Buu saga the next generation was not the right way to save the earth since 1 person can't save everybody (if the hero saves everybody then who saves the hero) that's why Gohan and gotenks failed in that arc to show Goku why he is wrong. The real nail in the coffin was Vegeta saying the spirit bomb because Goku was shown the power of teamwork in the Saiyan saga but thought nothing off it, in fact he told krillin that he was going to train and fight Vegeta in a 1v1 showing his negligence towards teamwork. This wasn't just a call back but it was Goku realizing where he was wrong post saiyan saga, that's the development I'm talking about.
The only reason I’d say I’d prefer Vegito to Gogeta is that I enjoy Vegito’s personality and clothing design more representing a combination of both fighters designs while Gogeta doesn’t particularly have enough screen time unless you count GT to portray his personality like Vegito had here in the Buu saga and while Metamoran fashion is iconic the fact every fusion from the dance will get this clothing make it feel less unique of a form.
speaking for myself, I hated that Gohan became kinda useless. Up until that happened, I had thought Gohan was the main character of the entire show. As a kid, I thought original Dragonball was Goku's show, but Dragonball Z was Gohan's show. He was the only one who didn't die. the story followed him, every other character came and went, he was the focal point and in the end he was the big hero of the Cell saga. So seeing him suddenly just an afterthought was a downer.
@@William-the-Guyima tell you this now before someone will feed you bs about Goku fans being the reason, it’s because Toriyama did originally at first intended Gohan to be the Main character but as he was writing he realized Gohan’s character is built that he prefers peaceful life studying and chasing to become a scholar that compared to Goku; Gohan wasn’t really the man for the MC role.
@@jamescadet4450 Be that as it may, Gohan's actual depiction in a Buu was as a failure who kept letting everyone down. Several times he got a big entrance and showed up to save everyone and then just turned out to be a loser who was no help. Vegita summed it up "Gohan was a lot stronger when he was a little kid It's pathetic!" He was right about that. I think that's why lots of fans found the Buu saga to be no fun.
It’s so bad the abridged series only did 2 episodes lol. SS3 is forgettable and no one cares about it anymore. The Kai’s aren’t really relevant with Whis and Beerus being the actual strongest being in their universe. Though beast Gohan redeemed the little bit of dignity he still had. Up until that point he was a huge let down. The buu saga is fun up until Buu gets there. After that just cue that whack bs like gotrunks, who was shoehorned in for little kids.
The Buu Arc is literally the BEST way Dragon Ball could've ended. It is a throwback to EVERYTHING that made Dragon Ball worth reading/watching to begin with. It has a little of everything for everybody.
To me, Buu Saga is peak Dragon Ball. It represents everything Toriyama wanted to do as he was given so much creative liberty and it shows. It's chaotic, but it's a beautiful mess that ends as a love song to everything Dragon Ball. Vegeta admitting that Goku is stronger than him, setting their rivalries aside, Vegeta becoming a better person, acknowledging so much that Goku did, the respect growing, his love for his family and so on and so forth. So many amazing and creative concepts thrown in. Everything about this being 'rushed' as fans put it makes sense since Buu is the biggest, most dangerous threat they had to face. They've been throwing everything and pulling out all the stops to be even able to have a chance at defeating him. I love how Buu is layered. he goes from a destructive child, to a caring, understanding young fellow that goes through some deep emotional trauma ending up with his Pure evil self nuking the earth. It's so different but that's why I love this saga the most. It makes you care the most because you see the years of peace after that fateful battle against Cell. The sheer despair of Buu makes all of the Hope for peace matter incredibly in the end. It feels like early Dragon Ball, with a beautiful message of mentors and students, with Earth learning how to save itself in the end. It just wraps the series in such an amazing little bow with Uub most likely representing the one whom Goku will finally pass on the torch to. It's a mess. But it's a beautiful, meaningful, iconic, rich mess. It's pure unadulterated Toriyama, and it was made with such passion and creativity that I just can't hate it. It introduced so many of the series' staples. The mystic state, the fusions, the SSJ3, just so many things that wouldn't be there if it didn't exist. So I am so, so grateful for it. And as a side note, I just cannot fathom how some people can even prefer anything from Super which reeks of cashgrabbing and corporate soullessness all over it while the Buu Saga is responsible for so many staples in the franchise, and was when Toriyama was at his most creative there.
