@pure tango I do too, the sound of the footsteps weren't so incredibly loud so you can hear someone from far away with comtacs and in this time frame of eft there weren't many players so you didnt know if it was one or not so the fear was extreme and having to check your guns ammo instead of the game telling you the approximation of it was really nice too. Even so eft now is still amazing but I'd prefer the old one

It's literally all the raid locations put together into one giant map that you can roam freely. If that's not an open world mode, or a free roam mode, as they call it, I don't know what is.

The city is cut off from the rest of the world and 2 paramilitary factions are fighting each other one supported by the west the other by the east it's nothing to do with world war 3. If anything the story loosely resembles the Ukraine conflict
the realism is almost scary, no background soundtrack. it can get dark and eerie. when he was in the apartments, it looked like i was in Afghanistan all over again, quite and dark. then, in an instant gunshots and somebody is dead.

TehFocus in a way the game is just a death match shooter. I don't have access to the game myself so feel free to correct me of I'm wrong on anything. from what I've seen so far, you can only play raids until you beat all of them. since there's 10 technically you'd have to play 10 "linear" missions before you get access to free roam. once in a raid, players fight against a.i. now let's say another group is already in the raid. from what I understand, you could encounter this group on the raids map and choose how you deal with them. I welcome any and all corrections because I'm interested in this game but way to lazy to make a google search on what it's about

It's a perfect narrator voice. "They always have a buddy" - sound so calm and professional, like he jumps off a plane, engage in car chase and shoots some targets before tea time on daily basis. I guess he kinda does.
Frankie's job here is to essentially let everyone know that the game even exists as at the time it literally just came out, it's not an in depth tutorial since not even frankie would know everything about the game 2 minutes after starting it. It's no different than the raid shadow legends ad that we get from literally every youtuber, some subtle editing and lying to make the game seem more dayz-ish for his audience too probably

And then you realize that arma doesn't have nearly as much customization and detail that this game has. Side by side comparison matters in some people's eyes. Just saying.
because it is quite a functional system: The game geniously translated the scope as another Hud Pop up instead of filling the whole screen or most of it. not to mention that it looks great, but it is quite Performance Heavy... so a Console would never be able to pull that off.
But in real life when you fill out the whole screen it more accurately mimic real staff since when you using scope your filed of view is compromise as hell
True, I would prefer that too honestly, I mean im alwaysss for realistic and always prefer it, but in this case its easier, cause you still see someone next to you, but its not immersive at all, since you cant check a scope like that without losing your sight for everythign else..
Actually you can, you need to train your eyes for it though. this is actually more realistic as it is possible to use a scope with both eyes open. it is just a very tricky thing to do

In the final game you will be able to do - Raids, which are just like in this video, with small maps and a limited amount of players. - Freeroam, which is basically all the raids maps stichted together that then make up 18qkm which is about the size of Stratis in Arma. Freeroam will be similar to DayZ.
I wish survival games included random events in them. Such as a military helicopter passing over the main city. It would be broadcasted to all radios on the map for example and players could shoot it down for loot

The people that made this game also made a free game called Contract Wars, which is this browser-based FPS which actually looks extremely good for a browser game, almost the same as Escape from Tarkov, but maybe less features.
6:35 the two guys you killed were both AI, they had AI loadouts. the 4 you killed at 12:10 and onward were also AI. It also seems you put together multiple matches and it makes people that havnt played the game think its 1. It seems you were playing an "offline" match that only has AI, so even if you died you wouldnt loose anything
he does know they are AI since he check marked the pox for offline..... he never states they are players, so people cant expose him, he states he "believes" they are players
To avoid everyone playing with just a knife, handgun or basic shotgun, they need to add a more lucrative looting system and the ability to find assault rifles and such. At the moment, everyone is running bare minimum so they don't lose hours worth of gear with one pop to the skull.
You can find assault rifles, they just aren't fully built, often they are broken down to just the basics and other parts need to be found to complete them.

