I find this game to be so comfy, low pressure, addictive, simple, smooth and fun!! Great for short bursts of play I love it! I love how they gave us a smaller more compact game while we wait for the next rune factory games 🥰
Agree with your review a lot. Only played demo so far, got my physical copy yesterday but haven't had the chance to play that yet. Big RF and SoS/HM fan and was sad that all we got were a wooly and cow cameo, but I do enjoy the lil dungeons so will finish the game for them.
Much like Harvestella, I think a lot of people went in expecting this to be a farm-sim. I played the demo and enjoyed it. Reminds me of Hades but way easier. Thanks for giving your thoughts on the DLC!
Oh! I had no idea swapping characters mid-run added a buff. Useful to know! Thanks! Great review, I love the mindless dungeon crawling for better loot loop so I’ll continue getting each character to level 10 in the demo and then wait to get the full game for Christmas.
From what I gathered playing the demo, and this video, I definately think this game has a lot of potential. I really, really hope they make a sequel in a similar gameplay style in the future, especially if it has the option of multiplayer. My friend and I played the demo together and we kept thinking how fun the abyss would be playing it together. And maybe making the crafting section more engaging would be fun too. Might even be cool if they had the option for players to split between abyss / base camp or exploring different parts of the abyss at the same time or something. Totally agree with the DLC, this feels like it would have been a great chance to have more Rune Factory references in the future. Maybe the sequel might let us play as Rune Factory (and maybe even Story of Seasons) characters!
In the demo you can beat the boss as many times as you like, yes it will bring you back at the title, but if you continue it shows the things you got in the run so it does save everything for the full game
Wasn't really sure what to expect going into this game, but I've been enjoying it quite a bit so far! I really like all the characters, especially the farmer - she's freaking adorable! But yeah if you're expecting a lot of connections/similarities to Rune Factory/Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon there isn't much in that department.
I played the demo for this a little while ago and thought the game was ok but not a must buy. Thanks for the info about how things don't change much the further you get into the game. This is one I'll probably wait for a good sale on if I decide to pick it up.
The main story was really good i really liked the story about the kingdom, listening the princess talking to you while you'r farming & co was really good. ( there's changement related to the main story who are really great but don't want to spoil ) I didn't had time to do the hard and master mode but for now it's pretty easy because like you said somtimes you use a character so much that he overpower the map so you'r not really motivated to swap on another character, i tried to play differents characters but i was often at the point where i was saying to myself ( i'm gonna play him after grabbing a good weapon for him so he can lvl up easily ) and before realising i was already fighting the final boss of the main story. It's a fun game even if repetitive, if there was more social interaction in the game and more features management i think this could be great serie.
The weapon system in this game is atrocious, not only it is a random drop that will be obsolete in 30 minutes, you still have to craft each one. By the time you process enough resources to craft ONE weapon for ONE character, that weapon will be already obsolete and you'll have a better blueprint. I would love for some permanent upgreadable weapon system for each character, would make the game much more fun and progression smoother.
Farmer is better than wanderer. It is the only character with a healing buff early on and can cc well. I do think they all work well and can interchange well. I just think some are easier to use than others.
Hi, Josh could you make a video in which you review the kickstarter campaign of wholesome out and about? It's an upcoming cozy and educational game, so you won't feel guilty when playing it 😁. In this game you learn plant identification for foraging as well does it provide cooking and crafting recipes for real life. Also it broadens your farming knowledge like not so many other farming games does for instance it teaches companion planting (which plants should be planted next to each other for them to grow better). Moreover, if you like romance it will be included as well. Currently they are running their kickstarter campaign! PS: I know I have commented before but I think my comment got lost by so many comments you receive.
I watched your review and this Definitely reminds me of Little Noah: Scion of Paradise. The basis is the exact same where you travel into a dungeon and gather resources. I think they added the character system and crafting to change it enough from that game but if you haven’t heard of it, this is like smooshing rf dungeons with little Noah and instead of just unlocking systems they added crafting. The plus for sure is definitely the new character system. Playing different classes, especially that you can change mid-level, sounds amazing. The game looks interesting enough to try, especially with the trials and challenges (which are also in Little Noah 😂.)
The one with the goggles on his head looks like Rod, from a new beginning, who ran the pet booth. The demo was OK for me but I'll wait for a good sale.
I'll have to check out the demo...and even then, I'd probably wait until a sale to get the full game if I do like it (because if you can beat the main story in 25 hours, and it has repetitive gameplay, to me that's not worth the asking price).
I was really curious about this game. Sadly its not for me, but the art is so cute! If they had a town and interaction between characters maybe i would of liked it more. Thank you for the honest review!
Thanks for this, sounds interesting, and I'll probably probably like it, but when the time comes for me to play it I'll follow your advice about checking out the demo before purchasing it, just to be sure.
so it's a dungeon crawler, the dungeons looks super cool but if that's all there is then i'm not sure its for me, if the map was bigger and had life sim elements i'd definitely be picking it up, but alas
I'm just 1 minutes in, but the font choice for enemy names and town names on the HUD is so bad that I had to comment it. EDIT: after watching the full video, the battle actually looks well done. I hope the battle in Rune Factory 6 will at least be as polished as this.
It look Q, but the game play is like normal RPG game mode... u need to keep playing in the same level floor to earn money before u can go further. It good to kill time.
I was excited for the release of this game but the gameplay looks shallow and repetitive. Grind materials in the abyss, talk to NPCs to process materials, repeat.
i never knew about this game, man theres too many, like i work fulltime and i dont have kids and i barely manage to eat and play a bit of some games. i need ppl tips and tricks xDDD
Ah dang, I had added this to my wishlist but after seeing the price (40) and hearing the game is about 20 - 25 hours and then you also can pay for DLC, I don't think this will be the game for me. Doesn't look like enough to justify the price. Seems cute, but the content seems rather surface for my personal taste. Thank you for the review.
I played the demo last month and its safe to say it isnt for me.Its a little too easy for my tastes I prefer dungeon crawlers with a higher amount of challenge.
I hate how we can only craft and stuff in town, I mostly clear the whole dungeon floor before going back to town, so it feel kinda weird. Also the game is too easy, seems marketed for kids or girls 😅😅

