People shouldn't be allowed to own hamster or small animals if they aren't going to give them the correct floor space. I own 3 male mice who around 10 months old and I got 2 of them as baby's and since they grew up in the same habitat they don't fight they live in a 2 story red cage it's not the biggest but they get to come out of there cages on a daily basis most of the time. But my other boy started fighting with my other mice so we had to get him a separate cage which is the one he is currently in now but its to small so I will be getting a larger cage for him to live in on his own hopefully in a couple of weeks and he will have bedding as Well. I love learning about hamsters on your channel and only subscribed today even though I don't own a hamster but Maybe In the future 😊😊
You shouldn't really be keeping male mice together! It's far safer and better I'm general to keep them apart. If you want to keep mice together, keep females.
@@finley6161 yep tomorrow I am getting a cage for my male mouse. So they will all be in separate cages no need to worry they are all healthy and good 😊
@@rednyellowteddybear963 male mice can get along for a while, but one day one of them could do something that annoys the other which results in a serious fight. It's just not worth the risk.
I’m sure my mice would love running around in this, as a toy in either the cage or playpen but that’s one expensive toy. I cannot imagine forcing my mice to live in that full time- not even my boy.
The cage measurements (even the minimum), seem so tiny to me. I'm from Germany so I had to get some perspective, because I'm obviously used to the metric system. So I used my birdcage as a reference.... I simplified the numbers but it's 65x21 inches (165cmx54cm), so 1365 square inches (8910cm², also they are allowed to play in the living room throughout the day). But wow, 250 square inch is criminally tiny!
I'm from the UK, but look for German minimums (100x50? I believe) and would never go smaller than that, perhaps 90x50 for a robo but that'd be temporary. The American square inch is wayy too low :(
Do you think you would be able to make a video targeted more towards parents or adults education them on proper hamster care and cage sizes because I need to get my Syrian hamster a larger cage. He’s currently in a bin cage but he needs something larger. And my parents are more likely to list to someone who is more educated them me?!.
Don't know how I stumbled on to your channel but A LOT of problems I had with small animals growing up are now making more sense thanks to your advice, I'm nearly 30 and I have a 4-year-old little boy that loves animals and thanks to this happy accident I can avoid past mistakes I now know I made and have a better pet experience with my son when he gets a little older x
Munchie looks like she’s having fun in quarantine 😂 But seriously I can’t believe this is a cage someone though would be suitable for a hamster?!? Thank you so much munchie for bringing attention to these things
This channel has made me realize that when I was a kid, and I had a gerbil, I was not taking proper care of her. Her name was Ella… And I kept her in a tiny plastic and wire cage… One of the tubes are always come loose, and she constantly escaped. Which eventually got even more frightening, because at some point, I got my first dog. And she was a sight hound, a retired racing greyhound named Dru.
Munchie u have Taught me so much I have a tiny tales cage and now that I’m watching u I learned it sucks and now I ordered a prevue cage and have all the good stuff for my siran thank you for teaching me and a lot of other ppl
Omg. I bought some hamster accessories for my mouse from someone and she had a lot of these tubes and the cube. I couldn't find where it was from anywhere. I only use the cube. I put it under the bedding and my mice chill in there lol
I’ve been addicted to your videos ever since I discovered your channel last week and now I know a lot more about my dwarf hamster and I just ordered him a prevue pet products 528 universal small animal cage that you recommended and I gotta say thanks a million crazy hamster lady! I currently have three cages attached to one another and my hamster likes to sleep in some of the tubes but I’ve noticed he chews the bars every night and that the cages I have do not have adequate depth for burrowing except one. When my cage arrives I will discard the old ones and just keep the base from one of them for his sand baths
I'm getting a Prevue 528 for my Syrian hamster and while I was searching on Amazon I saw so many crappy cages and I'm glad I was able to find something actually good
Last Time I went on gumtree, English craigslist, i saw someone trying to rehome a hamster and its cage for €14.99 where the cage was Tiny as it was a Ware Manufacturing Spin City Health Club Habitat so i got some of my friends to help me adopt hom and the hamster lives is now happy and it lives in a bin cage. I asked the person about it and tried to correct them yet they said that thats what the pets store told them and there were two hamsters in that cage but one was alredy adopted. The person had the hamsters for 1 month and realised they didn't have Time for them. Devastating but even more unfortunate was the fact that both hamster had bites and scrathes yet the owber said was Just their fur. Plus the cage they lived in was way too smal for two hamsters and they were two female syrian hamster. I hope no other pets need to live in Such of an Animal prison
I have that cage, found it in a chairty shop and purchased it so no one else can use it! I use it as a travel cage, the monitor for how many times the wheel turns is awsome tho and I do hope to see it come to appropriately sized cages one day! Sad to hear the conditions of them hamsters but happy at least one is living an amazing life now!
