I just got one too. When I saw Penn low profile saltwater reel, I had to get it. I'm still tweaking it for casting frogs for snakehead. I'll be putting it work on some nice striper soon. I almost got a Fathom, but I end up getting a JDM Shimano instead. I look forward to seeing this in action.
@@AliexFolgueira that’s why penn was smart. Want to release a new product line, asks its sister company for help. Love the new direction penn is going in.
I bought the squall 400. Going to see how it keeps up with the lexa 400 hd I bought for the same price. Hope to take it out next week and test it out on saltwater bass and small amber jack. FYI the Penn squall and fathom baitcaster are based on abu garcia models. However I think Penn did a good job with the redesign. Time will tell.
@@fmbjay0166 the reel sits in my garage more than The Lexa. The Lexa ended up casting better and felt better in my hand. Used the squall mostly for inshore saltwater bass with the biggest being 3-4lb. Hung a couple halibut around 10lbs . Handled them great. Reel is loaded with 15 pound lin and fished mostly 1-2oz plastics. Going to respool with some 40lb braid and fish it harder this year.
How the reel holding on? Does it feel like penn or its just abu revo best x redisign? Wanna buy 300 version for for pike fishing ,wanna cast 1.5-4.5 oz baits (40-130grams) ....Hope you are not biased or fanboy and get honest answer....
Holy Abu Garcia Revo batman! They're literally the same reels! same side plates/frame and everything..... wow. Pull up pictures of the revo x and the squall 200 and look side by side. Everything is the EXACT same besides the handle and front of the frame design........ So tired of all these companies using doyo to make their reels. Besides a few exceptions I'll always get a daiwa or shimano over anything else.
@@AliexFolgueira I might have to now I have a bait caster but I didn’t know they made them for salt water and then made them for freshwater I might have to check my bait caster and see if it still works if it’s for freshwater because I used it in the salt water
I promised the first fish on this one WILL NOT BE A CUDA! PROMISED 😀
Cause u aren't going to show us.
We'll see about that body

how is the jdm doing? is it any different from the us model ?
@@AliexFolgueira supposedly they have better internal parts. I got the Excense DC. I heard it's pretty much the Curado.
Very nice reel ? I saw a video the other day that recommended braid on baitcasters for saltwater to be no lower than 30 lb braided line ??
I have 15 and 20 on mines no big issues ,I don't think I have one with 30
I love that penn knew they didn’t know low profile baitcasters , so they leveraged Abu Garcia to build a great saltwater baitcaster.
I bet, they are own by the same co

I figured it was model after abu, but it doesn't look like a penn reel
Update?

Very cool. I need to learn how to use a bait caster
It is easy just takes practice
Good! I like penn for kayak fishing!
forsho penn is nice
Can you flip the handle?, It is a lefty you are showing. I am a righty reel. Hold with left.
Gotta order the righty one
"No more cudas for a while, hopefully "🤣🤣🤣 keep hoping Cuda slayer.
Lol 😆, ill do my best
Nice reel Aliex, What rod are you going to put it on.
Thanks Carl, I just ordered a Battalion ii baitcaster 7 f m extra fast to pair it with it. What did you think about the bts ?
Go get a monster Cuda. Catching fish is more fun than not catching fish. It is a good job unboxing. Looks a little small fo the salt....
monster snook... the revenge
OoO I want one so bad!! Nice video as well
Thanks 😊, can't wait to try it
Did you test it? I mean, fighting a nice fish?
Ohh yeah plenty
You took it in video? I’m interest in buy one of those but I want to see a testing video before
Does it have a magnesium spool? Not good it salt water!
Aluminum spool, like the majority of Penn revolving spool reels.
That should go on a mojo inshore or something equivalent
Gonna put it on a Battalion ii m
I'm still waiting for mine
What rod are you gonna pair it with?
I still don't know yet. How about you?
@@JoseRodriguez-dc4je I'm thinking of getting a battalion ii for this one, and a googan muscle for the fathom that I also ordered
Don't put 10# braid on it. It will dig into itself and cause all kinds of problems.
Ummm i think you have a good point there
This is so true, I dont use anything under 20lb braid for baitcasters now.
Yeah. I don’t use under 30lb braid on a baitcaster. Anything smaller is asking for trouble.
