Being at the mercy of the mountain is tough. We did not have anything this bad. Did get caught in downpour after showers after baldy hike. Chilly and wet, little hiding places. Maybe circling up with heads in middle so packs helped shield each other. Tuck those heads low and packs high as you can to protect head and torso. Grab a big flat rock to help protect the head. This is a reason i was glad to move out of baldy town. Wet all the time and long hike to camp.

Yeah. Circle up and deploy the umbrella would have been smart... if I remembered i had an umbrella.
