that container roof is bowing your not crazy
most def
Just throw a tape on the inside and measure....
Wet dirt, per googling, is about 100-120 lbs per cubic foot. So 4" is maybe 30 lbs per. 20 foot container, 8 foot wide, 160 square feet times 30 lbs per = 4800 lbs. It's bowing now and it's not wet yet.
More metal reinforcement must be costly
Gonna open like a zipper and bury everything in that container
And 9 months after Booty Snapple Fest, there is a baby boom, and the Demolitia grows.
Rain is going to Wash that top layer right off. there was a guy in the last comments who built many of these and said a 'roll cage-like' structure needs to be on the inside!
This 👆🏻
Yup, I agree. That container needs some serious beefing up.
A structural engineer should probably engineer the structure
Lets be honest he half asses alot of things. Like all these over priced camping spots.
@@kylefitzherbert9381 womp womp people still brought it
Bon Fire Fest . Looks like a lot of wood will be cleaned up. Hey how about putting it in one big pile and instead of burning it ahead of time you save it for Sunday night and everyone camping can come and enjoy a warming fire to celebrate the event.
Everyone enjoys a large fire and puts the wood to a great cause. Anyone else thinking this would be good?
Liability issue.

Matt, you should.Take.The shelves and continue them all the way up to the.Roof With a 2 by 4 header that runs front to back.
Yep. Making the shelves structural is what I would have done.
If the roof on that container is looking a bit bowed, just use wooden props and beams internally. If that will hold up a mineshaft it will hold up your roof and it is a simple retro fix that shouldn't get in the way.
Guys. Yes. 6-800 for an open field is expensive. However, it's a two day event. AND it's 8 people per spot. Take your friends and have a blast.
Plus. This is our boy. He's making something outta nothing out there. If you got it, the support alone is worth it. 💁♀️
You should set up a merch booth and sell eclipse glasses and shirts
he most likely will
That's a great idea, wonder why Matt hasn't thought of that!
Considering he’s the guy making merch for 30 or so channels, I’m guessing he thought of that.
He sends help to other RUclipsrs at events to help with their merch booth… there going to be a huge tent with a lot of merch.
I am jealous of no one, but I’d like to have his bank account, house, resort property….
In his first eclipse video he mentioned he would have merch available as well as possibly a band and food trucks
love how its all coming together for this event! great practice run for the future. make sure you organize a big debrief after the event, and all of the teams know before the event. even getting notes from the food trucks/bands etc. every little bit of feed back on this one is going to help you plan the future.
You built it, we will come!
Lol 😂. Very true 👍 😊
❤ yes!!
You're doing good Matt. Thank you for always uploading great content
You've inspired me to start a RUclips prepper channel
I pissed on the grass.
Maybe do a big screen and projector for a movie night at the range? It just looks like the perfect spot for it.
Resort is coming along great! Maybe reinforce the container on the inside?
It seems a couple of well placed posts in interior would go a long way.
That's crazy and he probably didn't think about that completely obvious idea
I was thinking the same thing. Made no sense to reinforce on the outside to me..
Some 2x6 joists supported by 2x4s at each end would be enough. The 2x4s on the ends might even fit in the corrugations of the steel walls.
@@TheGrahamReaper21
He did place a pole inside the length of the container that wasn't there in the previous video.
Just stabilize the container from the inside. Like a mine shaft.
Glad to see you are planning medical coverage! Wish I was able to come down! Have a blast!!!
600$ for 2 nights is crazy, and that’s the starting price? Sheesh too expensive man
Between 6 people I believe
I'm curious to see how the roof on the container holds up once during a heavy rain. That dirt will get significantly heavier.
hey ya don't know till ya try. but it is not going to end well for the container the way it is. Needs a roll cage inside. I don't know whey he didn't just paint it brown to blend in.
@@hawks2252I bet they end up painting the exposed area afterwards, if it doesn't collapse first. Only time, and a little more weight, will tell. They need to have some type of strobe light indicating if someone's inside the container, just so they'll know if they need to recover someone if it collapses.
Once that area is cleared it’ll be great for outdoor festivals too.
600 bucks for a tent site Jesus that's way over priced
I cannot wait to see this happen on the coming videos! It's so satisfying seeing you succeed, I've been a fan for a long time and you inspire me to wanna make lifestyle content!
You may want to consider hiring a sport/football field line painter to draw the camping/parking sites.
Also, consider a bon fire after the eclipse.
Most festivals just use wooden sticks with little colored flags or even string to mark out boundaries.
You should have put support beams on the interior. That way the entire length of the support beam would support the roof panel, instead of all the weight hanging on a few welds. You can still do that. Run vertical beams semi-recessed in the channels on the corrugated sides. Then weld a cross beam between them. Then the weight of the dirt and roof will be carried by the interior beams. You night need to have jacks on the bottom of the beams so you can raise them up after they are welded together. The will help take the bow out of the roof panel.
I wish I lived closer. Sounds like it is really turning into a fun event.
It's nice that you are still humble enough to think that ppl are not going to show up for your events that's why we still like you never change.
Ok I wanted to say this last video. You need to make that connex safe. Over time the dirt will get heavier. As it rains the dirt will absorb it and make it heavier especially with it being loose material it will hold more water. Not to mention begin to rust. Get some support in there…
Yup, ones I have buried have a 2x6 RHS exo skeleton on top and sides, get sandblasted and coated in an epoxy designed to be used on wet and buried metal. We then put a layer of vehicular underbody rustproofing over that.
And so the annual Bootysnapple Fest was born!
Matt, you should have the Bunker Branding merch tent with an Eclipse at Desperato shirt
I'd be willing to bet the presses at Bunker Branding are going full tilt right now getting ready.
SO glad it's all working out for you! Wish I could be there, you all are awesome
Im 100% behind the majority of the things Matt does and no matter how many spots were offered at whatever price im positive this event would have filled up day 1. Seeing the prices and matt specifically saying "we priced them at what we would have been ok paying." Really surprises me he seems like a generally frugal minded person when looking at his day to day like getting a toaster for xmas and being ok with it. And he may be well underselling the amenities. But $300-$400/night for a dirt patch and some portopoties is disapointing to see. I know this community will continue to show up and im happy for him but dang.
You could take and replace the shelves upright 2x4’s with 4x6’s to the ceiling and run 2x4’s across the ceiling to help support the the weight
Hey matt, lots of appreciation here from the uk for all these videos. thank you
I concur. 🇳🇿 😎
I know the solar eclipse isn't yearly, but this would be a great 1st annual Bootysnapple event 😂
$800 to park in a field for 2 days.. dang I'm in the wrong business! Congrats Matt!
Really?
Yeah I was like dang that's a lot more than I thought. But, supply and demand and there seems to be plenty of demand.
wow - I'm way out of touch with the price of things. I guess I better ask for a raise at work. My brother gives me a hard time because all my drill bits are short. Well I sharpen em till I find a new one.
$600 for just a tent spot. I didn't see what the original spots went for.
and no guarantees on clear skies. I’m sure it’ll be fun either way though. I’ve got a place in SE Oklahoma that’ll get a 98.9% eclipse so good enough.👍
Storage container won't hold. Weight is supported on the corners.
Have you ever thought of building a shoot house for the police to train house clearance drills and things like that. I'm sure you could make Demo Ranch videos with it too.
Yes! The government/police are training at the ranch for the next time they need to shut down your church.

