Ginger brute is a pet card of mine. I first found out about it at draft and at that point I didn’t even know that card existed. I found out it exists and just how powerful it is when my opponent in one of the rounds drafted SIX COPIES and so he had at least on every turn. It was pretty funny.
I got to meet you two wonderful people this last weekend at Magic 30th! Seeing how kind you two were in person just makes me that much happier to watch your videos. My only regret was not having the courage to ask to get a game in with you two, haha!
Y'all should talk about the card "High Tide" sometime! For just a single blue mana at instant speed, all of your "Islands" (including dual lands) produce an extra blue mana. It has definitely helped me cast higher cost cards in a pinch.
Had someone in my pod attack me with a 28/28 Consuming Aberration so I could block it with my Brash Taunter to take out stax player hiding in their pillow fort. Teamwork makes the dream work.
I love gingebrute for Yuriko. Being able to play it for any mana is such a nice feeling. Also the haste is amazing. Its the only onedrop that can attack the same turn in dimir.
My first deck ever is CHatterfang aristocrats: and I play Szat's Will in that. It is always good. Even if the highest power of a creature is 5 you still get awesome value on the board plus the graveyard hate. I love this card.
My friends cry when I play Aerial Extortionist in my Duke deck (he gives him Myriad). The number of triggers sets all of them into the stoneage and if they use the cards to get back - the card draw sets you up to win.
I use Garna, Bloodfist of Keld in my Prossh, Skyraider of Kher deck. It is so useful to just swing with all the Kobolds to draw my hand back or as a damage outlet. I have a subtheme of cmc 4 matters with Fleshwrither in the deck too so it is a perfect fit for the deck.
@@buckeyemanboy Suprisingly they didn't make the cut. There are more important cards that I need to keep room for to enable the Necrotic Ooze setup and Purphoros causes the table to gang up on you to quickly. To much of a liability when it doesn't do anything else.
I helped a friend build a hapatra deck and I convinced him to use slippery bog bonder. You can chose one of your opponent's creatures to get all of your -1/-1 counters.
I run Rug of Smothering on my Osgir deck. It's fun to have 2 to 4 of these on the field thanks to Lithoform Engine and/or other cards, and see the entire table fume in anger.
Aerial Extortionist: drawing cards for nonhand casts is just awesome and ghostly pilferer has the same text. i think both cards need to see more play. PS: play extortionist in ishin! if i am going to build a ishin myriad deck this will be for shure in it (becaus i whant titan trigger) sad golem is sooo good if you blink it.
I was debating Aerial Extortionist in my Roon Prison deck but it sadly doesn't work with the Halo Fountain subtheme the deck is aiming for. I might reconsider it after hearing your argument of using as a means to exile something they could easily recast to get a draw from it while tying up a little of their mana for the turn. Also because it is ETB and Damage trigger I can blink it if needed or just blink something else if not needed and still get the trigger from attacking.
There's a werewolf called ill-tempered loner that has the same ability as brash taunter but when it transforms it says any damage dealt to any permanent you control, it will deal that much damage. I used that card to win a game out of nowhere by sending back blocked damage then casting klauths will which could only hit my creature and just sent the damage back. Only difference with loner is it's any target not just opponent as well
I run a boros myriad deck with Duke Ulder Ravengard and have turned Aerial Extortionist into a kill on sight creature within my playgroup. He enters and myriads and I almost always get to exile 6 things right away.
Honorable budget bomb mentions: ALL of the Backgrounds cards! They’re so good and versatile can spice up any deck especially if you have 2 commanders! Most of them are below a dollar! Pick them up because they are powerful!
Definitely have to pick up Szat's Will. A dictate effect, graveyard hate, AND it makes chump blockers? Even for 5 mana that's a lot of value. Throw in a Soul Exchange to give this some extra spice (Which is also very budget at around $.25). This is a reanimate effect for BB and exile a creature you control (already a good rate and tokens are great fodder for effects like this) that gets a bit of a bonus (A +2/+2 counter on whatever you bring back) if what you exile happens to be a thrull (which Szat's Will makes).
I'd like to suggest another good Budget Bomb: Vendetta. It's a really solid removal spell in black, just costs black for destroy nonblack creature and lose life equal to its toughness. Great for higher color decks that can't use snuff out very easily, and when I bought it earlier this year it was 25 cents (Canadian pricing btw).
So much hate for Hero's Downfall! Sometimes you are mono-black and just need to destroy target planeswalker though, just saying. Curtain's Call is definitely a card I missed though, so thanks for bringing it up.
On monday I had a game with lightning greaves on my aerial extortionist. felt pretty strong! Gingerbrute was a very nice find for my Marisi deck! Imagine goading all creatures of an opponent with that stupid little hasty guy :D I totally agree, that this dude has a place in very specific decks, but in those it does some serious work!
Huge fan of Aerial Extortionist! I love it in my Duke Ulder Ravenguard deck and giving it Myriad is just INSANE! Slippery Bogbonder is really great, but doesn't interact with Halana + Alena or Forgotten Ancient well because they only care about +1/+1 counters.

Sagromancer is in my Oloro Life Gain deck and my Nekusar Wheel deck. Ginger Brute is in my Mutate deck along Stuffy Doll and Creepy Doll. (A couple of my pet cards. lol)
I actually have both those decks as well (oloro and nekusar, both homebrew, less than like 500 each) but I don't run it in either, I feel like I'm not swinging enough in oloro and I'm not creature based in nekusar so it makes sense
I don’t run a lot of creatures in Nekusar either but I treat Sangromancer more like an Enchantment that sits there and punishes people for drawing and discarding. (In this case, discarding.)
Would you guys consider Mass Diminish a budget bomb? It really weakens a big creature or softens a blow from a big swing from an opponent. It can be used so many ways and even has Flashback for 4 mana, so it just seems so cool and I really want to find a good commander for it!
Okay legit question: can anyone give me a real and tangible reason to use Moxfield over Tappedout? I hear them talk about this site every episode, and every "advantage" they mention just feels...gimmicky. can anyone here give me a legit argument for why I should take the time to move 10 commander decks from tappedout to moxfield?
I'm curious as well. I've used TA for a decade, and I will say that the first thing that comes to mind is being able to change CMCs (e.g. Snuff Out) for curve purposes. But other than that, it didn't seem drastically different from a functional standpoint when I tried Moxfield out.
I'd like to add sun droplet! It's like casting a regeneration spell on yourself, giving you 1 life per turn for basically the entire game. If your opponents cannot do more than 4 damage per go around, you will wind up with full health! Add in card effects like cleric class and you are basically unkillable!
Nah it's probably ok in lifegain decks that can take Advantage of it like dina but not as a goodstuff card And even if you're playing lifegain there are better cards like essence warden

I don’t believe High Tide is less than $1, but it is definitely a good Magic card. Mono-blue staple and well-known Legacy combo enabler.

I've given an opponent enough mana to counter my spell with high tide before, as it affects everyone. Feels bad. Still a great card though.
Big Game Hunter is sparingly good because his CMC is so low white recursion effects like Sun Titan, Serra Paragon etc effects bring him back.

Personally, sangromancer I've found to be mediocre in terms of life gain, I've found soul sisters to be way better just on the back of 1 mana vs 5
I play szat will in my Chatterfang deck and my Ayara deck … always overperform or gets countered 😒😂
Szat's Will I'd certied good. Run it in my Sengir+Szat mono black budget and always happy to draw it. :)