I had the three story one that looked exactly like this cage for my mice. It was a pain to clean, I never used those pipes because they were too scared to go in them, they just went to the bathroom in them and it was an absolute mess. They also started chewing the plastic bottom, I moved them to a cage bin after, far easier to clean and more space horizontally for them.
When I got my hamsters they came in starter cages( I got one for Christmas and one from a home that was abusing her) I tried putting them in bigger cages, but they hated it. Any tips?
eating asmr I know you probably wanted munchie to answer this, but maybe your hamster was stressed from too much open space, so maybe add more hides and toys so it’s a bit more crowded.
If it had tubes you can try connecting it to the large cage/bin so they can go back and forth, or you can try letting them play in the large cage a few times a day over the course of a few days so they get used to it. Also put tons of bedding for them to burrow in, and some bedding from their old cage, their old toys and stuff (don't wash it so it has their scent on them) and make sure the cage is crowded, that there isn't a big open area in the cage (meaning you need to add lots of toys, tunnels, hideouts, bridge etc) because they might feel vulnerable and scared if there is too much open space. If you can get your hands on one a multi chamber hideout would be nice too, with a lid so it is nice and dark in there. It kinda replicates their burrow system so they'd like to use it as a nest, hide and get comfy in it
I own this cage for my hamster, but don't worry it is used as a travel and cage cleaning cage ONLY. My hammy lives in a very large DIY cage :) Also, I have blocked off the tubes so she can't get stuck (she is a female Syrian). All of the added cluttery tunnels have been removed and replaced with much more simple things. GREAT VIDEO MUNCHIE!!
I know this is a bad cage review, but I laughed SO HARD I CRIED at 11:17 when she’s rocking and the cat just raised his head to look at her like “what the fuck are you doing?! What’s wrong with you?!” Omg I’m dead 😂😂😂
small "hamster" cages like this (without the tubes) make great bird carriers for small to medium birds. i have a green cheek conure and i got a cage like this, put in a perch and a good bowl and used the water bottle that came with it and it works so great for travel!!
I get the impression these tube cages are suppose to bought with the idea that putting them together is a family fun time. I think kids will end up getting frustrated and leave the parents to do all the work. As a kid I begged my mum to buy my hamster a tube cage, she refused saying "those tubes are going to need cleaning and there is no way you are going to do that for 2-3yrs." How happy I am that she stuck to her argument and never bought me one. Not sure where one would fit all of the accessories: food, wheel, hide-outs etc.. those tubes take up all the space.