How you can think that he was given any creative liberty when they make him sideline Gohan and turn Goku into the protagonist again because of fan outrage.
I found out about the Buu saga through the vhs tapes they use to sell with pictures of the episodes on the back and cover. I never knew there was another major villain after cell. This saga gets a lot of criticism but it’s responsible for some of the fanbases most iconic and loved characters like Vegito, Ultimate Gohan, Majin Vegta and Kid Buu. I will always love this saga.
Majin Buu is my second favorite saga. Gohan in high school, the world tournament, babidis minion's, majin buu being the most unique villian of the whole franchise. I never understood the hate
While being my 1st Gateway into Anime, the Majin Buu Saga was actually my 1st Indruction to the "Dragon Ball" series when the Arc had started running in 2001 to 2002 on Western T.V.
@@KeyReviewsOfficial I managed to finally watch all the other previous DBZ Saga Episodes (including the Filler ones) when I 1st got into the Internet, so yeah, I was pretty Confused since that Day having no Idea there were more Episodes that came out before the Majin Buu Saga aired on T.V, but hey, I was like 4 or 5 Years of Age when I 1st saw so can you blame me. 😅🤣
An interesting comparison to make is how the arc (especially around the beginning) differs in the manga. The whole school + Great Saiyaman is cemented in my memory as a bit bloated and felt like it overstayed its welcome. But when I finished the manga the other day, I noticed how much of that was filler. From the very beginning of the arc to Gohan's identity being exposed to Videl is only 5 chapters. And compared to how I felt watching the anime (which admittedly was a very long time ago now) I found that section to be one of my favourite parts of the entire manga. The whole nerdiness of Gohan didn't feel as egregious just due to how much shorter it was. Really, he came across to me as someone who had never interacted with people his age, so he has no clue what is normal. He even complimented himself for keeping a low profile during baseball when he took the ball directly to the face. Another interesting note is that throughout the entire manga, Goku was the only one where the initial transformation into super saiyan is shown. Even Future Trunks was shown to already be a super saiyan by the time Gohan dies. So it doesn't feel as unearned for the kids to be super saiyans, it feels more like a demonstration of their natural strength. The Goten and Trunks fight felt almost like a return to the first two Tenkaichi Budokai we get to see, with comedic fights showing the sheer gap between the characters we know and everyone else. This arc actually cemented the tournament announcer as one of my favourite characters in the entire series due to his internal thoughts about how the tournament was finally returning to its roots. Unfortunately, it's been far too long since I've watched the anime to remember any differences past the beginning parts of the arc, though I do wish some of the character moments from the end of the Cell arc could have been followed up on a bit better. I feel as though Gohan was handled perfectly fine throughout, as someone who only trained when there was an active threat, but I really wished that Vegeta wasn't walked back to being his previous self immediately after. For context, at the end of the Cell Games, he has this line: "I've been completely beaten... by that guy and his son. Damn you, Kakarot! Why'd you have to die like that?" "I will.... never fight again..." That was literally his last line in the entire arc, but it was pretty much forgotten about by the start of the Buu arc. One final note I'd like to mention is power scaling. Oftentimes I see an assumption that everyone in the Buu arc is massively stronger than in the Cell arc, however it's mentioned a few times how after seven years of nearly non-stop training, Vegeta and Goku only managed to *slightly* surpass the level Gohan was at against Cell. And unlike say, the Frieza arc, the only large jump in power throughout by an individual is Gohan getting his potential unleashed. Buu gets stronger temporarily to match with the fusions, but at the end of the day, every power boost comes from cooperation. So it's fitting that the move to beat Buu is the Spirit Bomb, and also that the only time that attack defeated its opponent is when the energy isn't just taken from the planet but willingly given by the people.
Quick correction: Piccolo didn’t bow out of his fight with Shin because he thought he was too strong. He did because he was frozen with shock at meeting such a high status figure, since he knows of the Kais as a hierarchy thanks to Kami’s memories.
I like the buu arc do to how hopeless it felt. Everytime the z fighters come up with something buu finds a way to overcome that. I also love the ssj2 goku vs ssj2 vegeta fight🔥🔥
15:14 uuuh no arguments??? Going by dbz, Vegetto is the best fusion obviously... I don't care what they've done to butcher him in dbs. Gogeta didn't have enough screentime to warrant him being better than Vegetto. So yeah I would gladly engage with you in the "argument"😁 That being said, I like the buu saga as well so I loved your video! Keep up the good work!
