2:12 Jody i dont know where you keep getting that from who ever told you that dont know what they're talking about when Jimin said he doesn't like to see old clips of himself from the early days he meant he gets embarrassed by how he came off in performances on stage etc and he still gets embarrassed watching his performances to this day his band mates even tease him about it and he would be cringing watching hinself on camera they were not forced to do hip hop they all loved hip hop and still do that doesn't mean they cant explore other genre's they kept evolving to grow their audience and it worked they do pop rock latin pop RnB EDM etc. and Hip Hop still to this day please check out the Run BTS dance practice I beg you 🙏🏼 and you cant tell me Jimin's Set Me Free isn't hip hop and his song Face Off you need to hear that one too you will realise Jimin is still heavilly hip hop influenced

Jimin definitely liked hip-hop and even learned hip-hop dancing when he was young. The problem was that Jimin felt like he had to pretend to be manly and tough, which isn't really him. He was able to later find himself and be who he truly was when the band started exploring other genres and not having this tough badboy hiphop concept. They found a good balance and all the members were more comfortable to be themselves. Jimin especially had a hard time because he's a perfectionist. He also didn't have much vocal training and was very anxious about his voice and looks. Thankfully, as they all got older, they matured and learned to love themselves the way they are. They taught us to do the same as well. 💜
Jimin is now and has always been himself. ☮☮
In the beginning, he did say it was hard for him to feel like he had to be manly. Later, when BTS changed their style and sound, he was able to be himself more and stopped feeling like he had to pretend to be tough like before. Jimin stated this himself in one of the documentary series I believe.
BTW I just want to say, it's not that any of these boys were forced to dress or act different to who they were by the company, they were all very young, all experimenting and finding themselves, all happy and in control of their own art.

Yes, I think it's a bit of a misunderstanding. Were they all in control of their own art at debut? No. That came later with a little more experience and maturity. I do agree that it was more like Jimin was finding himself, as opposed to being forced to be "tough" or "hip-hop". Jimin very much loved hip-hop and still does. Also, lets not forget Jimin grew up in Busan. A community where men have a reputation for being, and I do not like this word, "manly". Everything Jimin has experienced up to this point has made him who he is today. Let's just continue to love and support Jimin.
its not false too because they also admit it by themself later that they need to wear some outfit to fit the individual concept. i mean did you know that jimin never wear sleeveless shirt before (because he doesnt want to)?? but he need to wear it for their debut.
@@arryanariz My point is to diffirenciate between being forced to and being told to, talking to the members and deciding by himself that he wanted to do for the team. They make countless sacrifices for each other throughout time, things that they wouldn't chose for themselves, but it doesn't mean they were FORCED to do it. It's like saying that RM and Suga were forced to dress in pastel clothing with more feminine light colors, act bubbly and sing boy with luv. No, those may not have been their first choices or something they'll wear or act like all the time but it was their choice to do it. Just like with Jimin and other members during debut.
They just thought some stuff was cool at the time. As we all did. We just didn’t go through phases in front of millions of people online 😭

I’m not sure which Armys are telling you Jimin wasn’t being himself and forced to do hip hop. I’ve probably watched almost all BTS content since they started and Jimin never said he was forced. However jimin does mention being embarrassed seeing himself making certain gestures during performances. He was young, so many artist laugh at themselves in their younger days. Before joining Big Hit, not only was Jimin in contemporary dance but also hip hop. I believe you saw him in hip hop class before big hit during Guide to BTS. Also they all came in to BTS knowing it was hip hop. The only one I believe wasn’t truly hip hop as a young person was Jin, he says that in American hustle life.
Jimin did say in one of the documentaries that he felt like he had to pretend to be manly and tough because that was their concept. They weren't forced, but Jimin did say he felt better when they changed their style and sound so he could just be himself.

BTS started as a hip hop project and transitioned into an idol group with an hip hop focus. As they grew as artist they started to incorporate more genres into their artistry/music. Their core hasn’t changed. 😊

The guys has always been hip hop,even Jimin.I have been Army for 6yrs. and I have never heard Jimin say that he didn't feel like he wasn't being himself doing hip-hop but I did hear him say that he didn't want to rap because he didn't think that he was good at it.Jimin started practicing hip-hop in highschool and even competed at times.Jimin is more masculine than you think.I haven't seen your reaction to Set Me Free.Very masculine.Kion did you ever research the amount of crime in Korea that didn't involve black folks 😂😂😂 ITS A LOT!!!
Jimin loves hip hop that is true, but Jimin very tearfully said that he is grateful to be able to be himself instead of pretending to be something he is not. I think that's where most of the confusion comes from. It had nothing to do with liking hip hop.

No doubt. He is top #1 best dancer even the SK minister of culture, sports & tourism knows Jimin. The Only musician who got 3 national awards and 1 of which is which he gained from the fan dance. No one on his level. Others are great in their own league but Jimin is the GOAT.
