- War within delves have been on a rollercoaster ride with multiple hotfixes that would either break the runs through them or completely have them being a breeze. Suffice to say, while this is not a war within delves review, it’s certainly an analysis on what has happened, what was our experience and remaining an open question of a system, what are they supposed to be in the end?

Yo, I'm soloing delves as a mage t8 and I love it. It needs to stay "hard". Remember, it may take some 45 mins but for solo it's all they'll want to be doing
I'm a M+ gamer. I try to get 3K on 2-3 toons per season but now, as a new dad, gaming times have changed... surprisingly, Delves have been a great time sink, where I don't have to worry about leaving the group because the baby wakes up and I can still play the WoW. I really couldn't do this at the end of DF (when the baby was born). I basically stopped playing in S4.
With Delves I can stop, get up, change a diaper and go continue the Delve. I do keys with the fellow dads once the baby is asleep at night
Also, some of my alts are too bootycheeks geared rn to get into even low keys. Doing Bountiful Delves gives those toons is a great way to gear without being in lobby queue simulator, given you have Coffer Keys ofc. Also helps with learning rotation and the entire toolkit vs training dummy. Been having fun playing the opposite-meta-hero-talents of specs.
I agree that they need to tune it according to specs. Blizzard really needs to take a look a Boomy and Shadowpriests kick timers. Blanket silence is no longer a good excuse for 45-60s kicks AND it's about time Healing Priests get an interrupt.

I don't know that you were the target audience, ever, for this content. It is a great gear path for those of us who would otherwise be capped at open world content. So far it is teaching me how to play my alts better too. I have always been one to have one of every class but only ever got good at one or two specs. This has been an amazing way for me to improve because if I don't, I die, lol.
Even if you learn how to play, some classes are way harder (or even impossible) to complete a Tier 8 Delve, even with the recommended ilvl gear. This was supposed to be solo content that would last 10-15 minutes and help you gear your character. All those hotfixes they keep releasing prove that they released it without even testing it and now they have no idea what to do with it. If you truly want to learn your class, try Mage Tower. Hard as f...ck but fully designed for each class.
@@evanskan6326 I appreciate that but the main goal for me is still a path to progression with learning alts being a bonus. Right now, delves are the only way, that I can see, to do both solo.
Isn't it funny how all the people who constantly complained that all content should be relevant for them, are now the same people saying "this content isn't for you"
True. Delves, as a concept, is a great idea for solo content. That idea has yet to reach its full potential. First they need to decide what to do with solo content and I believe we will see better implementations in the following expansions.
My wife wanted to give WoW a try, and delves have been an amazing way of allowing me to introduce her to higher level play without having to inconvenience 3 other players.
I just tank with my Paladin or blow everything up with an Ele Shaman and she gets to work on learning warrior without the fear of dying while also getting good gear. Tbh it's the most fun I've had in WoW in the 18 years I've been playing.
Same here. Me and my sister just cleared our first 8 as a duo. The content is challenging enough and gives us gear that is very nice for us. We are going to try and push to 12 for our own prestige.
As a new player tier 8 delves are way too hard me. The great thing is that I don't have to do tier 8 delves! I can do tier 7, get better, and still get better gear. This is my favourite content to do.
I’m a new player! I play beast master hunter Ilvl 603 brann lvl 26 and I did a 9 solo yesterday! 😢then a warlock needed help with his 8 and we got a full group with a tank but no healer! My pets carried so hard the tank swapped to dps and let my rhino tank the whole delves ! It was the sunken ring delve
THIS, the current fixation with doing tier 8 is from raider and mythic+ players that only do it for the rewards, the content scales!
Yep! Delves are meant for progression, do the tier you can do, get better gear, learn how to play your class and the Delve mechanics, and move up when ready!
Brann needs Tank role....
He actually kind of had that for a bit, then he lost all of his aggro mojo. The God Blizzard smiled down upon him, and so he was bathed in the glory of the nerf.
I wonder if they will add a tank to future companions..