it isnt going to be openworld survival at the start fam, youre gonna have to go thru the raids until you escape from tarkov. Then you unlock the openworld map which combines all the raids. Atleast thats what i know

this is my first ever comment on RUclips. Franky you're probably one of the best survival player I've ever seen on RUclips. Every video like this, is well edited and well played. I'm never board watching you play these kinda games. It's actually so good sometimes that I watch them over again and I never do that with game play videos. Well seeing the amount of realizm to the game my bet is they have slugs, buck and bird so from 30'yards birdshot wouldnt kill ya most likely but you would be down i bet they have diff shells for the shotgun though.
it all started from a unity game yeah and sadly the devs are sticking with it but said in streams they aim to please alot of people this is what worries me tho cuz they dont listen to us when we say use like unreals engine or anything else really
There is essentially no difference between the engines in terms of performance. The reason Unity gets a bad rap from people is because Unity is highly accessible. Because of that a lot of new developers flock to Unity and end up producing a poor product. Don't forget games like Rust and Hearthstone were built using Unity. Competent devs make competent games, it has little to do with the engine.
I like Tarkov but Frankie uses a little bit of editing magic to make it look like you're in the raid for three-four in-game days when actually you're not in raids for anywhere near that time. Also when Frankie says "Those were definately players." When he killed those two guys in the bushes, they were actually Scavs aka AI. He only kills one actual player in this entire video and that's the guy he kills while he comes out of the room in the dorms. Here you see Frankie doing commentary in post but trying to make it seem like it's live. He splices two games together to get the day and night footage. Just thought I'd let you all know.
I'd say it's pretty important, as he's being pretty misleading about it and is obviously taking multiple takes and putting them together and trying to hide it. In some elements, the game doesn't play like he was showing.
Riley's Shop any actual proper fan of frankie or sadas know nearly all the content is 'for show' its been this way for a LOOOONG time. Hes not hiding it, its more of like when you dont explain a magic trick. When you DO explain it, all the wonder of the trick is lost.

Yeah it's alpha, but afaik the plan is to have it as a multiplayer shooter pretty much how it is now. What is there to motivate the players to play? Just sneaking around gathering stuff gets a bit stale after a while, especially if all is lost if killed.
***** I'm not one of those guys who hype up every game (like those NMS & Watchdogs hipsters). I'm just telling how it is. The mechanics of this game are what a lot of people have been praying for in a first person shooter. It is looking pretty good for an ALPHA.
hmmm those extraction points seem like a griefer's/camper's paradise. Im not at all sold on that game mechanic at all. but i guess, it should be a much larger open world when its done.
It's an early alpha, im sure they will address that mechanic going forward. it would make more sense to call for an extraction once you have completed some objective rather than head toward a choke point where you have campers just pissing about either chasing easy loot or just being wankers for the sake of it.
There will be different scenarios or raids as they call them, like this one that you will have to complete or rather, escape from (there's about 10 of them if remember correctly). Once you are done with all of them the whole map will open up for you to roam about, which is about 16km2 (it ain't exactly DayZ). But you can always go back to them to gather loot if you so desire. I've played a little so far and it sure has huge potential and the feel of the game is amazing. Sound design is crazy good and you really wanna be careful about your movement as every step counts. The gunplay and the way the core gameplay feel is definitely right and on point, better than any other games in the genre if you ask me. I have high hopes for this game.

For many years I was a fan of the Battlefield series, a big fan of RPG (Fallout 1 and 2, Jagged Alliance 2), then I was devoured by PUBG for a while, but after Escape from Tarkov I don't want to go back to other games! Because in Escape from Tarkov there is everything that I like so much !!!