You might set up a large bonfire area near the center for groups of people to get together and talk. It would be supervised and would shut down at a certain time. I am assuming there will be no alcohol allowed. You will need to patrol the river to keep kids from sneaking off and falling in. You may have to patrol the area to keep people from wandering to far from camp. Security is going to be tough. Hopefully most people will use common sense, but there always a few who don't. Wish I could be there, but unfortunately I can't. GOOD LUCK!
Im happy this all worked out for you and the ranch
$600 is a wee bit past my budget for a spot of 20x20. I'll have to enjoy the video recap from the comfort of my home. I hope you guys have fun!
I was just at bunker branding and finally got a demo shirt! Thank you for being you
Maybe you can have light duty cleaning events for all who show up who want to help you a little. Ask them to put any and all sticks they find either burnt in their little camp fires or to a few centralized areas.
Rather that dirt why not put a tin roof a few inches over the top. Slope it to collect water into barrels for later use
Better specify that food is not free or included in the price of the rental .
I came here to say that.
Conex containers are NOT built to hold the weight of you bury them.
Dont level the ground, leave it alone. It is stable soil and if you mess with it and it rains, that field will be terrible.
Stick a couple of acrow props underneath or extend your shelf props up the roof of the container to prop it up
What an awesome and great idea to bring a bunch of awesome people together for a once in a life time experience. Hope you plan to keep doing an event like this , i would love to come out for one sometime but family issues have me tied up. Great job
Hey Matt, just a reminder you want to get someone out cutting a BUNCH of wood for bonfires. Most people don't bring their own and they will want fires. Be prepared!!! 😃
those prices are INSANE.
Don't tell the fanboi
Not if you want to go.
Not really.. it was probably to prevent overcrowding...
I hope the camping prices for the eclipse doesn’t reflect what it’ll be when it’s “fully” equipped and open.
Dad can you explain what an eclipse is?
No sun.
Hahahaha alright….. I giggled

