I so enjoyed watching this video. I moved back in Sept'24 and like you, I brought my life contained in boxes that are in the upstairs bedrooms and in the basement. Thank you for taking 4 years because I am not rushed either. I have what I need on the main floor and I continue to take my time opening boxes. I pull out what I want or need and repack the rest and my children can deal with it one day. Learning to knit and make simple items is something I've always wanted to do. I would love to see you show more of the things you've made and start a separate knitting for beginners channel. Wishing you a wonderful new year!❤
This is so wonderful...you need to get things out and wear it all...if not now , then when.. if it wears out..at least you have enjoyed it...😊 just lovely
Kaye you have a fortune in homemade handmade beautiful things !!! There's lots of women who love ,dare I say vintage clothes, I would seriously think about selling them ,I'm sure you could use the money, maybe an estate sale ? Everything looked so professionally made ! I wouldn't expect anything less from you !!! Wow how exquisite, the fabrics right to matching buttons ☺ food for thought, I'm sure you're close friends have mentioned something like this already, thanks for the video I'm looking forward to more like it ,love is the key, always 💞 💃👚👗👠🧣💄
We truly are kindred spirits! I have sewn and crocheted all life and even worked my way through college at an upscale fabric store. Sewing is my favorite thing to do. I taught myself to knit when my children we little. I loved this video. Thank you.
My mother was a seamstress. She taught sewing in a vocational high school for 30 years. After she retired from public school, she taught adult classes. She was a professed fabric addict. She loved to go into the local fabric store and buy fabric for some future project. She made most of my sisters' and my clothes before we were in jr. high school. She made costumes for our church Christmas progams. She made matching outfits for my two sons, and I assume she did the same for my 4 nieces. When I graduated from college, her gift to me was a sewing machine. One of her coworkers said, " What if she doesn't want a sewing machine?" Mother answered, "She'd better. She's my daughter!"😊 I don't sew as much as she did, but I am grateful she taught me to sew.
The 80s are the rage! My very stylish granddaughters would wear every piece!!!! The large sleeves on your comfy sweater are perfect!! You are a master at so many crafts!
Those sweaters are fabulous! I love to sew, too. I want to see your sewing machine. I have so many machines and love each and every one of them. The fabric has gotten ridiculously expensive, but I keep hanging on to mine as well. Thank you Kaye for sharing. I really enjoyed it.
The medallion dress and the enormous sweater are my fabulous favorites! I'm a gardener also who crochets, knits, sews, and makes wreaths from dormant vines, etc. The creative process in its many forms, all part of the same community we have in common. Peace and Blessings Kaye! 🧶
Those vests are really pretty! That green dress was fabulous. You are very talented! You might need that big sweater next week when that artic blast comes in!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻❤️
I'm not nearly as talented as you but I love sewing and crocheting. I have recently started sewing again making mostly skirts and aprons. I loved this video and wish more of the homestead channels would include sewing and knitting/crocheting.
What a wonderful seamstress and knitter you are. I loved seeing all the garments you knitted and sewed in this video! Just priceless! Thanks for sharing!
Your knitting is so beautiful. I enjoy sewing my clothes and for my children and now my grandchildren. Because of "fast fashion" from cheap sources where horrible labor practices are a norm, clothes are essentially disposable. A single yard of good fabric costs more than a finished garment (like Easter dresses for granddaughters). The problem is literally tons of polyester (plastic) fabric in landfills and because its plastic it does not break down. I love the natural fibers that feel so much better, breathe and are so much better for the planet. Thank you, for sharing your beautiful work. God bless and keep you. 🌷💗❄️🎄
Thank you for showing us your knitting! I love knitting and crochet. Been making winter scarves for my family this winter. I am like you. I love yarn❤ Your a amazing seamstress!
I love the aqua summer sweater! The green & purple/blue/or black one that you laid out on the bed reminded me of a sweater a friend of mine made for her daughter (my Goddaughter) when she was young. The “yarn” was unlike anything I’d ever seen, it had shiny parts, little squares mixed into the “yarn” … so she’d knit (or crochet) a few rows, then bring this crazy yarn in for a a couple of rows so that the sweater was mainly the regular yarn that I’m familiar with but then the sweater just “popped” because of the shiny funky “yarn” … whatever was all the rage back in the mid 90’s. Her roots are from Germany, all her many sisters knitted, their mom too… me, not so much… thank you for the fun “trip” into your closet!
