I have the 2024 GLE450. The GLE53 is a more tuned version of the GLE450, with slightly bigger turbo etc. The GLE580 is the de-tuned Bi-Turbo V8 version in the GLE lineup.
The GLE63S is a totally different animal from all of the above, and is the only true AMG among the listed GLE models, and not just an AMG badge added in, with some cosmetic treatments.
Not only is the 600+ HP V8 engine hand-built, but also the entire car has been subjected to the AMG treatment, including the transmission, the AWD system, the suspension etc. To me, the premium that the 63s charges over the other models, is totally worth it, if you need that kind of a highly specialized product.
I debated the same . I ended up with the 53. I love the thought of a V8 again coming out of an X5 M50 prior. I will say the gas mileage is phenomenal in the V6, just wish it was a bit more powerful
Appreciate the review (all your reviews actually). The 63 does look better (as expected) and that blue is great. Presumably available in both AMGs. Not sure about that price differential. I like the different drive modes. If they had an ultra economy mode, I might try one. 😉 I hate the snap crackle pop exhausts in any vehicle. I have a now 15 year old basic ML350, but just over 102k. Been very reliable except for nuisance stuff, mostly electrical in nature as you might expect these days.
The best suv in the world 🙌🏼
