You gave me a lot of ideas here Rick in this video. I hadn't thought of displaying my binders on their side, but it is a great idea. I also think you collection, as presented, is neat and tidy, which is always a plus in my book. Also impressed with the sheer variety of your PC. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Ahhh Chuck, I'd love to hear what ideas you have cause you have a great collecting mind. I tried once placing my binders vertically but I just had issues with sheets bending or folding. I also don't want to collect every set, so I purposely bought an oak shelf that will only hold about 30 sets. hahaha! Thanks for watching, Chuck. I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving!
Nicely done Rick! Yeah anything I have in binders I store horizontally. The way you have them is nice and they are easily accessible. I love that card from the 2014 Topps Heritage set in the style of the 1965 World Series cards. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Gannon, I love them horizontally. I had issues with the vertical. 2014 Topps Heritage is a great set with some very nice rookies. Thanks for watching and I hope you has a nice Thanksgiving!
Hi Rick! As I mentioned in our text thread, you have a beautifully curated collection. The binders are so well-organized, and I really appreciate the creative labeling. It’s also great to see that you've included binder sleeves for added protection. Do you have a particular set that you find yourself thumbing through more often than the others? I especially admire the 1983 tribute set to the 1952 Topps. It was such a clever idea, especially given the challenge of completing the original 1952 Topps set back in the day. I remember reading that the set was produced in Ireland, which I found interesting. As you pointed out, the cards are not as large as the originals, but I’m curious if the quality of the images and the colors is comparable. From what I can see, they look fantastic in the binder. I also think it's a nice touch that you added the originals of the players who didn’t have cards in the tribute set. The 2024 set looks great, but I think it’s a smart move to wait for the 2025 set to come out and see if it appeals to you. One advantage of that approach is that it will be released after the Dodgers have won the World Series! Thanks for sharing your awesome collection.
Thanks Terry! It's interesting you asked a particular set and I really don't. On a random night, I'll pick a random set and just look at it. Then I always say to myself, 1970, 1979, 1965, etc...is a really nice set. I do enjoy seeing the cards of my youth and have memories of guys that barely played but I knew something about them. That 1952 set, I also remember seeing ads when it was released in 83. It wasn't cheap, I think was like $39.95 or $49.95 something like that. I honestly feel the images are not as nice, maybe use of the smaller size. I also wish they had used the cardboard stalk from the old days or what they'd use for Topps Heritage. The card stock is more like looking at 1983 Topps Traded. Yes, the completist that I am insisted I buy the five original cards not included in the set. The Tommy Holmes was the priciest of the five. I am holding off on which 20's set to buy. I still haven't seen a 2025 design. Fanatics is already getting on my nerves modern card wise so I may just buy the 2024 Topps set and call it a day. I may not buy the team sets going forward. Thanks for watching, Terry!
Good stuff Rick. Next set to collect…well with the choices you gave, I’d say the Heritage set in the ’75 style. But, really Rick you gotta keep pounding away at any vintage pre-1980 sets (looks like you have all the 70’s sets). Modern sets are too easy for you. Pick something more challenging that really gets the collecting bug going. That’s just my thoughts. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a blast collecting it.
Hey Mitch! Oh when I talk to someone like you, I always want to build another vintage set. Doing something like 2024 isn't building, it's just buying a set which is a lot easier. After that I'll have to think about which vintage set I'll build. Could be 55, 61 or 67, we shall see. I hope you and your family had a very happy Thanksgiving !
Very well organized. I've thought about getting the 52 reprint set from 83 too and the Brooklyn one as well. Like you when I wasn't really collecting too i picked up the 2001 2002 archives sets which are also great as well as the 96 97 mantle sets 97 mays aaron clemente and Ryan sets. I would probably complete the 2024 set i like the design. Enjoy Thanksgiving with your family my friend.
Thanks Jesse! The funny thing was I honestly bought the 1952-1956 reprints cause I had no clue I was ever going to build those team sets. Same with 2014 Topps Heritage, I didn't think I'd ever build the 1965 set. CRAZY! I have never bought a Topps Archive card. I'll have to check them out. I hope you and your family had a very nice, Thanksgiving!
Most difficult and expensive non premium 2024 set to complete will be Topps Heritage Mini. But it might be too late, a lot of the SPs are getting very hard to find.
Oh my, I don't know if I want to do a Mini-Set for Heritage. I am getting annoyed with Fanatics as it looks like they won't be releasing high numbers for this years set and there is no guarantee a 2025 Heritage set will get released.
Thx for sharing, Rick. Great channel. Just subbed. Love your sets. I didn’t know the Topps re-prints were complete sets. I have a few of them just for certain players; like the 53 Satchel. But I think the complete sets may be worth having because I will never build one of those early to mid 50s sets and they’re fun to look at. I love that era cards. Maybe some of my favorites. Cheers. PS which 20s set to collect? Maybe as a Dodger fan I’d do 25. Could be some WS cards in there. I’m a Mariners fan since their inception.😜 I’ve just been collecting their teams sets year by year.
THANKS Dave! I just subbed to your channel. Yeah, the reason I bought the 1952 Topps reprint was I remember the publicity they received back in 1983 and I knew I would never build that set, so I bought this one. I don;t buy too many reprints, but I made exception for the 1952 sort and the Dodgers 40th anniversary set. For the 20's. I have maybe 5-10 strip cards, all Dodgers, The one Dodger team set I do own is the 1927 W560. There are just so many strips cards that are expensive that I can't keep up. LOL. Still debating on 2025 set. Luckily I have time! I am waiting for a Mariners World Series. Thanks for watching! I'll check out your channel, Dave!
Hey Rick…my answer would be to wait the decade out then make a decision. The Dodgers might very well win more World Series and you don’t want to pull the trigger then wished you would’ve pursued a later year. Question for you…have you ever made an attempt to collect the 1955 Topps set? I know it’s a spendy one but as a Dodgers fan it’s a historically significant one. Thanks for sharing your card sets. Happy Holidays to you 👍
Todd, that's actually a great idea. We're still in the era. I am debating what to do still. I have thought of making 1955 the next set to work on. I only have one rule if I build it. I have to buy the Clemente card first in a PSA 2. After that I can start building the set. I am getting tired of having the most expensive card be the last one I own. I already own the Dodger team and Killebrew RC, so getting Clemente would really be the one HUGE card to buy. I'd still need Mays and Aaron but they are not as expensive. I may make a video about what my next set will be and explain my strategy regarding several sets I'd like to build. Always appreciate your feedback, Todd! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Great set accomplishments. I too prefer to store my binders on the flat. Less potential for damage that way. Although I no longer do modern sets, there is something with the 2024 that appeals with me.
Daniel, totally agree, I like them flat. Plus since I use the team card and it's horizontal a card so helps with my OCD . Thanks so much for watching. Happy New Year!
Appreciate meeting you this year Rick. I would say either the 2024 Topps set since I think it was a unique design and homage to the WS win yeah dodgers! Or wait for the 96 throwback. Sorry not super helpful.
Oh my, that's a lot of binders. Pick your favorite set and only work on that one. When you finish one set, you'll feel a huge relief on your shoulders.
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector Maybe. The missing cards to some sets take so long to get because they are overpriced or would be easier to just get the set and dump the progress
Gotta love binders!
Oh yeah! You got that right!
Amazing collection of complete sets! I am assembling my dad’s collection in binders. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you! What sets was your dad workin on?
Hey Rick, love the way you display your card binders. Looks really cool and different.
Thank you, Mike! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Great idea showing the team card of the World Series winner on the outside!
