I cut off a piece of beaver nawed wood about 8” long leaving nawed off end on and carve a wood spirit on it . That place is a mother load sorry for the long post great video .
At this time of the year the pelts are not worth a whole lot, I use the carcasses for bait during the winter trapping season and sell the castors. Thanks for watching!
Hey 👋, so looking forward to the trapping season. What are you expecting? Has it been good summer conditions for your quarry? I can't believe how industrious beavers can be. Amazing to see how much impact they can have. Is there much value in their pelts, and is it true that beaver tail is good eating? Jon
We've had many forest fires around, sure it will affect the populations, these beaver were damage control beaver that were plugging up culverts so they were caught early, not worth as much as winter beaver for sure! I have never tried beaver tail to be honest. Thanks for watching!
I don't use wire since it is not portable and kinks all the time, basically a one time use. I use 3/32 aircraft cable and it lasts way longer. Thanks for watching Nick!
I just came across your channel. I am not a trapper only for snow shoe hares. I have always been interested. I saw a video you caught a cougat and i am wondering your general location? Are you in canada?

Very nice! Unfortunately this kind of trapping is illegal here these days.

Your slide wire doesn't look like 14 or 12 gauge. Is it aircraft cable? If so what size? Thanks
I don't use wire since it is not portable and kinks all the time, basically a one time use. I use 3/32 aircraft cable and it lasts way longer.