If its basically 300 bucks a night for a tent spot then Id hate to see the price for a room when this place is up and running holy shit matt that price is ridiculous.
Man I was hoping to stay at the resort one day but dang prices are looking way out of my price range im to poor lol
Same here, if this is any indication of future prices..
Normal weeks won't be this high, it's an eclipse weekend, everywhere is expensive. He will have taken the advice of the resort manager on pricing.
@@marvindebot3264 Even hotel rooms in Daytona Beach aren't that expensive during Bike Week!!
bath rooms bath rooms bathrooms. one of the biggest problems at a new event like this and people to keep them clean during the event. make sure trucks can easily service them. I've done this for major events and this can be a challange. portable lights in the service areas at night a big must. security to keep the event safe for the kids and others.. every event has some clowns that cause issues.
$600 to $800 to sit on a piece of dirt? Come on! WTF?
😂😂😂
Also maybe have hay rides. That way people can ride around the property and look at everything. And can also haul people up the river for tubing. And I don't know how muddy it gets there, but prepare to pull trucks and campers out of the grassy fields if it's wet at all.
If the roof sags "at all", it will hold water, and rot out.
Containers need a structure on the inside to support the weight. They are designed to have all the weight on the corners
Look into solar power utility lights for the range and driveways to the camp ground. You could run night fire courses. And make the roads more user friendly.
That final 'b**bs' in the closing 50 milliseconds cracked me up. Well done!
800 for a piece of grass😂
for real I was expecting maybe 300 on the high end. Ridiculous pricing
When it gets wet there will be way more pressure on the conex. I think it's dangerous as is. I'd be digging it out and adding structure to it.
The strength of a shipping container is mainly in the frame, it will 100% wreck it leaving dirty on the roof without additional support.
I hope it stays that way and won't collapse when you get heavy rains!!
I love that random star Jenna did in the background.

USA is such a dumb country, imagine having to sign legal documents when you simply want to visit a resort. In the rest of the world we use common sense. If you go and hike in the woods and trip and break ur leg, that's on you, it's pretty damn obvious that there are risks involved. In the US though, u can sue the property owner....

@@beverlyparrott3890 Not quite that much, I have a reservation at canyon lake for 2 cabins for the same days as this; half the price. And that's inflated prices because of the eclipse.
The sides of the Connex are strong enough to support the dirt you need to run railroad ties sideways to transfer the weight to the edges
no they aren't. do you see how much the sides are already bowed in? they aren't made to be buried and they absolutely need to be reenforced for that use.

$600 for a 20ft by 20ft tent only spot is just outrageous. I would love to come down but driving from DFW+food & camping supplies is beyond expensive. A tent spot should be like $200 MAX because of the river & food trucks. But not $600 for a tent spot
Clearly not outrageous enough if they soldout in a few hours. "Whatever the traffic will bear."

Congratulations Matt to you and the fam. Good luck with everything and I hope it all goes good, no accidents. Please have em all sign a waiver and no fires.
When you lay out a grid for camp spots, leave an open spot in the middle. Like a town square, a central public area that groups of campers can gather and socialize, maybe a big fire pit when there's no burn ban season.
LMAO 600 for a tent site ??
Not bad at all if you ask me it’s a 3 day stay. Wild lifers will have an amazing time for that 600. Wonna bet?
Matt you could brace the roof of the conex with 4x4s inside like a house. Better than welding.
My only concern is those who buy a ticket because they see a price online but don’t factor in travel, I really hope every person who buys a ticket actually shows up, sold out in two hours sounds like quick trolls with cards or teenagers with high aspirations but don’t think it through, I truly do hope it goes the way you want, maybe have a few backup names or something for last minute cancellations, you can also open up your range for that day/weekend. Not to shoot but it’s a large flat ground that I’m sure already has roads to it

Matt, reach out to the local volunteer fire department and see if they are willing to provide some standby at the event. Here in Southern MD, our Volunteer Department, and others will provide that for a variety of events.

Matt, just an idea for the river, have a river rubber duck race with a 1st place winner and maybe 2nd and 3rd prizes of your choice. Each person gets to write their numbers on their duck.