I have the tube pack that cost £30 because my hamsters cage isn't deep enough for 6 inches of bedding so I use the box area as like a burrow box and my hamster rlly enjoys it
Oh man I didn't expect seeing the mice exploring the cage to make me miss my little girls.... It's been years since they died, and idk I got recommended your videos out of the blue, and seeing all the small animal stuff made me... Nostalgic? for when I would excitedly make and buy all kinds of enrichment stuff for my pet mice. Now I have a cat, and live in a small apartment, so I can't really get mice again (don't wanna stress em out or risk nature taking its course...), but man this is making me miss having them... [Tbc I technically had the cat first, but ended up living somewhere that had a no pets rule (only place I could afford that wasn't ridiculous to get to for work... Rent prices are nuts), and I'd NEVER lived without pets before and couldn't handle it, so I asked if a small animal like a hamster or whatever was fine and the landlord said it was. Ended up getting mice (from a reputable breeder fuck pet stores) but yea. My cat stayed with my parents while I lived there (visited him constantly but yea). But then they died (of old age, one was just over 2 and the other 2 3/4), and I ended moving between the two deaths, and so yea. Just coincidentally tbc.]
I am currently in foster care, but when I'm able to go back home, I am going to be diy-ing a hamster cage using the Ikea Besta unit which is 192cm long x 60cm deep.
I have the prevue 528 and my hamster likes the level but I can’t really customize it while it’s in there so I’m getting her a 600 Square inch bin that I’m going to customize!
I love watching these! I really want a hamster but my parents said no, because I already have a fish that I saved from the carnival! Funny story I ordered what I taught was water conditioner it wasn’t I had to re order I’m 12
Poor babys who are put in there! I have one cute hamster and I got him a custom made cage to put onto my ikea rack. It's 135cm x 40cm x 60cm (roughly 53.15in x 15.75 x 23.62). My father even build him a second floor so add more space and he has about 6inches high bedding to play with plus toys (made of wood and straw and stuff like that). I first started with a smaller cage but he did not seem happy. That custom made "rodent terrarium" did cost me about 150€ (around 164 USD) but he seems to love it, so it was worth it!
I got one of mine from a "breeder" who had trouble trying to re-home them we got it because it was homes with 2 other Syrians at 8 weeks and in a tiny cage however there mother was kept in this and the farther in a even smaller cage .they said they wouldn't breed more then 3 months later while looking on the same website we saw they had a litter of 12 not 4 and was struggling to re-home them but we did not have the supplies so could take them to a safe place.
So, i have 2 male rats bean and belly. Belly is white and bean is dark grey with a white tummy. They have 2 square ft each and their cage is 3 ft tall and im worried that its to small...
I have a syrian hamster and I'd like to know why she doesn't burrow or tunnel. Her bedding is 10inches deep in nearly all areas but she never really digs in it

Just curious, what are your thoughts on people who chew others out on a mistake they did in the past that they already fixed? A lot of the hamster community members did this... their reasoning "they should've known that in the first place" but does it matter of its already fixed. Is it right to a degree or just toxic?
Hello! How much in bedding will it take to maintain the prevue 528? We don't have a hampster yet, but trying to research before getting one for my daughter at Christmas. Trying to figure out if we can afford to maintain the bedding, but want it to have enough room if we do get one. Thanks for any help in the bedding cost area. I've already researched a lot, but can't figure out what it's going to actually cost in reality. I'm not concerned with the cost of the cage or decking it out because we have saved for that part. Thanks, again.
I was wondering.... I'm in the process of getting an enclosure set up and ready for my new "fur bean" (what I keep referring to my future dwarf hamster baby as 😅). I've been watching these videos and have the correct size cage, plenty of chews & hides, etc. All I'm missing is my Fur Bean and the main reason for my question, food. What is the best quality food I can get?
I have a cage very similar to this one, but mine came with several pieces and accessories, but less tubes and without the pieces that form cubes, from what I saw the grids are similar, but mine are great because the hooks are different (solid grip), the position of the holes in the tubes are different, making them more comfortable and safer to use (although I don't use them), my model also came with 2 floors and appears to be much larger than the one in the video (with a more curved design as well). I currently use it as housing for 1 male rat with 4 years and 4 months of age who barely walks anymore because he is very old and well trained not to leave the cage without the command. Kendra Foster is a good rat! There are not many things for rodents in pet shops here in Brazil and when they do, they are very expensive. I learn a lot from your videos, not just about rodents, but I think your way of speaking very easy to understand and fun to learn English (I speak Portuguese). Thank you! Looking forward to the next video :)
I can't believe you've got a rat that's lived so long! That's amazing! Normally I'd be all over someone for keeping a single rat, but at that age, getting him a new companion seems kind of pointless and silly. I hope he keeps going for a long time though!
