Finetec and Coliro were previously one company, now split into two brands with somewhat different distribution areas. Finetec has rectangle pans, Coliro, the original, has round pans. (Previously Finetec as one company had round pans.) The company that bought the original worldwide distribution rights didn't like that it was hard to get the the amount they wanted, the production time was longer since the paints were handmade from a smaller family owned company etc. So they contacted another bigger German manufacturer and started developing their own line with the square pans. The new company doesn't mention they are handmade so it looks like they scrapped that detail. Many of the colours are overlapping between the two brands but not all.
There is a month dedicated to watercolor. It’s World Watercolor Month and it’s run by doodlewash. There is an entire Facebook group dedicated to it. It has a month of prompts.
I made a list of what the watercolour month should be and this is the list I made. January - Wanuary, jaqua February - Watercolouary, febuaqua March - warch, maqua April - wapril, aquapril May - way, maqua June - watercoloune, coloune, aqune, July - watercoly, aquly, August - Waugust, Augua, September - watember, aquember October - waterctober, watober, aqutober, oquatober November - watercovember, aquember December - watercember. I personally feel like maqua and oqutober work best.
I hope you do more videos like this one. I wish had had more opportunities to attend a stream, but life gets in the way! and for some reason I am doing something most times when I get told your online! I enjoyed this video and look forward to your next one! Oh! Even your Paletteful Packs videos are super fun!
She’s beautiful,I love her hair and those new paints look pretty too,I should imagine they look much better in real time as the camera never seems to pick up metallics and pearlescent paints so well. 🥰
I just found you and I’m sooooo happy. I love your personality and I’m learning a lot from you. I think you are my friend but you don’t know yet 💎 Thank you for sharing your gift.
Hugo Alice, I got divorced 9 years ago and have no family so am totally on my own, only see people when I go to town. I LOVE MY ART I do at least one watercolour a day sometimes two, I've done 5his all through the pandemic, it gives me something to focus on everyday for my anxiety. I can actually see my improvement too,!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh, those are gorgeous! I find that metallic/pearlecent/glitter paints typically work better as accents on top of watercolors or watercolor pencils rather than being used as stand alone.
Thank you for another great vlog. I am hoping after I have surgery on my wrist i can start to learn watercolor and more formal art. I color a lot and try to sketch some, i want to get more consistent. Really enjoy your channel, thank you!!!!!
I once found the full set (at the time) of 66 Coliro Pearlcolors for a fantastic price and couldn't resist. At least six new colors have since been released. Mine are in round pans, which as I understand it are the newer design.
Mmmm... shiny.... This turned out really cool, and those metallic paints are gorgeous! Your reasons for using colored pencil (or watercolor pencil) on top of your watercolor paintings are the same as mine! You can really fine tune with detail and color plus get those darks to pop.
Fine tec are amazing, I have so many of their sets. Instead of a month you could do a weekly during a season (Watercolor Wishes Winter Wednesdays.) I love alliteration.
I absolutely hated the colors that you started with in this painting, and for the life of me I couldn’t envision how they could turn into something so cool. I think instinctively I did expect some mud from those colors, and they seemed so vibrant that I didn’t expect them to recede into the background the way that they did. I really love the result. The metallics are fun, and I really want to try some.
Coliro does sell a few more proper colorshifting paints than the ones in this palette (the newest one, "Pegasus", was just released like three weeks ago!), so if you wanted more of their colorshifting paints you might want to head straight to their online store! While the palette lineups and the palette shapes might be different between Coliro and the American Finetec, I don't know if there's any major differences in the paints themselves, but you'd think they'd be roughly the same since they are still the same company
Love the painting (although tbh I feel the Posca Paint frame was a bit overdone). But the painting itself & the metallic highlights & frame were just stunning & a great way of demonstrating the pearlescent watercolours in an actual project instead of just searching like most people do. She looks so vibrant & like she’s hiding in a sun dappled green jungle.
Since you are into making characters with plant hair. You absolutely have to do a girl with the hindu rope plant aka hoya carnosa compacta. It will be the absolute best plant to do curly fun hair. Just a thought. Anyway love this piece and have a great night!
Don't know if you know but there is a watercolor month. It's world watercolor month (july) dreaming zebra and doodle wash do it together to raise money for art supplies for schools

The best part of this is it sounds like you had fun. We forget to have fun …. To me, that’s the main goal!
You could call a watercolour month aqua-ember (Aqua as in water )and have it in September😊😊😊