I remembered this saga was not that masterpiece, but I'm rewatching some episodes in these days. How can I say, it's amazing, probably one of the most underrated and beautiful anime sagas
Yes! finally someone talking about the Buu Saga and how good it is. people use to focus on the negative aspects of the saga but forgets all of the good stuff, tbf there were more stuff that i think could have been brought up in the video like the soundtrack which is top tier in this saga, or that episode that concludes the saga, the one where Goku help to take care of eggs of a dinosaur, and thinking about his childhood and his grandpa, that episode is VERY underrated and one of the most heartfelt episodes of the entirety of dragon ball. i hope one day you can do a video like this, about Dragon Ball GT, which i also think it's better than most think it is.
I watched the first anime before Z so I have to say the Buu Saga is classic Toriyama. To understand and appreciate this saga one has to understand the original Dragon Ball and how Toriyama writes his mangas.
This is the longest video so far so if you watched to the end you're the goat! 😂 Lmk what you think about this saga. Next video will be the 2nd part of Ranking DBZ Fights.
The Buu is saga is the worst of Z, mainly by comparison. It stands on its own alright. The biggest issue is Toriyama’s style just didn’t work in the this arc. We know he doesn’t plan, but usually his story ends up fitting together near perfectly. Something felt off this whole saga though.
The first episode of DBZ I ever saw was from the world tournament saga, around 2002 or so, from there I kept watching on cable tv every week. Soon after I started watching the older episodes on VHS when I had an opportunity to buy them or for my parents to get them for me. For me this saga is super nostalgic and despite some of the flaws it’s really a combination of all the best aspects of DBZ put together.
@@KeyReviewsOfficial I would just ask my brother who all the characters were at the time tbh, but for all I know he started at the buu saga too 😂 somehow I figured everything out over time lol
@@KeyReviewsOfficial I also specifically remember watching original dragon ball after it or before it due to the tv schedule playing both back to back so I was kinda all over the place on the storyline 😂. Until I actually started buying the DVD sets of the sagas for both DB and DBZ there was a lot I missed chronologically, but regardless I’ve always been a huge DB & DBZ fan since I laid my eyes on the show.
I love how chaotic and unpredictable this saga. Watching my roommate's face (who has never seen DB) was hilarious as she kept trying to guess what was coming next. "The earrings do WHAT!?" and "NO HE ATE GOHAN!" were some of my favorite outbursts.
As someone who grew up from an early age with Dragon Ball.. This saga was always my favorite growing up, especially with Vegeta’s character arc being a key point throughout the saga. Nowadays I’m rewatching the original run of Dragon Ball. Gonna get to Z shortly. Honestly I think the Sayain Saga and the Cell saga are the two im most anticipating rewatching
I’m almost finished watching Dragon Ball myself. I never watched the original series although I know almost everything that happens. It’s been a joy to watch. I’m looking forward to re-watching DBZ again. For some reason I’ve rewatched the Android and Cell sagas more than anything else, so it makes the Saiyan, Namek, Frieza and Buu sagas all seem exciting to revisit.
3:22 I think Piccolo quit against Kai because he has fused with kami therefore he wasn't able to fight him since kami is under the kai in terms of ranking.
The Buu Saga is actually excellent. In the manga, not anime, that is. The animation studio knew DBZ was gonna end, so they did what they do best: stretch the story with filler scenes and episodes.
you can't hate on piccolo backing off from supreme kai. even if he did know he's stronger, piccolo probably knows enough about kai's superiority that he didn't want to risk anything going wrong on either end. hope this makes sense lol
I think it was the Kami in him that made him act like that. Also.. Dabura was giving ssj2 Gohan a hard time before getting 1 tapped by Majin Buu, and Supreme Kai was taking hits from Majin Buu and fighting back. I think Supreme Kai was underrated here.
Man, they capped SO hard about Shin. They had him looking all suspect and malicious.. just to be no stronger than Piccolo or the Saiyans.. and a good guy.
in my opinion buu saga is kinda bad due to many things like setups were added for later to be nothing like goten was created to replace goku but at first gohan was supposed to be the main character in the buu saga but sadly people begged toriyama to make goku the hero again and in the buu saga goku learnt nothing meaning we learnt nothing like really in the cell saga goku learnt that his son doesn't like fighting but I guess super saiyan 3 out of nowhere is somewhat better.