you can purchase the exact same cage with out the tubes for like 6 bucks in China. They are so expensive when they are repackaged and sold oversea. If you want to buy these wired cages, use Ali-express. Don't waste money, you can buy a lot more for your hamster with the rest of it.
Here where I live a cage like this would be luxury and also super expansive, I don't have hamster now, but if I ever get one again I would definetly buy an aquarium, I was really surprised to see how cheap aquarium tanks are compared to hamster cages here, my hamsters lived in bin cages but since I'm trying to avoid unecessary plastic, tanks are the anwser
I see that while you focus on hamsters, gerbils and mice, you have also rescued/fostered guinea pigs. I’m curious if there are any other species you would consider fostering/rescuing occasionally? Such as perhaps other rodents and small mammals such as rats, chinchillas, rabbits, degus, or more unusual animals? Just curious. Thanks!
I have a Syrian hamster his cage is over 450 square inches. But when I clean his cage once a month I put him in the Tiny Tales race car cage. Does that mean I’m stressing him out?
Finding a good hamster cage has always been the hardest part of hamster keeping I know because my hamsters had to get a new cage every time cuz they throughout every single cage I had in the past
Is it okay if I have a 40 gallon tank for my hamster and I connected to little cages like that just for him to have fun I change his cage up every once in a while but not to drastically cause I don’t wanna stress him out but is it OK if he has 40 gallon tank but I connect two small cages

I've never been this early and also I have a very troubling situation in my area. Someone on craigslist is giving away mice for food or pets. In the description it says they can frozen in needed or wanted which makes me think that they will freeze them alive. I cant rescue them. What can I do!!??
@@hannah5345 it's just their assumption and there is no other info pointing out that they did freeze the mice alive, how do you confront someone from just a mere assumption, for something they may or may not do? If they were weong that would be embarassing too. Maybe reccomended to find more info first confirm how they are freezing the mice THEN confront
You don’t have proof they freeze them alive, and you want to “rescue” but you’d just be providing them more money to go out and get/provide for more. Moreover people with snakes, monitors, etc might not be able to get food for their animals besides going to craigslist due to this whole issue of some good privately owned pet stores closing

i just wanna know why it's so tall ... they do know that hamsters can't, like, fly, right?
Maybe for a wheel
YASSSSSS MUNCHIE these are my favorite videos of yours!!
If you want to keep mice together, keep females.
rachel i guess but they did say the get along so and they were together as baby’s so it’s fine
Isabella van Namen good to hear
I Like It When Her Cat Was Just Laying In The Bed This Whole Entire Video! 😹😹
There are 2 cats!
@@sinyabun omg yea!
I'm from Germany too, and the US floor space is tiny, our cage has almost 1 m2 of floor space
I'm from the UK, but look for German minimums (100x50? I believe) and would never go smaller than that, perhaps 90x50 for a robo but that'd be temporary. The American square inch is wayy too low :(
There is also someone getting rid of a Russian dwarf in a TINY TALES CAGE with a $40 rehoming fee and I cant help it either:(((
Yes, where are they?
RaeAnna's Critters that’s crazy I just saved a Russian dwarf from a tiny tales cage🤭
Looking at thoes boxes, they remind me of companion cube. T_T ah the memories.

That base would be AWESOME as a sandbath
This channel has made me realize that when I was a kid, and I had a gerbil, I was not taking proper care of her. Her name was Ella… And I kept her in a tiny plastic and wire cage… One of the tubes are always come loose, and she constantly escaped. Which eventually got even more frightening, because at some point, I got my first dog. And she was a sight hound, a retired racing greyhound named Dru.
