Smart meter engineer here 🙋♂️ ironically watching on new years day 2024 😄 about to begin my boiler servicing journey after years of metering. Thanks for the video buddy, appreciate it 😊
Just come out my time and more of an installer you got any tips on how to learn the break down side and installing side to someone who hasn’t done much of it. Video is class as always👏
The display was jumping and producing strange symbols which is a sign of the board going. Then next call would have been a “60” fault so it was best to change it there and then
Great video mate! Bit like crack, it only takes one Veto then you are hooked... That said, I think having a crack addiction probably works out cheaper...lol
The tool behind the tools is the greatest tool of all. Seriously though knipex wera and facom all the way for me. Do you find you end up purchasing multiples of the same tools for different bags? When you spend on tools, you tend to look after them a little better. Everything has a place so you tend to realise if something has been misplaced gone walkies. What would you reccomend safety shoes boots wise? Great stuff place, keep doing what you do best and keep safe. 👍
Yep I have multiple bags with the same tools .. plumbing bag .. boiler bag .. oil etc .. easier to be organised that way. I swear by englebert strauss boots. High quality German brand. I’ve only had 2 pair in 4 years
Was looking at plumbing as a career change but heard with the run out of boilers by 2025 for eco heating some this the trade value (£) will be harder would like to hear your thoughts ?
Im from the Netherlands ...Here all new builds houses must be heated with a heat pump ...Im not a fan ..But it creates only more work for plumber’s/heating Engineer's ........For existing houses they will probably start using hydrogen in the future instead of natural gas ....Not much will change i think 🔮 .....More important is if you like the trade ...Try to help out a plumber for a few days
You'll be able to replace gas boilers. Where existing gas metered supplies are already in service. Service maintenance and breakdowns are still plentiful. Seriously don't worry gas is here for another 100 plus years. I doubt any of us will be about when gas runs low. Go for it.
@@rayc1503 Thanks for that, My alternative was to do electrics but looks so complicated especially with all the certs required, Plumbing was my first choice as I have a real interest in it.
@@smoothoperator6117 Electrics aren't to difficult either. It just takes longer in practice. I spread mine practical and training over 2 years. I've been in the gas industry for around 13 years. You live and learn. If you're willing and able you can earn well in this industry. You get in what you put out. With electrics we have an inspector visit every year to push all the regs which we never knew existed at us. 😂👍
@@ParkesPlumbing ah that’s nice. But I like everything in one bag, hence the MCT. I don’t like trips back to the van if it’s not for parts. MCT is actually a little to small. I also work for a boss so I get an hour for a service call, sometimes less, including travel time. For a small team of service techs (and I’m technically an apprentice with just short of two years experience, but I’m full time on service and repairs) we have a lot of customers.
@@plumbraider2265 I get you on the trips to the van. But because I’m .. let’s say .. vertically challenged, I need the hard case so I can stand on it sometimes
@@ParkesPlumbing i get that haha. I’m a little over 6’ and miss my old Raaco T33 sometimes. I still have one or two at home because they don’t need to be light there. Great cheap toolbox and great stepladder too.

Honestly I don't think that bag is worth it, I still use my Stanley fatmax which I have my analyser and u guage and I have a mini sorting box with my fuses, sensors, screws, etc.... 1 bag and less to carry the better 👍

Will them pliers remove rounded off bolts out of a plate to plate on a vailiant eco tech?
Parkes plumbing do you think COVID-19 affected the plumbing business? Like yours
