Confessions of a Party Princess: BULLIED BY AN 8 YEAR-OLD

  • You know what's so not fetch? Being roasted by an 8-year old and GENUINELY getting your feelings hurt. Here's my experience at a Girl-Scout Daddy Daughter Dance dealing with a clique of mean girls out for blood. And yeah; this brought on some very real high school flashbacks *shudders*.
    In all honesty, I tend to be a dramatic person by nature so I want to go ahead and throw that out there to put a little context behind all the sass in this video. I wish all the girls the absolute best, for all I know they will be completely kind adults. I don't want to judge them too harshly by one interaction and I ask that those of you in the comments, keep in mind they are still KIDS. Please be kind.
    P.S. I don't really know if she was 8, but that's my best guess and it's catchy -- hope that's not too big of a deal.
    Hey to all you newbies! I've gained nearly 18% of my 669 subscribers in the past month, (mainly in the last few days) and I couldn't be more excited. I am so grateful for all of you thinking I'm cool enough to constantly bother you with my shenanigans in your subscription box. Definitely motivating me to hop on some more videos, heading towards weekly uploads (but I've said that so many times, so I wouldn't blame you if you don't believe me). Lots of fun stuff in the works so I hope I don't disappoint!
    (Copy & pasted from a previous description box, but it's still relevant) In super-top-secret-no-one-know-about-this news; I'm toying with the idea of creating my own princess blog/resource center/website. It'd be completely interactive and helpful to those just starting out or just a great place to connect for intermediate to expert party princesses alike! That said, it's in the very early stages of development, so don't expect anything more than to maybe hear about it in a description box or two.
    AURORA COSTUME SPECS------------------------------------------------
    The dress is one of many from Angel Secret and it's really nice & park accurate but no BS, it's not as sturdy as other dresses I've got from them so beware.

    I'm from England, I just stumbled across your channel just now. Honestly, I have so much respect for all you do & your passion for these roles. It can't be an easy Job at all todo, but like you and your friend said. It also comes with rewards. I'm sorry you had to endure those nasty little girls, those are the worst ever. I have a 4 year old girl, & I know for a fact she would DIE seeing all you Disney Princesses. She is the BIGGEST girly girl & Disney crazy! We're going to Walt Disney World just me and her next year for her 5th Birthday. And I know she is going to be going crazzzzy seeing all the Disney Princesses. There will be children out there who are brought up correctly & are a kind gentle innocent soul just like yours. I'm sorry your Disney Audition didn't go as planned, but I hope you go back and try again. Try try and try again until you get it as you most definitely deserve it and you ooze Disney Princess 🤗keep up the hard work and don't let anyone knock you down (especially bratty little kids)! much love from here in England! Hope to see your smiley face one day in a Disney Park 😁💙

From the sound of it the princesses there are going to enjoy meeting her as much as she enjoys meeting them! I'd love to be able to see you at a Disney park one day too, that's why I just gotta stay patient and passionate about the end goal! Thank you so much for all the kind words, I hope you both have a magical trip :)

      Also yes, I admit the event did have some parents not willing to cooperate, but I don't want to dwell on that kind of stuff. Besides, it's not my place to judge parenting. I cosplay as a hobby, and have gone to lots of comic conventions, I mostly cosplay as Harley Quinn. One time, I was cosplaying as Roller Derby Harley Quinn from the DC New 52 Comics (with the split black/red pigtail wig since Harley has her hair black/red in those comics.) I stopped to take photos and let kids hug me when their parents stopped me and my boyfriend on the con floors (my guy was cosplaying Harvey Bullock from Batman to my Harley.) And one of the parents little girls, unlike her Batman die-hard little brother, was not into me as Harley. Was she rude! All, "Harley has blonde hair w/ blue + red in the movie! Aren't you a little short to be Harley? You don't have white pale skin, it's olive-tanned." and even when I was smiling, keeping calm, trying to talk in Harley's accented-Brooklyn-like sweet voice, when we were posing for a pic, the girl attempted to try to snatch up my wig pulling at it to try to rip it off! (Thank god for bobby pins and wig pins holding it down tight!) It was my 1st experience ever having a rude girl dressed up as a My Little Pony Flutter-Shy trying to snatch-grab at my wig. Thank god the parents stepped in, apologized to us, I let it go lol, said it was alright, posed more for photos with the little brother who was dressed up as a Gotham Arkham Prisoner.

    As a princess (especially Aurora or Belle or Snow White), have you ever had a child comment on the less-than-savoury interpretations of the story, such as why it was okay for Prince Phillip to kiss you while you were asleep? How would you balance the honesty of “it’s not okay for people to kiss you in your sleep” without destroying the magic of the story and your character?

