Diving into the Order 66 flashback as grown Cal is what made this run especially goofy. It makes sense the area is loaded into the Dathomir map but I didn't think you could just jump down into it, much less have it immediately start at the end. I'm flabbergasted.

And I thought I beat the game fast because I beat it in 15 hours in two sittings... (13 hours in one, 2 hours in the other.) Jokes aside, This is actually really impressive. I didn't know you can beat the game 15x faster than I did, I expected something over 2 hours at best, so good job!
If I had to guess I’d say that it’s because that’s the point at which no more player input is required to finish the game, thus no more time improvements can be made beyond that point
Several games do this. For example Final Fantasy 7 speedruns end when the damage number shows on Sephiroth at the end. His death & the 15 minute ending cutscene are not included in the final time. First action is selecting new game and the final action is the last swing on the last boss.
Got this game on new years discounts and was pleasantly surprised by how similar to Dark Souls it was. Sure it feels like shtty Tomb Raider alike meets shtty Dark Souls wannabe but it is absolutely superior to what I imagined it would be like. It even has Sekiro's danger mechanic and side step dodge too. Too bad this game's map design suks asss. They tried DS2 style but failed miserably due to ungodly amount of reused assets and obviously designed loops for shortcuts.
"New Years discount" it was the ps+ free game of the month. You're complaining about something you got for free. But we get it you love Dark Souls and anything not Dark Souls is inferior 👍

It would work, however I recommend a PS4 Pro at the very least because otherwise TLJs (the trick to gain height after locking onto an enemy) are almost impossible since the maximum height is depended on your framerate. Given that you would be locked to 30 fps on a non pro PS4 some tricks are almost impossible to perform.
I'm gonna go ahead and say no or at the very least putting yourself at a huge disadvantage. Playing on my regular ps4 it struggles and after an hour or two the loading freezes get really bad at almost every zone.
It's a result us skipping certain cutscenes where you would meet her initially. It breaks her character model a bit, usually Merrin also isn't supposed to have her hood up in the cutscenes on the Mantis but this is yet another side effect of us not going through all events like the game expects you to.

She's also not named in the captions. She is still "Nightsister" not "Nightsister Merrin"