Bro tell me how its raining where im at while i was watching this and right after tht clip of mystic gohan saying "fight u no i wanna kill u" there was a loud roar of thunder and lightning flashing outside like talk about perfect timing 😂🔥🔥
The arc starts solid, then it's repeated dislike of Gohan, Piccolo and anyone not named Goku really starts to hamper it. Especially considering Goku himself has no interest being the hero for a solid half of it. The fact it not only hamstrings Hercules efforts to pacify Buu but also Gotenks or Gohan from just ending the saga. Just really shows it was padded out for the sake of being padded out too.
While it’s disappointing that Gohan (and Piccolo and Gotenks) doesn’t end up reaching his potential, seeing Goku back to life, friends with Vegeta and getting the energy from all his friends over the year was great too. Mr. Satan also goes from super annoying to a true hero in this saga
Buu Arc might be the worst Arc of Z but atleast it's better than the Most of og DB and Super Arc, except the 23rd tenkaichi Budokai, Goku Black and Tournament Of Power. By the way Buu Saga animation is the peak animation of Dragon Ball for me, DBS Broly and Tournament Of Power's animation was great but the Buu Saga animation is the GOAT for me
I think if you’re more into the dynamic between Goku and Vegeta, it’s a W. If you’re a massive Gohan fan, maybe not-even if there are some cool moments for him in this saga. Either way I think it serves as a good “epilogue” for the series
Of all the recappers. Thank you for being realistic and appreciative of the artistry of this masterpiece of a franchise. “I am not worthy I am not worthy” to your comment on Gogeta.
The hate is by terminally online Gohan fanboys usually that cant accept that he isn't main character material. Irl ive never seen not one person hate the buu arc, some ppl compare the buu arc to super or gt but I just have never seen it bc ive never seen anyone hating on the buu arc outside the internet it has nothing really bad to it infact. The buu arc is my favorite arc in all of dragonball or shounen in general its incredibly underrated, it has some of the funniest moments on par with og dragonball. Super Buu is one of the smartest & interesting villains, ssj3 is very cool (even if Goku doesnt beat anyone with the form, not the forms fault its more so Gokus but ppl cant help but hate on the form due to fanboy bias) I like Gotenks & Ultimate Gohan too. It also finished Vegetas character, yes the cell arc didnt actually finish its character, the saga gives us back Goku and gives Vegeta and Goku a better relationship, Vegeta then atones for what does. The entire arc flips a script on everything you knew about dragonball and is about everyone uniting and overcoming their flaws that no one man can beat buu. Also I love Vegitooooo idc what the haters say, Vegito never lost to buu it was his plan all to get absorbed to save his sons, way better than Gogeta ever has been as Gogeta in both broly and gt never finished off the guy.
I didn't like the buu saga because piccolo didn't get no type of power up boost or got a chance to fight buu and the gave gotenks ss3 instead of vegeta I think vegeta should had gotten that form instead of gotenks.
Whole dragon ball z is really good and i love it but frieza saga is one of the best and iconic saga in dbz those days when super saiyan was first time introduced ❤❤
It’s an amazing arc. All of what makes dragon ball great comes full circle. It’s light hearted, it’s dark, goofy, serious, comedic, action heavy, that’s literally dragon ball. It’s a love letter, not a bad arc at all imo.
I saw the saga again last year as an adult and I can say imo it’s the best saga. There’s so much to it but ultimately it’s about Vegeta character development and I love it.
There are cool things about it, but it feels like a regression. For all of Goku’s reflections about passing the torch, he still has to be the one who beats him. Goten and Gohan feel pointless.
@@KeyReviewsOfficial Hey btw i am also planning to make dbz videos like u. Can u give me so hints to start off and maybe video idea? I'll be happy to hear the hints and ideas!
This is my second favourite arc of the whole series. While I can't deny it starts off a bit slow, I think it's worth it and I love its themes. Freeza and Cell saga may have executed their themes and stories in a more refined way (I have no idea how to explain well) but the Boo saga is the most creative with how it handles its story and themes. Also the manga version of this arc is underrated.
I have no idea why people dislike the Great Saiyaman so much. I have a feeling that the people that do only know one part of Gohan, and that’s what they expect and are used to. Him being portrayed as a nerdy superhero is perfectly in character for him; it felt a lot more like original Dragon Ball.
