Jinjer utilizes multiple time signatures in their songs which is what you were referring too. That is one of the reasons they sound so unique and it is also very hard to do! Another awesome thing is that they change who leads the core tempo, sometimes drums, sometimes bass, sometimes guitar, sometimes vocals, so cool!
This song got me hooked on Jinjer... I absolutely love it! Very progressive sounding. It may not be to both of your tastes, but may I suggest Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev... It's fire. It is all good bro, I'm 44 and can only manage a very similar Goatee... Some of us are just follicly challenged 🤣 Chocolate, Raspberry, and Strawberry Milkshakes. As always, thank you for the reaction. 🔥🖤
Jinjer creates nothing but great music. They are all Masters of their crafts and know how to show it off. I would like to suggest a song that will surprise you because it's way out of their norm. "Beggars Dance" from their King of Everything album is a short 2 minute Bossa Nova Trac that sounds like it came straight out of early 20th century. Tatiana has stated several times that if she wasn't doing metal, she would be a Jazz vocalist and Beggars Dance really shows how she is able to pull it off. Here is a link to Miss Jinjer Channels "Girls just wanna have fun" video mix version of the song... ruclips.net/video/ON5F9sb6ZQ0/видео.html
...cool guys...someone said they are "math rock"...which makes sense ta me...i can only count to nine....lost a thumb in a bowling accident...lol....yeah between the time signatures...the syncopated and poly rhythmic rhythms these guys just keep you on your toes.....also..loved the mini-docu you did on them....great job.....
Milkshakes?! Well... But I think you`ll looooove Jinjer`s "I Speak Astronomy", the only love song Tatiana ever wrote (I think...) and published (thaaaaat`s for sure!)... Well, kind of love song.... 😁🤘
YES!!!! My Favorite Jinjer song! One of my favorite videos also, the cinematography is stunning. In light of the current issues going on I would like to request their song "Home Back". It is the story of growing up in Ukraine told from the perspective of a child.
I think that was the studio version with two different live videos mixed together brilliantly. This song shows her range, talent, unique lyric-writing and the band’s ability to change the whole vibe of the song on a dime. I read somewhere that she writes in her native language and then translates into English. Is that true?
They are coming here (St. Louis) march 13 for a headline show, then they are playing with slipknot for the knotfest tour in memphis and arkansas and I may do both of those!! and if you wanna her her cleans check out " I speak astronomy" which is mostly cleans (and phenomenal cleans at that) or check out " bad water" is all cleans.... or their older stuff or whatever... just can't go wrong with this band. Maybe "vortex" off the new album or "wallflower" both are great songs!!
Incredible message on top of the great vocals. Nice when you choose the official music video and it's a live concert. As for milkshakes, it really depends on what options there are, I like trying new things that you don't see everywhere. But when it's only basic options I go strawberry then chocolate and last vanilla. There is a limit to what flavors I would try, no tea, coffee or wasabi ect., nothing too crazy.
They are coming local to us soon, might take the teenager with for his first concert experience, love there songs and he could learn something about my music styles. Plus they are maining it OH YEAH!
This might be my favorite “Teacher, Teacher” reaction I’ve seen out of hundreds. I love that she’s totally in love with Tatiana and the song, totally fangirling, and he’s stoically impressed. 😜
Tatiana is raising the bar so much for female metal singers! She just seems to keep impressing us more and more. What an amazing person to look up too 😍
Good reaction. I think you would like "I speak Astronomy" Tatiana's cleans are very good. The growling is used for accents. Have access to the lyrics because they are very clever.
Ukraine!!! Wish them all the best to make it through this $#!T storm alive and well. Eugene(bassist) is active on social media yet. Much respect for that whole band!🤘❤️
Best transitions growls to cleans or the other way around? Gauntlet thrown. Check out 1:35 - 1:50 in this video. ruclips.net/video/SNPesLFTnUg/видео.html It's just a cell phone crappy recording, but you'll get the idea.
Some useful terms: Syncopation: Unexpected changes in the rhythm. This might be as simple as the drummer delaying a beat on the snare drum, or as complex as the whole band accenting beats that don't fall on the typical 1,2,3,4 subdivisions. It's a very vague term in some sense, but I consider it to be a note or lick that defies the apparent pattern. Polyrhythm: when one or multiple instruments play two dissimilar rhythms concurrently. The most simple example might be playing triples (one-two-three) over a beat of four. The notes will line up at certain beats while being opposed at others. Odd time: When a time signature is not a multiple of two. I guess 3/4 (waltz time) is generally not considered odd time, because it's easily thought of as slower 6/8. Odd time is most commonly 7/8 or 5/8, which, if you simply nod your head to, will cause you to be off by half a beat every other bar. It's incredibly strange to try think of as musical timing when you're used to 4/4, but once you get the hang of counting beats, you'll notice lots of 7/8 and 5/8 in progressive metal. Often these are switched between and mixed with other time signatures. The way music is structured is very interpretative. For instance, a songwriter may formally divide two bars of 5 and 7 beats respectively (one bar of 5/8, one bar of 7/8), or just note the time signature as 6/8 (the average) and consider the change in feel to be an accent or syncopation.
That's called a "BACK BEAT". The emphasis is on 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3 in a 4 beat per measure time signature. That slow half time feel part you said you didn't know the term for.
Nice vid. You should definitely react to the song orphan by the band Whitechapel as this is a deep subject matter lyrically along with clean vocals by Phil. Please & thank you 😎
It’s called metal has many riffs time changes transitions about as complex as orchestra these individuals are so talented the skill thanks to doing constructive things not eyes in phone or gaming most of one’s day metal result of hard work unlike say rap where a computer does the sound/beat and it’s will be same redundant few beats the whole song if you can call it a song or poetry with a beat whatever real basic easy not much skill needed now learn a instrument writing with pals
When you get to it, you should check out Bloodywood - #Gaddaar or Machi Bhasad (videos on their channel). I have a feeling they’re on the same trajectory as Jinjer and the way they just blew up. They’re from India and really good.
How much lip filler you want all of it, I want dem duck duck lips 💋👄🤐 lolz ridiculous tht women think those lips are attractive and were like no your lips don't match your face 😜...... will this phase even end hopefully soon....
"the one and only tatiana and her band - jinjer".... vomit the band is better musically than tati is vocally... and i say that as a big fan of them.... she is an equal instrument of each song and i actually REMOVE her from some of the songs when i download tracks because she hasn't always made the best artistic choices to fit each song (though much better over time, it's the earlier stuff that she misstepped on most frequently) this is one of the best collections of musicians we have in one band that is currently out there