14:02 That’s an emotional roller coaster lol
Is it just me but she looks really pretty with her bangs swooped to the side😊👍
Munchie u have
Taught me so much I have a tiny tales cage and now that I’m watching u I learned it sucks and now I ordered a prevue cage and have all the good stuff for my siran thank you for teaching me and a lot of other ppl
Omg. I bought some hamster accessories for my mouse from someone and she had a lot of these tubes and the cube. I couldn't find where it was from anywhere. I only use the cube. I put it under the bedding and my mice chill in there lol
Aww that's so cute
I’ve been addicted to your videos ever since I discovered your channel last week and now I know a lot more about my dwarf hamster and I just ordered him a prevue pet products 528 universal small animal cage that you recommended and I gotta say thanks a million crazy hamster lady! I currently have three cages attached to one another and my hamster likes to sleep in some of the tubes but I’ve noticed he chews the bars every night and that the cages I have do not have adequate depth for burrowing except one. When my cage arrives I will discard the old ones and just keep the base from one of them for his sand baths
You have such an animated face; your expressions make these so enjoyable to watch.
TY KINDLY. I'm very expressive. My idol is Robin Williams and the amazing part about that is we are both ENFP's.
I can’t believe that some people actually spend 55 dollars on a tiny cage and I got an Ikea detolf for 27 pounds ( I live the UK ) off eBay.
I had a cage similar to than for my hamster but it was VERY temporary and he now has a cage with over 700 square inches of floor space
You should review some of the good cages on amazon, I’m sure we’d love to see which cages are actually good on amazon as well as the bad ones ❤️
Cute cat 🐈 🐱:)
You should add the cage they already have to a larger cage, so they feel they can go back to the other one if they want to. Just my opinion 😊
Crystal Henry E.E.P. --THIS IS A GOOD IDEA
Slowly let them play in the bigger cage for more times a day until they get used to it and you could let them be in it all the time as a home then
If it had tubes you can try connecting it to the large cage/bin so they can go back and forth, or you can try letting them play in the large cage a few times a day over the course of a few days so they get used to it.
The cat in the background 😼
I know this is a bad cage review, but I laughed SO HARD I CRIED at 11:17 when she’s rocking and the cat just raised his head to look at her like “what the fuck are you doing?! What’s wrong with you?!” Omg I’m dead 😂😂😂
small "hamster" cages like this (without the tubes) make great bird carriers for small to medium birds. i have a green cheek conure and i got a cage like this, put in a perch and a good bowl and used the water bottle that came with it and it works so great for travel!!
munchie omg ur so funny! i just found this channel and i love ur personality! thank u 4 ur work to educate ppl on animals 💕💕😊
You have a good mom, she was looking ahead at how you wouldn’t take care of it in 2-3 years as most children wouldn’t
I wish I knew what your cat was thinking lol. They look like your interrupting 4th nap-time.
Dont you just love it when ThErE's No InStRuCtIoNs!
Alternate title: Munchie suffering for 30 mins all for her hamsters.
If people call u stupid for struggling to put a hamster cage together they clearly have never done it before
I have the tube pack that cost £30 because my hamsters cage isn't deep enough for 6 inches of bedding so I use the box area as like a burrow box and my hamster rlly enjoys it
Oh man I didn't expect seeing the mice exploring the cage to make me miss my little girls....
That's awful all the that's a goodmgoal
I would rather use an IKEA detolf
This is the cadge I got my first hamster gladly I found you and he has a big tank now

Your cat is so chill.
That's cheap for all tha5
I got one of mine from a "breeder" who had trouble trying to re-home them we got it because it was homes with 2 other Syrians at 8 weeks and in a tiny cage however there mother was kept in this and the farther in a even smaller cage .they said they wouldn't breed more then 3 months later while looking on the same website we saw they had a litter of 12 not 4 and was struggling to re-home them but we did not have the supplies so could take them to a safe place.