For me the Buu saga is my favorite! I like Gohan but Goten and Trunks made me believe that they were truly the next generation to carry on the torch. This is a great video! Enjoyed how you described Goku and Vegeta especially the of the saga.
I think the budget was really low because everything looked fake to me. Kinda like going back in time and watching the older godzilla films 😂 plus I was into other cartoons
Your final words expresses my thoughts on this arc, while it does have its fair share of unforgettable moments, character development and fights. It falls short in some areas with a good number of story arcs that could've been done better or removed entirely. I gained a bigger respect for this arc after my revisit of DBZ a few months back and watching this video, but the issues i have with it just becomes more clear. Its still a very solid arc with an amazing final act, it just have some story arcs i could do without
I think they knew bringing Goku back wouldn't go over so well if the other characters got shafted(even more). I admire their course correction because they put Vegeta Gotenks and Gohan over Buu in one sided fights and none of them lost because they were weaker. They could have ended the saga with any one of those W's and I'd have been happy and I'm glad we got a good glimpse of that before Goku wrapped it up. Felt like they tried their best to meet us halfway.
@@LowTierScrub Gotenks was a disappointment but as the show has shown before, doesn’t matter how strong you are if you’re not a veteran fighter or skilled enough, you will get beat. Perfect example is when vegeta told krillin making gohan immortal would just be stupid since he can hardly fight. Gotenks simply wasn’t mature or skilled enough but i realized that after they got mollywopped by buu. With vegeta they could have ended it with that final explosion because he was no match 4 buu but chose to have his final explosion be for nothing. But the arc was lengthy which is why I enjoyed it
To be fair, Piccolo's reverence for Shin is due to Kami. Kami is the p*$$y in Piccolo and of course is the one who brown noses the Kai's so much because he is a lower guardian. Nail & Piccolo are warriors and had it not been for Kami, Piccolo would probably have fought Supreme Kai and by that point had a good chance against him. Granted, despite Supreme Kai being incompetent which makes him look even weaker, he faired better against Fat Buu than SSJ 2 Gohan so he's not weak either and likely is at least stronger than Piccolo was.

This is something I wanted to share for a while with the Buu saga being my favorite saga. Whether it be Vegeta sucking up his pride and realizing what's important such as his family and knowing his place as number 2.
Honestly very well said
I think you should have talked more about Goku's development in this arc
@@suhaybwars probably. I went over it a bit but I think gokus character development was mostly in saiyan and the namek saga. I think his development took a bit of a backseat in this saga to vegeta development as well as gohan
@@KeyReviewsOfficial the thing is I explained Goku and how he develops in the Buu arc
Never understood why this arc gets so much hate, it’s my personal favorite
speaking for myself, I hated that Gohan became kinda useless.
@@William-the-Guyexactly,the buu saga is a huge letdown
It’s so bad the abridged series only did 2 episodes lol. SS3 is forgettable and no one cares about it anymore. The Kai’s aren’t really relevant with Whis and Beerus being the actual strongest being in their universe. Though beast Gohan redeemed the little bit of dignity he still had. Up until that point he was a huge let down. The buu saga is fun up until Buu gets there. After that just cue that whack bs like gotrunks, who was shoehorned in for little kids.
This arc means a lot to me personally, I’m so glad you made this video to show more love to it.
The Buu Arc is literally the BEST way Dragon Ball could've ended. It is a throwback to EVERYTHING that made Dragon Ball worth reading/watching to begin with. It has a little of everything for everybody.
I love everything about the Saga except for Buu. Personally Cell took the cake for me.
"outright dispised by most"
Okay that's just wrong lmao
It’s awful
How you can think that he was given any creative liberty when they make him sideline Gohan and turn Goku into the protagonist again because of fan outrage.
I found out about the Buu saga through the vhs tapes they use to sell with pictures of the episodes on the back and cover. I never knew there was another major villain after cell. This saga gets a lot of criticism but it’s responsible for some of the fanbases most iconic and loved characters like Vegito, Ultimate Gohan, Majin Vegta and Kid Buu. I will always love this saga.
As an artist, Buu saga has the most impressive animation art in anime history to me.
Majin Buu is my second favorite saga. Gohan in high school, the world tournament, babidis minion's, majin buu being the most unique villian of the whole franchise. I never understood the hate
The animation was dope. But the saga should have ended with Majin vegeta battling buu for longer and destroying buu with his sacrifice
Vegeta vs spectators might be my favorite fight in the saga
😭😭 bruhh
Buu saga holds a special place in my heart due to playing Legacy of Goku: Buu’s Fury when I was a kid
If the Buu saga was ended by the Final atonement it would be the best arc ever in DB history.
