- We had a heat wave and some plants enjoyed it some didn't. Now I make plans for next year to grow more plants that do not mind the heat. Do you have a problem with ants? Cinnamon helped my plants. Yes brassicas I still have to sow. I think we have to get used to the Texas heat but we don't have air condition. Heaters and stoves were more important before climate change. Thank you very much for stopping by.

Looking beautiful Heidi despite the heat. We've had a lot of heat and no rain also. I find many of my vegetables are smaller or suffering. I've got to try grapes next year. Lovely harvest ❤
It would be amazing if grapes 🍇 could grow in Newfoundland as well. You never know. The area with the stones around your fireplace could be a possible place to grow them. Here they are smaller than the ones we buy in a shop but they taste much nicer. It's a good idea to try it.

It's amazing how it 🌹 came back. I took all the leaves 🍃 away and it 🥀 was completely "naked".
Nice harvest! I had ants in my garden, especially on my fava beans, but I didn’t know if they would harm the plants so I just didn’t do anything. After a few days of rain, they are all gone. Thank you for sharing the cinnamon trick 😊 I will try it if I come across ant problems next time!
Ants on beans are normally no problem but on these artickokes they blocked the new leaves from growing. I've never seen something like that before so the cinnamon was a big help. Have a nice week ahead 🌝🐈🐕💛

Looking beautiful Heidi yes the heat has been brutal. We had a flash thunderstorm and heavy rain last night but it also brought high winds. Luckily all is ok and the wind has died down. Have a super week Heidi, Ali ⛈️🇨🇦

Yes, brassicas I still wanted to sow as well and asian greens is a good idea. They were all bolting in spring.