Do you like one shot mechanics? Do you want more of them? I think if they add a tank spec they’ll add more ways for you to get one shot if you don’t move out of things. Bran taking aggro for you means they have to make them harder another way because you are no longer getting white hits.
This is the reason why I think they did not give him a tank spec, he’ll either be a god or a wet noodle.
Solo player most of the time. Love delves. Worried it might get boring in about a month.
Soloing as a BM hunter has been so fun! The Blood of the rhino perk plus brann healing your pets = really stupid OP

Delves are great I'm fucking loving them atm.
I find m+ is toxic as fuck and i hate the constant gogogo mentality this is coming from someone who has gotten ksm several times (whenever there is a cool mount)
My experience with the delves;
Feral Druid: very hard.
Balance druid: harder.
Resto druid: pure pain.
Guardian druid: ez.
BM hunter: i cook and clean the house while pet cleans the delve.
Seriously. If someone is tanking, everything is ez in the delves. Its like they are made for tanks and no one else.

Affliction warlock very easy
Started doing t8s as early 570s started after tuning not when they were overly easy.
What gear and level was your hunter? I'm 580 with clefthoof and struggle with a 7 some are definitely easier but some are pure poison with my pet dieing even with mend pet usage on cool down. I've even seen some packs breaking black arrow and misdirect multi-shot failing it's been a complete shit show of bugs.

Delves just aren't designed for us healers. I feel like they could patch them somehow or add a tank follower for healers.
@@sqiu567 I did all Delves as a healer day 1, it's safer than most classes, takes just a bit more time. Nothing hard.

I like delves as I'm a solo player, I'm too old to deal with what the general community has become in this game. I think they should intrusive cool and interesting encounters that don't involve just damage sponges, maybe doing final fights that have cool mechanics to follow.
I love delves, best way to gear for me because I dont heroic raid anymore. mythic + full of people that dont invite if u dont have raiderio score, im 607 IL atm doing around 800k dps single target as ele shaman
I just had a big discussion on a live feed today with SoulsoBreezy about delves. Basically, I think they are a good step in the right direction, but they definitely need more variety as well as potentially making them procedurally generated. That way it’s a little different every time you go in and it’s exciting to kind of not know what’s around the corner. Also, if you are going to use them exclusively for leveling up, they need to have a lot more experience. They could even have that experience tied to a sort of timer where if you try to go too fast, it actually reduces the amount of experience you get. That would prevent people from gaming the system. Maybe they still would anyway, but people don’t like to wait so I feel like if they make it a little longer and reward you accordingly it would be nice. Also, they need more cosmetic rewards.
Hey, they actually are great XP if you get the quest that is repeatable once a day.
i think it's a good idea to have solo content in the game. but it's a problem if in a mmorpg the most efficient way to gear up and fill the vault is through solo content
Correction:
Solo content that takes 10 minutes to complete and a 6 year old can do.
Why do M+ if it has no gear rewards until +9?
@@txdmsk exactly. that's the problem, you have to do a +7 to match the vault rewards that you get from 10 mins of delves

As a 560 Mage i was doing T8 Delves solo fairly easily and quickly, im like 580 now and its getting easier
Specced Frost and using Brann as a Healer i just slow everything and walk backwards. The 1 million damage casters run into range, start casting and then stop because i walk out of range :P
Bosses do become a def cooldown rotation and using brans pots efficiently
I love delves. If you have a week no time for raid or m+ you can fill youre vault with delves and get good gear to 😊
Would be great to unlock different followers so you can have a Tank follower or a healer etc with unique abilities. As well as getting gear
I agree the High Level delves do take a long time as certain classes with no cool reward cosmetics, the awakeings arent really all that cool it is nice you get gear from it but i agree it is missing cool cosmetic rewards. Overall , I never feel like doing delves.
Delves have ranged from frustrating to having some of the biggest laughs depending on the class/spec and whether I go solo or a group. For frustration, it's solo but groups have been fun! Also, can we give a shout out to Brann for all the ridiculousness that he does? It's never dull!