That would’ve been horrible
While being my 1st Gateway into Anime, the Majin Buu Saga was actually my 1st Indruction to the "Dragon Ball" series when the Arc had started running in 2001 to 2002 on Western T.V.
Haha i bet you were super confused. When did you go back and watch the others
@@joseurbina3835 💀💀 at least you went back to watch it. W mans
For context, at the end of the Cell Games, he has this line:
"I've been completely beaten... by that guy and his son. Damn you, Kakarot! Why'd you have to die like that?"
"I will.... never fight again..."
That was literally his last line in the entire arc, but it was pretty much forgotten about by the start of the Buu arc.
You are now one of my favorite (newer) RUclipsrs. A good mix of calm opinion, recap, and analysis retrospectives of anime I like. Excited to see more!
Glad you joined!
I like the buu arc do to how hopeless it felt. Everytime the z fighters come up with something buu finds a way to overcome that. I also love the ssj2 goku vs ssj2 vegeta fight🔥🔥
Yessir the buu arc has some iconic moments
@@KeyReviewsOfficial chichi pimp slapping buu had me dying

Not despised but it’s relative bc the saiyan arc, frieza arc, AND Cell arc are absolutely incredible.
15:14 uuuh no arguments??? Going by dbz, Vegetto is the best fusion obviously... I don't care what they've done to butcher him in dbs. Gogeta didn't have enough screentime to warrant him being better than Vegetto.
So yeah I would gladly engage with you in the "argument"😁
That being said, I like the buu saga as well so I loved your video! Keep up the good work!
😭😭😭 appreciate it man
Don’t take a shot every time he says “effortlessly”

I remembered this saga was not that masterpiece, but I'm rewatching some episodes in these days. How can I say, it's amazing, probably one of the most underrated and beautiful anime sagas
Wrong
Yes! finally someone talking about the Buu Saga and how good it is. people use to focus on the negative aspects of the saga but forgets all of the good stuff, tbf there were more stuff that i think could have been brought up in the video like the soundtrack which is top tier in this saga, or that episode that concludes the saga, the one where Goku help to take care of eggs of a dinosaur, and thinking about his childhood and his grandpa, that episode is VERY underrated and one of the most heartfelt episodes of the entirety of dragon ball. i hope one day you can do a video like this, about Dragon Ball GT, which i also think it's better than most think it is.
I got a lot of requests to do Gt videos as well as super so yea I will
buu saga is my favorite, it's the most entertaining dbz arc
The Ultimate Menace: Majin Buu
The serious version.
I watched the first anime before Z so I have to say the Buu Saga is classic Toriyama. To understand and appreciate this saga one has to understand the original Dragon Ball and how Toriyama writes his mangas.
So basically adding crazy things without explanation and making every fighter that shows up the "strongest"?
This is the longest video so far so if you watched to the end you're the goat! 😂 Lmk what you think about this saga. Next video will be the 2nd part of Ranking DBZ Fights.
24:19 tragic, more like joyous because we can all agree she’s just extra baggage. If she lashed out at me, I’d pull a buu and put her in her place.
I bet you were real confused since you started in the buu saga 😭 but yea I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets
@@KeyReviewsOfficial I would just ask my brother who all the characters were at the time tbh, but for all I know he started at the buu saga too 😂 somehow I figured everything out over time lol
@@Prod.jaymelodies I did the same thing since I didn't start with the original series 😂 we all just figure it out as we go
@@KeyReviewsOfficial I also specifically remember watching original dragon ball after it or before it due to the tv schedule playing both back to back so I was kinda all over the place on the storyline 😂. Until I actually started buying the DVD sets of the sagas for both DB and DBZ there was a lot I missed chronologically, but regardless I’ve always been a huge DB & DBZ fan since I laid my eyes on the show.
The first episode that made me end up watching the whole series was when Goku and Vegeta were inside Buu
Thank you for this perfect video, now I understand this arc more.
😭 is this sarcasm?
Buu is still the craziest villian we’ve seen so far
Man your videos got some quality 👌 greetings from vienna.