It's no different than the raid shadow legends ad that we get from literally every youtuber, some subtle editing and lying to make the game seem more dayz-ish for his audience too probably

because it is quite a functional system:
The game geniously translated the scope as another Hud Pop up instead of filling the whole screen or most of it.
not to mention that it looks great, but it is quite Performance Heavy... so a Console would never be able to pull that off.
But in real life when you fill out the whole screen it more accurately mimic real staff since when you using scope your filed of view is compromise as hell

True, I would prefer that too honestly, I mean im alwaysss for realistic and always prefer it, but in this case its easier, cause you still see someone next to you, but its not immersive at all, since you cant check a scope like that without losing your sight for everythign else..
Actually you can, you need to train your eyes for it though. this is actually more realistic as it is possible to use a scope with both eyes open. it is just a very tricky thing to do

I wish survival games included random events in them. Such as a military helicopter passing over the main city. It would be broadcasted to all radios on the map for example and players could shoot it down for loot

I watched this when it first came out and coming back all these years later I just realized that you're actually playing tarkov. This game absolutely blew up! Good call.
The people that made this game also made a free game called Contract Wars, which is this browser-based FPS which actually looks extremely good for a browser game, almost the same as Escape from Tarkov, but maybe less features.

6:35 the two guys you killed were both AI, they had AI loadouts. the 4 you killed at 12:10 and onward were also AI. It also seems you put together multiple matches and it makes people that havnt played the game think its 1. It seems you were playing an "offline" match that only has AI, so even if you died you wouldnt loose anything

To avoid everyone playing with just a knife, handgun or basic shotgun, they need to add a more lucrative looting system and the ability to find assault rifles and such. At the moment, everyone is running bare minimum so they don't lose hours worth of gear with one pop to the skull.
You can find assault rifles, they just aren't fully built, often they are broken down to just the basics and other parts need to be found to complete them.

it isnt going to be openworld survival at the start fam, youre gonna have to go thru the raids until you escape from tarkov. Then you unlock the openworld map which combines all the raids. Atleast thats what i know

Well seeing the amount of realizm to the game my bet is they have slugs, buck and bird so from 30'yards birdshot wouldnt kill ya most likely but you would be down i bet they have diff shells for the shotgun though.

There is essentially no difference between the engines in terms of performance. The reason Unity gets a bad rap from people is because Unity is highly accessible. Because of that a lot of new developers flock to Unity and end up producing a poor product. Don't forget games like Rust and Hearthstone were built using Unity. Competent devs make competent games, it has little to do with the engine.
I like Tarkov but Frankie uses a little bit of editing magic to make it look like you're in the raid for three-four in-game days when actually you're not in raids for anywhere near that time. Also when Frankie says "Those were definately players." When he killed those two guys in the bushes, they were actually Scavs aka AI. He only kills one actual player in this entire video and that's the guy he kills while he comes out of the room in the dorms. Here you see Frankie doing commentary in post but trying to make it seem like it's live. He splices two games together to get the day and night footage. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Yeah it's alpha, but afaik the plan is to have it as a multiplayer shooter pretty much how it is now. What is there to motivate the players to play? Just sneaking around gathering stuff gets a bit stale after a while, especially if all is lost if killed.
It's seems like it may be a lot like the division dark zone to be honest. It'll be good to hear what the story line is.

Unfortunately thats same vibe i got from watching this vid, most popular spots on maps will be camped by organised groups of players for easy loot...
It's an early alpha, im sure they will address that mechanic going forward. it would make more sense to call for an extraction once you have completed some objective rather than head toward a choke point where you have campers just pissing about either chasing easy loot or just being wankers for the sake of it.
There will be different scenarios or raids as they call them, like this one that you will have to complete or rather, escape from (there's about 10 of them if remember correctly). Once you are done with all of them the whole map will open up for you to roam about, which is about 16km2 (it ain't exactly DayZ). But you can always go back to them to gather loot if you so desire.
I've played a little so far and it sure has huge potential and the feel of the game is amazing. Sound design is crazy good and you really wanna be careful about your movement as every step counts. The gunplay and the way the core gameplay feel is definitely right and on point, better than any other games in the genre if you ask me. I have high hopes for this game.
the extraction points need to be randomized each game, so the enemy doesn't always know where they are

For many years I was a fan of the Battlefield series, a big fan of RPG (Fallout 1 and 2, Jagged Alliance 2), then I was devoured by PUBG for a while, but after Escape from Tarkov I don't want to go back to other games! Because in Escape from Tarkov there is everything that I like so much !!!
