  • In this tutorial, we understand what a mapping actually is, the different types of mappings you need to know, and different ways we can represent a mapping.

    This actually makes it make sense - it seems more simple than the way my teacher was making it seem...thanks

    Thank you Michael for taking exam solutions further, you are different to. Stuart but you have your own style which makes maths easier also ...I liked how you explained hypothesis testing.

    Undoubtedly, this is the best explanation of mapping l have seen. The diagrams or graphs made it even simpler to understand. For example, l now know what exactly is a many to many mapping. Well done!

    Great explanation. What is practical application of mapping?

    I did a question recently on the edexcel pure yr2 book and it gave me a circle and i said many to many mapping but it was wrong and said one to many. Because technically it a combination of both would one to many still be correct?

    Is mapping and function are same or different

      different way of looking at the same thing. Think of mapping as a "flow chart" for functions.

    At 6:15 how is the square root of 4 both +2 and -2 ?? Isn't the graph drawn for y = (+/-)sqrt(x) ??

    • @ExamSolutions_Maths
      @ExamSolutions_Maths  4 года назад +1

      The square root of 4 is + 2 or - 2 because if you square both numbers, you'll get 4 so writing y = (+/-) sqrt x is not required.

      you are right , graph drawn is wrong

      @@ExamSolutions_Maths well square root of 4 is 2 or -2 i agree, now this is just a thought but when u write the symbol of square root and you are working with real numbers , dont we have to take non negative answers.
      and one more thing the quadratic formula that we have learnt for finding roots of a quadratic, why it has + and - symbols why not only + if what you are saying is correct. one more thing then y=+ sqrt x or ysquare = x have same graph according to you, and in most of straight line questions while finding length lets say we get sqrt 5, so you mean we will have two lengths one + and other - . dont we have to use modulus then if its length but we dont use modulus because there is no need as sqrt 5 mean non negative, doesnt make right sense of the explanation and graph , just a thought