12:00 cat I’m a kitty cat song plays x3
Maybe the box to wire attachment is for hanging from the top of the cage on the inside? Or attached to one of the inside sides?
THEIR AMAZINGLY CUTE
I would use that cage as a travel carrier
Kinda early? I dunno but I’m here!!
my prevue cage is coming may 10th! glad to be upgrading my little guy
theres a dinosaur tiny tale, will you be checking that out?

Hope you're doing well Munchie!
I have a syrian hamster and I'd like to know why she doesn't burrow or tunnel. Her bedding is 10inches deep in nearly all areas but she never really digs in it
what type of bedding is it?
If you make a mistake, realize it , and decide not to change it then that defines you as a person.

Why is this being quoted? O.o Confused by the context.
Munchie's Place oh because the other comment said something about how people don’t fix there mistakes about how they raise there hamsters
Munchie's Place I also want you guys to do a colab over chat or something cuz that would be. . . *YES*
Ok thanks 😊 I'm going to switch my cage cause my cage is desame as yours that you reviewed
I don't understand is 450 is the minimum how are they legally allowed to sell smaller cages?
amazon Canada is offering this cage for approx. $175 Canadian free shipping only colour blue
These cages looks cute and id honestly attach them to my bin 👀 ok maybe not thia one. It looks.like my hamster would be able to dip quickly
Oh the baby cats in the background OwO
most cage i the philippines are like that and its already so expensive for a small cage and it pissed me of so much.
I love your videos ❤️
My petsmart in my area is actually not selling the small cages anymore:) but my petco is still selling the tiny tails cage 🙄
Petco cant sell tiny tails
Tiny tails is a petsmart brand
Did you mix the pet stores up?
@@HughsBabe Most likely. Petsmart sells Tiny Tales whereas Petco sells Kaytee Crittertrails...
you can purchase the exact same cage with out the tubes for like 6 bucks in China.
Thanks!
She has said that she only will foster hamsters, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs, and occasionally cats :)
I have a Syrian hamster his cage is over 450 square inches. But when I clean his cage once a month I put him in the Tiny Tales race car cage. Does that mean I’m stressing him out?
No, that's fine! I do the same thing when I clean my hamster's cage.
Hope you’re doing well in quarantine!
Finding a good hamster cage has always been the hardest part of hamster keeping I know because my hamsters had to get a new cage every time cuz they throughout every single cage I had in the past
I have rats, but what are you supposed to do with weekly spot cleans if they pee absolutely everywhere 😣
Is it okay if I have a 40 gallon tank for my hamster and I connected to little cages like that just for him to have fun I change his cage up every once in a while but not to drastically cause I don’t wanna stress him out but is it OK if he has 40 gallon tank but I connect two small cages
I had tubes round my pld cage for my hamsters dont use it anymore it wad a robo but anyway he peed in it and it went through it was black inside and there was pee all over my windowsill :) i was young i forgot to clean it

Someone please tell me, my ham lives in a detolf but I do have his smaller pet store cage, can I use that for like a week while I go to my grandmas? If not what can I use while I’m traveling with him?
That can’t be big enough for a mouse how do u put enough enrichment in there and a big enough weel as well and a hide
I've never been this early and also I have a very troubling situation in my area. Someone on craigslist is giving away mice for food or pets. In the description it says they can frozen in needed or wanted which makes me think that they will freeze them alive. I cant rescue them. What can I do!!??
CHEW THEM OUT! message them and ches the heck outta them. Chew them out for freezing those poor babies ALIVE!
Message them and tell them that freezing them alive is not humane and there’s other ways to do it (If you know the other ways, talk about them too)
@@hannah5345 it's just their assumption and there is no other info pointing out that they did freeze the mice alive, how do you confront someone from just a mere assumption, for something they may or may not do? @@kittenmimi5326 ok, idc find more info first but they are sick if they freeze them alive
