Working at the height of his formidable powers, Ken Russell braids a whole new layer of story onto the hit stage musical that made Julie Andrews a star and opens it up to some astonishing flights of fancy. Wrapping a narrative frame around the original - a seaside theatrical company mounts a production of the '20s musical spoof The Boy Friend - allows Russell, in turn, to explore and parody the conventions of '30s musicals with elaborate fantasy sequences, slapstick, and sentiment. A very underrated musical an homage to the 20s
I love this movie! And this song is very, very cute! One of my favorites! I had The Boyfriend LP at that time and listened to it again and again!
The Boy Friend - 1971 portrayed by Twiggy is an amazing movie and has great musicals and songs.

And it's criminal that they've never come out with the soundtrack on CD with bonus cuts.
@@joebrewer4529 It is somehow criminal that the bonus cuts were never released on CD. All of Twiggy's singing and acting career should be released on CD and DVD.
Ken Russell said on casting Twiggy who had no previous singing or dancing experience "give me three months and I'll have her dancing like Ginger Rogers and singing like Judy Garland." I have to admit he did a good job.
Ken Russell did a good job. Twiggy is a true singing, acting and fashion star of all time. She is the queen of arts in all its glory.

When my Paw Paw played this song for me it made me miss my mom so much I cried for her.