There was another event when I was with an Elsa that I didn't really know and she was the absolute WORST. She was rude, ignoring the kids and instead of telling me my wig was slipping was grabbing it and pulling on it to set it. Most of the princesses at that event were ignoring the kids in fact and that was annoying I was asked specifically to be there as Anna which was weird because there are so many groups and she turned me off doing events anymore because now she does all the local events. • @NatalieEverAfter
      @NatalieEverAfter  5 лет назад +1

      I've never really been a master at covering acne, I find it's largely a matter of determination and luck if a pimple is able to be concealed. I mostly just focus on being proactive with skincare so I don't have to stress too hard about makeup. But the more I get my routine down the more likely I'd be to do a video!!
      As far as self-harm scars, I've been lucky enough to not have ever gotten to that point, so I wouldn't be comfortable giving advice on the subject. And warranted or unwarranted, I think you need to hear that you are amazing and deserve love, most importantly self-love. You obviously have a huge heart wanting to do this job that we both care about so much, embrace that. If for nothing else, be patient and kind with yourself so you can be a princess and a great role model for kids. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help or someone to hear you. Don't let that stop you from getting started. I'm a size 10 and never had a kid say that to me. I honestly don't think kids focus too much on size. Like, if you have the hair, makeup, and the dress, you ARE the princess. In those big beautiful dresses, it is also more difficult to see someone's size in my experience. No matter what size you are I know you could be an awesome princess. What really matters more is having someone who can engage and act like the princesses with kindness rather than having a $500 costume and a size 0 frame.

      In all honesty, this was a rare gem of a party where I didn't think about my weight at all...
      Usually, it's my biggest insecurity and at times it's been debilitating. I had an eating disorder in high school/middle school and when I started princessing, it brought on numerous panic attacks to the point where I would just about cancel a gig on a "fat" day.
      In this specific case, none of them mentioned anything about it, so I don't think that was a factor for those girls deciding to be rude to us. Usually, parents (if anyone) are the ones to notice.
      But I do want to throw you a bit of support and say you can princess at just about any size. At the end of the day, its the interaction with the kid that matters -- not size or price tag on the dress, but that genuine connection you make when you convince a kid that you're the real deal. I cannot understand more the mental restraints coming from self-inflicted body dysmorphia, but when it comes to how others see you, weight won't be the thing to hold you back if you don't want it to be.

    • @ericatilley382
      @ericatilley382 5 лет назад +1

      @@NatalieEverAfter Awww you are not alone at all in those thoughts and actions. I have struggled with my weight, being a size 16 through middle school, high school, and college. I never thought I'd be allowed to be a "Princess" and used to look on from the sidelines as friends cosplayed. Now I am 29 and almost too old (even though I look young thankfully), but I've lost 70lbs and am now a size 8 and still feel too fat, but it's now or never for me! So that's part of my insecurity still clinging on when I ask that. You are doing a wonderful thing bringing joy to all of these kids. I love watching your videos and living vicariously through you! I have some wigs on the way and working on some dresses (Ariel and Elsa to start), hoping to get going soon! I can't thank you enough for your videos. 💗

    Hi! I love ur videos and I've been wanting to be a Disney princess at Disney or just for parties and I'm a super passionate Disney fan. I'm 5'1 and dark brown hair and eyes and I'm tan with a very round nose and wide eyes. Im not moana tan I'm more like a lighter Jasmine. My boyfriend said Jasmine or belle would be a good bet but I was wondering how to look good with a blonde or red wig when u have dark hair

      Hi there, thanks for supporting me and my videos -- it's nice to see you reach out! As far as tips for making a lighter wig work for you; I'd say it's all about attention to details. Your wig cap should be impeccable and not a single flyaway showing, something like that can really break the illusion. And secondly, eyebrows are super duper important to get right. If you find that you have trouble getting the color to show up over dark brow hair, brush some concealer through your eyebrows with a spooly! It works wonders. Hope that answered your question! :))))

    I know right Natalie when I would be wearing colored hair of clip in or body wave little gurl's & Hispanic women come up to me staring at my colored ombre purple pink body wave,I remember 1 little gurl was reaching for my hot pink clip in on my high way ponytail.public people want to touch my colored hair when I wear my ombre purple pink body wave I can feel the energy: that's what they want to do but they can't touch another person.I'm like (you can't touch my hair its not yours) my mom would never believe if some stranger touched my hair mom would yell at me tell the doctor on me & give me more medications.even if I have a ponytail or any hair extensions I wear people want to touch it but if its a person I know that's already they can touch my hair.🍓

    Do you have eyelash extensions or falsies? They look so good❤️!

      Both actually! When princessing, I love to make my lashes super extreme. If you can't bat your eyelids and fly away, there's not enough lash.
