    Psalm 1
    1 Blessed is the man
    Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
    Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
    2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    And in His law he meditates day and night.
    3 He shall be like a tree
    Planted by the rivers of water,
    That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
    And whatever he does shall prosper.

    Listening this message and examining mine about spiritual meditation, strengthen me. If the puritan doing this and acknowledged the importance of meditating spiritually then I'm right doing that. The living triune GOD is the subject of my meditation and I glorify him alone for teaching me that.

    This man is obviously sincere but unfortunately his presentation is sadly boring and sometimes morbid. Having read, listened to and rejected contemplative prayer/meditation S unbiblical and full of heresy I was wanting something like this. It is soooooo needed in for Christian’s today. However much as I love many puritan preachers they sometimes l seem to lack passion and joy. As a Christian who has been redeemed by the sacrifice of The Lord Jesus Christ I am told to set my hope completely on the Return of our glorious King. Yes I should examine myself, confess my sins but mostly meditate on Christ Jesus, His finished work, God promising to complete the good work in me. My utter dependence on The Lord to receive and enjoy the exceedingly great and precious promises, all yea and amen in Christ Jesus.
    We need the teaching you are seeking to put before us but in spite of your sincereity I do not think I am required to meditate on hell and judgement which brings despair, fear and to some even depression. Please sir, you who obviously love The Lord remember in Hid Presence is fullness of joy.

      When we meditate on hell/judgment it puts in us a hunger for the lost and be more diligent to pray for the lost and be ready to witness to them about our glorious Lord. Meditate so you will benefit others

      From my experience with the Puritans, it often is very hard slugging to get to work under their tutorship. It is not appealing to the flesh at all. I struggle with my KOBO and the Puritans. I kinda burned out on them a bit. It is hard work. But then, in a few weeks after each book, everything that I learned began starts coming up everywhere: in my Scripture, in prayer, during preaching, discipling people one on one. It is hard work, its not always very fun in the moment. But later it produces a harvest which is powerful and beautiful. I encourage you to stick it through with Beeke and the especially original authors. It is not always easy or captivativing to hear, but it is rock solid! Have you read actual Puritans from the 1600s? There are some who are so so passionate in their writing, I'd recommend checking them out!