As a mostly solo player I like Delves quite a bit, at least as things stand now. The first few weeks were pretty rough with balancing, and even now certain classes/specs have easier or harder time, but I think the system as a whole is a great addition to the game. I will say I hope they keep adding new content for them and don't abandon it like some of the past expansion features.
Idk where this conversation is still coming from. Delves are in a fine place now. It's definitely soloable on every class. I am a casual player and don't play m+ or raid. I love delves they actually give me something to do in the game.
They should have made it solo only tbh. Ofc it will be more efficient with more people if you can do it with more. Tbh I didn't watch the whole vid bc I couldn't get through it. I made it half way through. Criticism of a feature is fine. But just rehashing old points and thinking most people who care about actually doing delves are gonna meta game the fun out of it is silly. That is what the raiders and m+ players can do. Since most people play solo now bc they can't stand the environment of those systems. They should leave it were 1-8 can be done by everyone and the higher tiers for the players that have the skill. I have seen ?? Zekvir solo on every class and done t11 on most classes myself since delves is all I do. I am casual player as well. Was this vid even necessary? Probably just as necessary as the 3 day m+ meta tier list. I enjoy yall content but not every vid idea needs to be made
I keep hearing mage as an example of a class who struggles. I’ve been clearing them since launch on my mage with no problems at all.
Dude as frost mage I soloed my way up to 11 and I am close to killing Zekvir on ??. It is a good challenge I love it. Kinda like horrific visions but improved. What we need is more content like this and I hope they don’t streamline it to be the new WQs
Hunter is one thing, but other classes it is hard to solo an 8, mage is a good example. So have to group up but I like to solo things. Thank you for the info.
It's really not though, challenge yeah, extremely hard not even close. Higher tiers are supposed to be a challenge..
No. Frost mages solo it super easy. My mage was like 550 when I soloed +8s with her. It just takes some time as you kite some mobs.
People push high level mythic+ keys without a gear incentive. Delves should scale infinitely, same as M+. They should also be limited to 2 or 3 players max so as not to compete with m+.
How are you getting details to look like that? Like it’s a part of the UI
Honestly, I have been doing delves solo as Spellslinger Arcane. Great mobility and decent procs (with enough haste and mastery, of course)
When I tried it as frost, it just didn't feel like it was doing enough damage. And it's easier to time and manage cooldowns as an Arcane mage for certain pulls.

I love delves the 8s are challenging and reword me well. I'm trying to push to 12 for my own goals.
Have done Tier 8 Earthcrawl Mines as a Resto Druid.
30 mins of PURE PAIN. Brann Level 22.
I love them for my alts. They aren't getting invites to anything if it wasn't for delve gear.
To me delves feel so bad because of how good the end of torghast was in comparison
Mage Tower was "static difficulty" you could outgear if not this, the next raid tier.
Delves are seasonal - means, with new season, better gear etc, Delves will scale up
Think Delves will get better with time, not because player adjust/gear up, but Devs will find more fitting way to challange player other than "use interrupts" (that not everyone have access to), mitigate auto-attacks (while there are cloth players in game).
Delves are feeling to much as dungeons, with challanges design borrowed from group content.
For start most spells that are cast should be projectiles which if you don't interrupt you have to dodge, not instantly chunked for 60% HP.
It's driving me nuts that people insist on running them like dungeons with 1/1/3
People were asking for 600-605 ilvl in 5man delves, meanwhile I breezed through it on all classes in starter greens. People are profoundly stupid.

wtf I usually agree but not today. From my experience this week delves felt good and hard enough to use brain power and whole class kit which makes sense and makes it exciting. I soloed T8 as frost mage at 548 ilv. Took me approx. 40 minutes and was very very hard but it felt like nothing before.. very rewarding feeling. Now with better gear I prefer solo insted of group since it takes around 10 minutes.. if you are bad or making mistakes it takes longer which in my opinion makes sense... after all you get 603 or with map even higher. It should be hard. Mplus isnt easy aswell.
Badly tuned for many specs, but people got to actually bring some ilvl for 8+ *Hinthint
They do need to be easier for people outside of tank specs. I got ? zekvir down and done an 11 delve as brewmaster but i get hit really hard in 8s as a windwalker.