I loved the demo and will likely buy the full game. Thanks for your review!
This game has me sold. I just bought it off Amazon as an early birthday present to myself since my birthday is next week
Thanks for the in-depth look at this!
I'll have to see if there's a demo. As is, it doesn't look like my kind of game without giving it a try. Thank you for reviewing it!

Wow I would’ve thought an Ooblets video would have been out before Silent Hope. This is a great video! ✨
I already have a review for Ooblets from when it first released, but I am planning to stream it sometime next week!

Thanks i haven't tried the demo yet
It is! Really fun :)!!
I really want to support Marvellous so we can get more games from them, but idk about this one
Oh the battle system is like Little Noah for Switch!
Kinda looks like Diablo meets Rine factory! I’ll try the demo but I think I’ll really like it 😊 thank you for the review ❤
Thanks!
Imagine SoS with this combat and art in an open world.
You mean what rune factory 5 should have been?
so it's a dungeon crawler, the dungeons looks super cool but if that's all there is then i'm not sure its for me, if the map was bigger and had life sim elements i'd definitely be picking it up, but alas

My deluxe edition arrived yesterday lol
This game could really use a tips video from you, there's only one on RUclips still and it's not on much depth

I find this game lowkey addicting lol

Personally I really enjoy this game. It’s nice to have things you can turn your brain off to.
i never knew about this game, man theres too many, like i work fulltime and i dont have kids and i barely manage to eat and play a bit of some games. i need ppl tips and tricks xDDD
I love this game
rather spend the money on Lords of the Fallen

ad block the best
I played the demo for this game it was ok. But for me it could have been so much better. It reminded me of a mobile game.
Go make mmorpg !!!
its......not very....long its 15hours not enough....let me pass.....
thanks for the review, i won‘t buy this game^^
I hate how we can only craft and stuff in town,

Sexist anyone?!
