Holy cow! As always, this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for walking us through these steps and sharing such useful information. I hope you and your family are having a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year. 🎉
Before sliding the new seal on take a flat head screwdriver and open up the tracks a little. Make sure the track is clean, and as he mentioned lubing it will help. I used to replace door seals on storage rolling doors and at first i would fight it for an hour!! So that little prep work really goes a long way!! Now i need to go and replace my seals since this video motivated me lol And again like he said, prep is so important! I glued some seal down on the floor one time as a test, and it peeled up before the winter was over. Clean the concrete REALLY WELL!! You don't want your hard work, and money!!!, to be wasted
The rubber on the vinyl side seals that contact the sides of the garage door will always wear away the paint on the garage door. ALSO, the composite material that the vinyl side seals are attached to, will always severely WARP due to sun exposure causing severe waviness of the strip and it pulling away from the side trim. I don't know if they improved on the composite material that was used for my doors, but it is a mess!
I'd suggest silicone-based lubricant instead of lithium. Lithium is best for metal-on-metal applications and will speed up decay of rubber/plastic since it's petroleum-based
My garage door shows light out the sides on the bottom. Don’t know how to fix And also wish I could use that seal but my tract on the bottom of the garage door only have one slot
I weatherstripping all way around my garage door. But my garage door floor , from outside is bevel up , coming inside the garage. My problem is the top garage door does not flush properly and there is a slight gap. I insulation board around the top, but there is still a gap. What can I use to make it sealed, where it does not effect the door
My shop seal is shot, I've been thinking of putting a second seal on the INSIDE of the shop. Maybe I'll replace the exterior and test fit the old crap inside to see if it would cause issues
The top roller mounts on your garage door should be angle mounts that hold the roller away from the door. On top is a nut that you can loosen, then slide the roller mount away from the door, and then snug down that nut. That should help the top section of your door to sit flush against the frame.

I installed the threshold strips for both my houses’ garages about 10 years ago. Still doing great 👍🏻
Thank you for the update and your input! 🙏🏽😊
Thank you! Worked perfectly! We replaced the garage door seal and the threshold. No more water getting in. Also, less mice and bugs entering too.

Good point. Same here. Have light at top of door and wondering best fix for it.

@ I have low brackets, because my garage ceiling is drywall.
My garage door is walking side to side. How do I fix that?