Delves are great. They are a great way to gear up with solo content.
Delves should be like ff14 deep dungeon for leveling with more variety of powers and heirloom specific gears or they need to allow us to bring our warband into the dungeon like follower dungeons so we can have tanks and heals and using up a key will allow us to gear all our alts we bring at once
I've literally not kept up with, or knew that the delves has had nerfs/buffs/whatever. I've done them solo since they released the rest of the tiers. While I know, as a guardian druid I shouldn't be cocky, but I'm soloing tier 11 at 605 ilvl. Bran as a healer (completely useless sometimes). I haven't joined a party for delves, yet.... since they're supposed to be solo activities?
And quite boring (easy too) as a bear... I should go boomkin and suffer some.
I've been breezing through t8 on mage and dh solo no issues. The internet will cry about anything.

45 minute delves are a waste of time. You have to do 8 - 45 minutes delves to have max item level for all three weekly vault spots. That's 6 hours per character per week. As a solo player I don't have that much time to spend on multiple characters. I have enough time to do weekly quests on my main character, a few dungeon runs and maybe a couple of delves just to have something is the weekly vault.
i love to go SOLO for delves.. its the only content i can do.. im playing very casual..
I would love to see mythic level delves.
It's amazing to see people praise delves, when they're just Torghast / Island Expedition rehash content
i honestly hate damage sponges, the biggest problem with delves is that i expected them to be fun 15 minutes content that i could do when i had some time off and maybe get some mid tier gear, but no... they take as long as some m+ runs and depending on the class you play if you go solo you can get hard stuck unable to complete the run. many people dont like challenging content, timers, and a death count... delves lv8 and below should be aimed to be fun, but they have become the new choreghast
Sorry guys but if you are taking too many casts that you cant interrupt then you got to pull less of those mobs.

I was enjoying delves at the start and wishing it to be a littttttle tinny bit harder but now delves feel like torghast and i never stepped in since the nerf came.
then lower difficulty, get the gear there and build up your character to do higher ones.. Doing 8's straight away just means you are done with the delves in a few weeks (sadly).
How hard is it for Braan to be a Good tank or healer if you go solo???

As a solo Vengeance DH who doesn’t do M+ and only raids LFR, delves are by far my favourite content at the moment. Ive never been this geared in the first month of an xpac before.
After the weird changes, i haven't bothered to come back to delves other than getting to teir 7. From the video and comments, it would seem i need to come back.

I'm just tired of people pretending this content is any better than Torghast; it's not. Torghast took me a minimal amount of time and I was done for the week. You want to talk about a chore, look at Delves. At the very least, Torghast had powers that made each run interesting and gave you fun new powers. Delves have none of that. This content is not accessible for undergeared alts and utterly useless for geared mains. It is legitimately pointless content. Absolutely terrible

Ele 10’s I did at 600 gear I was able to get 616 gear in my vault took about 45 minutes
It should be a solo stuff how it was on beginning, however i've tryed yesterday and it was rly fucking more hard and i don't know if m+ and delves being more hard is a nice stuff to get new players, since most of people don't got the fucking all day to play

the question is, are delves really fun? in my opinion, they are not. they are not challenging in the way they should be. i hate delves the way they are now.
Delves are mandatory chores you need to run 20-30 times per character, and also farm the keys for them.
They also completely spoil itemization: You got 608 ilvl from delves last week. Now you barely managed to go up 1 ilvl, because only +9 gives up loot.

the thing with delves, why do them?
they are either not fun and annoying for no gear or they are piss easy in groups for no gear 🤷🏻♂️. my guess is, like you said, most ppl treat it as a vault slot and don't care about anything other than that. at least thats what i'm doing and i'm considering myself mole people too 😂

i knew from the Open beta test that Delve would be same or worse than Torghast.
Gearing up is the only nice part, but gameplay omg it is so boring that I wish it had some Torghast anima powers back.
Class tuning in delves needs to be handled. Who knows how that’ll happen. Because as a paladin I did T11 at 605 just fine. Took my time and I did it. But on my hunter T8 at 600ilvl I get clapped. Lmao
I had no problem soloing anything as a hunter in 560 ilvl. I tried both survi, MM, and BM. You do not understand your class.

