Yes just like everything else it could be used for self acknowledgment or pride and idol worship. It frustrating that people like my parents immediately discount or discredit what the right things are or can be about it just because they not into rap. People try to say you don't know the spirit behind it or how it was created or something to make it seem absolute. Why is that always scrutinize and judged critically like it's the only thing people can take and make ungodly? So in that they really could be sinning themselves while they think others are sinning especially because they not going by God's spirit they go by a religious spirit.

Especially American churches have conformed too much to worldly things, and end up idolizing men, and not God. One thing I noticed in churches before, is this almost "manipulation" like way to get people to say "yes" to Jesus, is by saying that Jesus can fix your relationships, your finances, your health, etc.. And of course someone is more likely to say yes. When we really need to say yes to Jesus because of what he DID FOR US, NOT for what he can do for us. He already paid our debt. And eternal life is God's promise to us, for anyone who does not reject Jesus and the true Gospel. Churches are trying to adjust to generational changes, instead of sticking to the truth. And while many might say "yes" to Jesus in these sermons, only a few will actually continue on that walk of truth. Because they said yes for the wrong reasons, and are realizing that true faith isn't living this perfect, worldly "blessed" life.

i think he was making a point about the people outside of worshiping God, is not like them. it is ok for a pastor to have fun as long as his heart is in the right place. we all make mistakes but we have to watch, we do have to watch.
As someone who was there, this is exactly what he was doing, and this worship leader does like to have fun, and dare I say, worship can be fun and is not only connected to the songs we sing but our entire lifestyle. That said, you hit it right in the head. But the clip doesn’t quite show all of that.

Why do we have to churchify everything the world does? Can't we just leave it alone? If you've heard that song, you won't even think about singing it in church. But i guess people just lack wisdom sometime.
And why is it always us? I grieve for my brothers and sisters who don’t use the gift of discernment only given to us by God the Holy Spirit. They would rather be moved by music which stimulates the flesh instead of the Word which stimulates the spirit. Arm yourself with the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17.
Before being fully aware, I went to a church where the focus was on U2 music (I was a fan)! It’s called a U2charist like eucharist). I would never do that now because you’re worshipping U2 or whatever other artist instead of Jesus! I also heard about masses that worship Beyonce! Ugh!
