They radioed for help to the old abandoned coast guard station and they sent out a team with that red speedboat. When they arrived the ship had sunk. Then the rescue team vanished for some reason. The coast guard base was later abandoned. You and O.B got a call of distress on the aniversary( i can't spell) of the sinking and relived the sinking, later finding the abanonded speedboat and the base.
Or maybe the cruise ship was actually on a cruise that night when out of nowhere the waves became so bad that the ship started to capsize and then sent out a distress call, which reached ob and camodo and the old nearby abandoned station, but then they didn't find any one answering and so everyone vanished and one became a ghost and then when they arrived the ship was struck.

My theory is that the Ship hit heavy waves that may have led to some engine failure. Shortly after the ship sent out distress signals, the power sailed and they were unable to send their identification. The loss of power also rendered the lifeboats useless. On the old abandoned base, a few strange people were there and picked up the call. By the time Camodo and O.B. picked up the distress call and headed out. The strange people were already there. They killed everyone on board and dumped the bodies in the ocean. They tried to flee but their boat drifted away, leaving them to swim and eventually dying from hypothermia. When Camodo and O.B. arrived, the ship was starting to list to port. They found no one on board, and the lifeboats still there, giving off an eerie vibe. Then the ship capsized due to the waves with Camodo and O.B. barely escaping. Their boat had also drifted away but they stumbled upon the strange people's boat by chance, which they then used to travel to the abandoned outpost.
What would've been poetic, the ship being a Hospital or Plague Ship (old ships that people infected with contagious or incurable diseases were put on to be quarantined until all are dead, and sometimes the ship was sunk to insure the disease didn't have a chance to spread) I think a large ship is an underused setting for a horror story. It's always the ship itself. A ship dead in the water stuck at sea or forced to sit in the middle of the open ocean is super isolating with nowhere to run and no one will come to your aid if your in trouble. So cool to see a creepy ghost on a ship realized in this video.