This video reminds me... In 1965, there was a huge fabric discount sale at our local dime store in Westminster, CA... TEN CENTS A YARD... my mom went crazy! She bought piles of fabric, and I got to pick out a pattern for me... and the fabric for it. She bought a Kenmore sewing machine and sewed all summer!
You are a talented lady. Beautiful work. I Knit and crochet but now stick to blankets. When you mentioned shoulder pads and Dallas, I flashed back in time. I got rid of my clothes from back in the day but I wish I would have saved them because I have 2 adult granddaughters who would love to have them. Blessing Kaye.
I admire your hand-crafted beautiful clothes and knit goods, Kaye. You should do a little this winter. I experienced below zero on the Plateau in Cumberland County, TN either in 2010 or 2011. Snow and ice that year. So, that big cable knit gorgeous sweater should do you good. By the way, do knit a belt and wear that sweater. I harvested some of my garden yesterday and it is in the freezer. Yes it will be seed starting in Jan.Feb. time. Thanks for the show and tell of your needle work.
I love this video also! Its great to have variety! The last sweater you showed and put on is absolutely beautiful! I love the colors! Everything you shared was quite lovely. Thank you
Gorgeous, gorgeous and gorgeous! Your skills are PROFESSIONAL! I do hope that you do some video classes on how to knit a sweater or vest! Maybe a course that we can buy? I bought a course from a YTber years ago on making a bra. I find skilled people invaluable in a throw away society and worth paying for their skills that I do not possess. Thank you, Kaye, for sharing your work with us! 💖
I do watch you for garden ext but my mom could sew anything just like you she was a supervisor in a sewing room for jc penny and BELK and I can’t sew a straight line . Enjoyed this so much. God Bless
Hey Kaye great to see your pretty face lifts my heart..... "just can wait for each video to be posted (how are ll of the girl gang ,,,,,,, have a new cat along with her kitties ,,,,,, Ed
I have a granddaughter that is 4 months old, and another one due in a week. I'll have to live 18 more years just to see them graduate high school! I wanted a daughter so much that I could teach these skills to.
Am I the only one that goes back in and comments again? Ha! Funny story.. my mom was a wonderful seamstress. She didn’t knit, but she made a lot of our dress clothes. She signed me up for a sewing class at a local fabric store. I was a tomboy. I was better at basketball than my brother’s friends. She realized she was wasting her money after a couple of lessons. I never learned to sew. I’ve regretted that many times over the years and was always jealous of my sister’s ability to make her own window treatments, etc!
kaye sorta reading between the lines hope m wrong??? Has dear Linden passed away??? yes, i went to a cat relief centre i know she and her babies had been abandoned saw them and####### next the were in m car got a vet to check em out ,,,two boy and 3 girls
Yes Ed, you missed a community post. I felt I had to put her down in the 17th. Another post when I returned on the 23rd showed the bag from the cremation service. I miss her so much but she was in such bad shape she went without a whimper. 💔
It was interesting to see what you knitted 20 years ago, but couldn't those items be better served by someone being able to wear them? What is the purpose of storing all of that in a closet?
None whatsoever. But, that they are like art, and you've spent so much time and love and money to make them, hard to part with them. I did give away many scarves.
Please take these garments out of the plastic!! It will destroy knitwear and fabrics. Ugh I cover in cotton pillowcases just cut a hole for the hanger or use sheets…oh and those zipper bags are the worst. Do not store things in them .
I love this video!!
Wonderful!
You are a woman of many talents. Love the dress with the peplum.
Kaye, PLEASE do more of these videos about knitting and sewing, and sharing all the things you’ve made 🥰 Loved this video!! ❤️
Yes, I will! Please share. This is a gardening channel primarily so YT won't be recommending it.
Beautiful items, Kaye! You never cease to amaze me!❤
Kaye, you made such beautiful things! Treasures to cherish!❤️
What treasures. Memories

Thank you, Linda! I have a sweater to finish that I started ten years ago. I hardly knitted after I started gardening.