I was legit about to type the same... I saw your comment immediately and was like ooh!!!
plus they badass
"I speak Astronomy", "Vortex", "Wallflower". Check those out!
The more songs you listen to the further down that rabbit hole you go.
If you like her cleans and Eugene, then Wallflower is probably what you're looking for.
I've seen parts of the music video and it looks so good
Love the “stanky face”

I like all of their songs but this one is still my favorite.

JINJER...simply the BEST

"Wallflower" will be a double rate for sure as well :) So beautiful.
I love Jinjer but yes, it is hard to head bang to!!!!!!
Yep from the East Midlands too so do know the ‘ I don’t know Jeff’ comment, still as funny as ever, great reaction again from you two
The time signature is 4/4 throughout. This is the best example of the fusion of triple-z jazz and heavy metal. Good reaction.
Thank you for the kind words 😀
There are extra beats (or two) added in at different points.
...cool guys...someone said they are "math rock"...which makes sense ta me...i can only count to nine....lost a thumb in a bowling accident...lol....yeah between the time signatures...the syncopated and poly rhythmic rhythms these guys just keep you on your toes.....also..loved the mini-docu you did on them....great job.....

Milkshakes?! Well...

Well, kind of love song.... 😁🤘
Always loved how they were able to capture a real “wall of death” from the show. Adds something special
Her eyes when Tatiayana sings, 😍

Wallflower! Do it! You will love that one! 🔥
You look like the Bass Player for YOB. Great band.
I'm hoping that's a good thing? haha

I don't know if you get enough credit for your thrown in pop culture/movie/tv shows/whatever edits. Hahaha. Love 'em.
I love that song so much. It really pulls you in. I never get sick of it.

Choc, Straw, Vinilla. Grats on the "beard". I didn't know I could grow one until I was 53. Wife was upset though so I'm clean shaven again.
Evening guys ... you should check out the song off of new album wallflowers from Jinjer -- Disclosure its so different but awesome .
One of my favorites 🖤 You guys really need to check out Wallflower off the new album 🖤
Thank you for the recommendation 😀
More Nightwish Please. Song of Myself or Romanticide. Both live at Wacken 2013.

HAVE to check out Home Back. The official video. The visual imagery tied with the lyrics is a masterpiece and a strong message
We will add it to the list!
I Speak Astronomy is an epic 'proggy' number and has a higher ratio of clean vocals to growls. Be warned, it has another false ending.
Have a look at The Unkillable Soldier by Sabaton.
You should check out darko us acid inject

Thank you 😀
A bit of an unusual request but I'd say you should react to their song "The Prophecy". Such a fun song, I honestly think it's a bit underrated...
Thank you for the recommendation 😀
Try listen to Aurora and prepare to be blown away
I love how your music taste differs, recommend Archspire for some high quality machinegun vocals.
Nice vid. You should definitely react to the song orphan by the band Whitechapel as this is a deep subject matter lyrically along with clean vocals by Phil. Please & thank you 😎

Its so sad that noone reacts to the Melbourne live version of this song...
Its so much better then this studio version. 😢
Agree 100%, it is so much better than this
