This video looks fantastic in HDR! It’s funny how this game gets the HDR right, and it’s soooo old now! Even the latest games are really hard work to look right in HDR. I’m pulling my hair out with CyberPunk 2077, but with a few mods it’s starting to get good, but black levels and RGB colours in HDR are a real pain.
I have a 400 nits monitor and it's not the best but if you tune it right you can get really good results not perfect but better than default settings, the lagom lcd website is a huge help and doom eternal has a perfect hdr implementation I never had problems tuning the hdr settings and being disappointed the one game I struggle to get good settings on though is red dead redemption probably because of my monitor spec's but even than red dead still looks great. I did watch your red dead video but because of my specs I still struggle to get good settings. any suggestions with the monitor I have?
It's cool that you're looking at older HDR Games too. Every HDR game I played since I got my new TV last year looked amazing because of your settings and I'm relieved that your videos appear at the top of my RUclips search when I'm in need for Settings.

Hier aber ein kleiner sprachlicher Tipp. Fast immer wenn Du "what" sagst, wäre das korrekte Wort eigentlich "that". Ich bin normalerweise nicht pedantisch was Sprache angeht, vor allem nicht bei Nicht-Muttersprachlern. Allerdings stört mich das jetzt schon seit Jahren und ich konnte nicht mehr anders, als es anzusprechen. Ich hoffe das ist in Ordnung für Dich. :)

Just good? I find it one of the better one out there. With certain settings on my Sony A95K and in the game? Wow. Out of the box actually I was a bit underrwhelmed. I now see you praise the HDR a lot here, that text in the thumb is a bit misleading then. :)
Trying to review technologies in idsoftware games is like shooting in our foot. Imagine without John Carmack or idsoftware our world would have been different.
I love this game's HDR! I like the look of messing with all the settings - maximum HDR brightness (16), slightly increased saturation (1.2), minimum black stops (-10.0), maximum white point (1.0), and 8.0 or 9.0 HDR max stops. Looks great on both my LG C9 OLED and my Samsung Q90B QLED.
Would appreciate more examples and explanation of settings. I don't know if you have your old TV but only suggesting settings for $2000-$3000 TV's is kinda meh. It would be amazing if you could suggest settings for cheaper or older TV's, like a $500 Hisense or TCL, a $1000 LG or Sony and then up to what you have now. Not very practical lol but it'd sure be helpful!
Sorry but that's not possible. First of al I would need to buy all of those TV's and then I would need to test the settings. That's not practicable in terms of the time I would need to spend on a video.

Cosidering there is barely any dynanism in the lightning it makes sense why it runs so well.

I have 600 hours in this game 😂 Played through all Ultra-Nightmare master levels and DLCs 😂 The best HDR in any game to date.

DOOM use more DCI-P3 & BT.2020 colors then any HDR game so far.