😅 I don’t understand guys ? Are you farming hate or? Im a new player I’ve got 603 ilvl from delves and have been solo the whole time ! Playing BM hunter with bran as a healer! His potions heal my beast and I found a rhino that a passive where he gets 40% more healing from all sources! So brann heals my pet for so much it never dies! 😂 I carried my guild mates threw the 8 sunken yesterday and they tank just swapped to dps and let my pets tank
I don't know where the "farm hate" thing is coming from :) Hopefully you watched the video before commenting. Second, you play a BM Hunter, which has the best of time in delves. Try mage ;) Or better yet, watch the video as we explain and show exactly what we are talking about.

Oh you got me all wrong, you sounded like you haven't really watched the video but just wanted the attention :) As we praise delves for their potential and exemplify specs that have fun in there and specs who don't, thus starting my reply with "don't know where the farm hate thing is coming from" but you not really addressing all my points kind of proved my point.

Some classes don't have a pet to keep aggro lol. Imagine a envoker with a tank pet pmsl. If a tank with gear is being one hit. Then a poor clothie would defo be one hit 😂😂 will say love doing 8s on my warlock demo easy mode
What if they give like 1k gold for the bountiful delves
They were supposed to be for casual, solo player content until the devs went all Torghast with them, until the mythic + crowd spammed them in groups for early gear, then the devs went all Mage Tower and made them too hard for you, now the original idea is lost and what an hour or two gameplay every other night I had planned has crashed and burned at your audiences feat, Flame. So thanks for that.
They are easy enough for me tho. Lvl 10 one is a problem but im working on it and doing it solo.

Delves are way too easy already. I blast a place in 12 minutes and get 616 gear in vault. To get 616 I need to do m7 or higher which is honestly way harder content. I can do plus 8 delve with boom kind on 575 ilvl, takes a bit but works. U can't do that with m7 and up...

I'm sorry but saying "If they design it for solo they have to make it work for each spec" is a ridiculous statement. The literal ONLY ways for Blizz to make it so there isn't a difference in difficulty of solo content is either by removing almost all mechanics, homogenizing all the specs to have the same tools, or handcrafting the content to change for every spec. The first two are horrible and would kill the content and the last one just isn't feasible for a system that is meant to have several instances (it worked for Mage Tower because every spec had ONE fight)
There will always be classes that are more self-sufficient and therefore better in the solo experience, just as there will always be disparity in how good a class/spec is in certain raid fights or dungeons
Part of the issue is that Brann doesn’t have a Tank configuration.

Started playing Blood DK a couple of days ago on a boosted 70 and solo'd a T8 Earthcrawl with 568 ilvl on a fresh 80 in AH, WQ and Renown gear..of course it helped that my Brann is level 46, but it's taught me a lot about how to play the DK..loving the Delves..just hope that the gearing and content stays relevant as the seasons progress.

I thought i would come back for so called solo player content ie delves but alas im bored silly of them , ive unsubbed, it is not long term solo player friendly.
Delves are exactly what they always said they would be. People keep pushing the idea that players should be jumping right into tier 8 for efficiency when that is going to be hard for a lot of players who are still figuring out delves or new players who aren't that skilled with their class yet. The right way for most new or casual players is to practice in lower and easier tiers and progress their gear to make higher tiers easier.
Nonono, u do 1-7 with ilvl 350 and 8 naked. That is the rule.

Delves are garbage. They give high enough loot that only +9s start to give you upgrades. WHAT THE HELL, BLIZZARD?
The gearing from delves is way too good. How are we letting single player content outweigh the group content in an MMO??
delves are an incredibly unfun slog at the moment especially for a lot of classes and provide a lot of very easy guaranteed loot
No one will be in delves after another week or so. My alts may do it for fast quick 600 gear but thatll be it for me lol

I also think having a npc is a bad idea they should look at borowed power for delvs would be easyer to toon diffrent classes then like mage healing when blinking and so on
after the little mage gameplay he showed it makes sense he used 45 min. Delves is a great way of gearing up and at the same time improving your skills beyond the standard rotation you do in raids, in a chill environment were dying/failing does not matter that much. The skills learned from Delves with utilizing your class utility/kiting etc are great for other types of content and your enjoyment of the game. Honestly stop crying
