  • Let the Record Show - the crate-dug interview series in which musicians, DJs, rappers, and producers discuss their favorite songs of all time as the tracks spin on vinyl - closes out 2020 with its final episode of the year featuring electronic music producer Mat Zo.
Hot off the heels of his third studio album Illusion of Depth, Mat Zo sits with hosts Mike Pizzo and Warren Peace as they dig through vinyl rarities selected by the producer. Mat picks a varied crop of tracks including alt-rock staples from Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine, backpack rap from Madvillain and Deltron 3030, and classic rock standards from the Beach Boys and 10 cc, among others. Mat also talks about the creation of his new album and the role of electronic dance music during a pandemic.
Mat Zo’s appearance on Let the Record Show marks the 51st episode in the series and the final episode of Season 4. Guests on previous episodes this season have included J-Zone, Cut Copy, Blu & Exile, Sofi Tukker, The Free Nationals, R.A. The Rugged Man, RJD2, Little Brother, Cam O’bi, Dudley Perkins, YehMe2, Rittz, SNAILS, Malik and J-Boogie. Let the Record Show will continue with Season 5 in 2021.

I also want to say thanks for this series. I live in Vegas....been a fan of both of yours for years since high school. Word Up Show....HipHopSite.....you guys were and are vital to the Vegas scene and hip hop/club music. Keep this going man. Learned a ton watching these interviews.

I just wanted to say that I think this series deserves a hell of a lot more attention than it gets. Hearing you guys discuss all these records with different artists and DJ’s is awesome, I’ve been hooked for the last few days, picking through the guests I was familiar with first, but now I’m discovering new artists I’m less familiar with through watching you guys talk about their favorite records with them! Much love my dudes 🙏🏻

You two have a gift for finding interesting artists with unique tastes in music. I love that they usually pick a wide variety of genres, and, thankfully, hip-hop always finds its way in. Peace in 2021! #WordUpShowForever