Oh wow appreciate that man 🤝
I love how chaotic and unpredictable this saga. Watching my roommate's face (who has never seen DB) was hilarious as she kept trying to guess what was coming next. "The earrings do WHAT!?" and "NO HE ATE GOHAN!" were some of my favorite outbursts.
Why I love watching Reaction videos of a fan showing either their friend or spouse who’s never seen Dragon Ball.
Super Saiyan 3 was hyped up so much, but it didn't win the day. Not even Ultimate Gohan or any fusion. A Spirit Bomb was what saved the day
The Buu Saga is actually excellent. In the manga, not anime, that is. The animation studio knew DBZ was gonna end, so they did what they do best: stretch the story with filler scenes and episodes.
I find a lot of people (like myself) who actually like the Buu Saga tend to be Vegeta fans. Makes sense. Vegeta has a lot of W moments in that saga
I can watch Dragonball assessments all day. Especially when they're so well articulated. You've just earned another subscriber.
Thank you! 😎
You deserve so many more subscribers amazing content
I appreciate that!
you can't hate on piccolo backing off from supreme kai. even if he did know he's stronger, piccolo probably knows enough about kai's superiority that he didn't want to risk anything going wrong on either end. hope this makes sense lol
😂 No way! Thats cold
Good video TY for sharing with us. Saw from beginning to end @ work.
I loved how you had the music at the end sound like the ending of Eva with the horns it really fits loved the video
By the way Buu Saga animation is the peak animation of Dragon Ball for me, DBS Broly and Tournament Of Power's animation was great but the Buu Saga animation is the GOAT for me
People who say this is the worst saga have no brain prove me wrong
Haha where do you rank the buu saga compared to the other 3
@@KeyReviewsOfficial would rank it first since it was a really good story

It’s easily my favorite dragon ball saga ever and I’ve been watching dragon ball since 1996 lol 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🔥❤️
Buu did every single thing imaginable.
This saga is my all time favourite in anime history, it was the reason i started watching anime.
Love to hear it. Where would you rank the other dbz arcs
I think if you’re more into the dynamic between Goku and Vegeta, it’s a W. If you’re a massive Gohan fan, maybe not-even if there are some cool moments for him in this saga.
Either way I think it serves as a good “epilogue” for the series
32:00 Buu didn't let him transform bro 💀
Gogeta is the best fusion? Four words three letters”I’m in the trap bbn”

Great video, just a slight correction. Babidi killed spopovich while pui pui killed yamu. Dabura wasn’t involved with their deaths.
I didn't like the buu saga because piccolo didn't get no type of power up boost or got a chance to fight buu and the gave gotenks ss3 instead of vegeta I think vegeta should had gotten that form instead of gotenks.
Good video. You threw all your cred right out the window at 15:16 tho 😂

great video aswell
I love the music in this video. The orchestral versions of the tournament of power. Some of my favorite pieces in dragon ball.
Whole dragon ball z is really good and i love it but frieza saga is one of the best and iconic saga in dbz those days when super saiyan was first time introduced ❤❤
I always loved this and this gohan is in my top 3 for him
It’s an amazing arc.
I think it’s the arc where you can tell Toriyama was having the most fun, which is why I enjoy it. It’s playful, self-aware, and creative.

Buu was my favorite when i was young so this arc hits home for me.
Funny enough the super sayian 2 fight against kid buu is easily my favorite in the whole series even the ssj3 fight wasn’t as good
It’s my favorite in DBZ. It grew on me. I’m 36 years old though. The entire franchise happened in my childhood
For me the Buu saga is my favorite! I like Gohan but Goten and Trunks made me believe that they were truly the next generation to carry on the torch.
This is a great video! Enjoyed how you described Goku and Vegeta especially the of the saga.

Its still a very solid arc with an amazing final act, it just have some story arcs i could do without
There’s so many times this arc buu should have been defeated but weirdly enough I enjoyed the arc the more it went on to the ending we finally gotten
@@LowTierScrub great point, I do like how they incorporated the others showing us what we could have gotten.
But the arc was lengthy which is why I enjoyed it
I think this saga is my favorite overall. Great video!
Honestly, Buu was my introduction to DBZ as a child. I have it to thank for my love of battle 🤟😈

peak art during the arc, i loved the buu saga man.. entire dbz was special and still is to me
To be fair, Piccolo's reverence for Shin is due to Kami.
That would've been a really nice fight to see. I think it would've helped fans see the kai in a better light as well
