- Tunkwa Lake in British Columbia Canada is excellent for rainbow trout fishing between April and June. In this video feature, @KittyKanhoffen joins Al Patton from Tunkwa Lake Resort. Together they search for rainbow trout that are feeding on chironomids and show you how to catch them by fly fishing with chironomid patterns under a strike indicator.

Great video; very informative and well hosted.
“You just need a little lift..” proceeds to do a bass tournament full body hookset. Can’t help but get caught up in the excitement. Love that about fishing
As always....fantastic!

Al Patton...he could catch fish in a puddle on the highway...the Steelhead Yarn Master!!!
That's the perfect description. 😆
Another awesome video. Thanks
Thank you Genesis J!
The gal does a great job Rod
+msapostle Thanks! She's indeed very good at it. :)
it's crazy how high those fish jump!!!! where I am they barely leave the water.
+Jeff Boyle Yep. :) This particular strain/variety of rainbow trout, Pennask rainbow trout, are known for their jumps.
Could be (assuming you're in BC) that you get mostly Blackwater bows, they like to fight deep. Super spotty, cool looking fish though!
@fishingwithrod wat is the best lure u use for rainbow trout?
+Jdubs2.0.0.0. IMO, a Gibbs Croc spoon. We have a couple of videos coming up featuring those lures for rainbow trout.

What state is this
+nicholas gerling The biggest one, Canada.
what happened to real fly fishing?
+Hookemups Outsourced to China. All fake now.
looked real to me? but out of curiosity, what would you consider "real" fly fishing? i thought this was pretty great...
+Fishing with Rod Made me laugh.
+Hookemups It would seem that when you start putting shot and a float on the line in a lake situation that a spinning rod would be and easier casting choice (especially if fishing at depths of 15+ feet). I guess it's not about how you fish, but how you want to fish. The 9 or 10 foot fly rod sure makes setting the hook on a long leader a lot easier and for some, much more enjoyable. Great video, I enjoyed.
