- Uncle Max Harrison, Yuin Elder and Dean Kelly, Yuin man, talk about the meaning and significance of a Smoking Ceremony. The traditional cleansing ritual involves burning native plants and leaves to produce smoke to ward off bad spirits, acknowledge ancestors and pay respect to the land and sea of country.
Interesting video. I think its so inportant for us to know about Autralia's Indigenous. Being the oldest still living civilization in the world, we should be hearing and learning this in school before learning the history of anywhere else. We should be proud of our Indigenous people. Thankyou for showing us this clip
Thank you for the video 🙏
Thank you for this informative video :)
Awesome attitude the Elder has and it's probably the most peaceful way I've heard Australia Day being spoken by an Indigenous Elder.
Thank you
Here to learn ❤️
where can i find this music in the end of the video?
The smoking ceremony i had at my school
I watch that at school because it heal people
Normal people would be upwind. Maybe Ernie Dingo invented an ingenious way to keep the flies out of their eyes and mouth.
Yeah! Just ask Ernie!
What did they do before fire.
So sad to see such beautiful , innocent, well meaning people that have been so badly treated by the white man .
Australia 4 da BOYS!!!!
Very interesting ceremony, I'd love to take part in one sometime, seems very peaceful. Anyone in South Brizzy know who would be good to contact? Which mobs might let an outsider take part in ceremony?
Same as the burnoffs of our land.
ok
you shouldn't smoke its bad for your lungs
It looked like a match was used to light the fire, very traditional.
based entirely on superstition, it should be noted. and what about the matter of air pollution and climate change...
