Been watching these videos a bit recently. Fortunate not to have a rat issue at all. Have the occasional mouse in the garage or loft but nothing major.
Very impressed with these chaps. Very thorough. Had a look on the website and the costs for the Lifetime thing were surprising. Thought it would be substantially more
    Very impressed

Had a look myself and I still think approximately three grand is dam expensive

@Stunl3y Have to disagree. With long term issues like this that amount of money to deal with the problem is good value in comparison to alleviating the problem.
The costs of repeated visits from other companies, poison, traps property damage, discarded food, cleaning etc will soon mount up.
Once rats are in they will not just go away. Its not as simple as remove the food source.

I appreciate that you show your work and how you solve these issues. Where I live in the USA, I don't see rats, but we have mice in every soffit vent or HVAC cavity in every property. I have a "gift" of being able to hear their communications by hearing the frequencies they communicate. I'm unfortunately learning everything I never wanted to know about mice and their habits. The interesting thing is most people will never know there are mice in their home or apartment. For example, the mice here only one or two rodents go out to get the food. They go out by openings on the outside such as gable vents, or under eves, under shingles, or any opening. The rest of the mice are in every room at near the ceiling in the soffit vents or the HVAC vent cavities. Once the alpha mouse goes out and brings the food in a couple of those inside will then deliver the food to the rest. Once the food is in, all mice in the building have food within 30 seconds. The mice here eat a vegetarian diet. Where I am now, they eat holly bush berries and crape myrtle berries. At prior properties they ate cedar tree berries (this was their favorite). They eat acorns which we have a huge supply in fall and winter. I notice they prefer berries, seeds, nuts, because it's easy for them to share to the rest of the family. They are thriving in my city because there is abundant food that is result of the plants and trees people put around their houses and apartment buildings. I could probably write a book on my miserable experience having to hear them constantly. They communicate inside with ultrasonic sounds almost constantly. Its unnerving to me to have to hear it. I know where every single mouse is and that most of them never move from their current location. They stay in place waiting on food to be brought in. Anyway, I am rambling. Long term I will need to buy or build a house that is free of openings to prevent them from getting in. I have not been able to eradicate them from the properties I lived in since noticing my ability to hear them. It's almost impossible because they are tenacious, and they can fit or make their way in. Most of the places I lived at were old buildings which were too much to undertake to permanently seal them out. The place I am now is a new apartment building and it has them too. I have found the openings, and the management is supposed to be addressing them. I watch your channel for insights how you get rid of them. Thanks for sharing your work.

Thanks for the very informative videos fellas great to watch and learn about the damn things , my question is after having been a plasterer for years i bought an old place no footings just built on clay and I've had damp problems galore but tackled most of it , anyway the whole downstairs is plastered but!!! I have this one corner that I've hacked off and done again and again 😢 , you see theres an odour coming from below ground and i really don't know what it is , its a very strong ammonia type smell and if i plaster it up gets stronger ,so ive created some boarding over it that can be removed , which keeps it below a tolerable level otherwise its stinking the house out , any ideas, is it connected to these damn things , thanks for your help fellas😊 👍

@johngray3585 I have a similar problem in one corner of my old house, that’s just caused by a damp wall that never gets sun. If you are worried about rats this is what I would recommend:
Take the plasterboard off again. Put something like a tray of oats in the cavity.
Make sure you make the oats level with the top of the tray so you can see if even a little bit goes.
Seal the wall back up. Leave for a few weeks.
      Check it.
If the oats are disappearing, you got rats (or mice).
