Chris one of the greats of metal in his golden era. You should take a look to his drumming clinic when he plays “blood of the scribe” , really unreal drumming. Long Life Chris Adler!!!

Actually that's not very good, it's very basic metal stuff without any groove.. no disrespect to any one. The work on the double pedal is good tho and very clean.. but nothing fancy, quite easy work

Forget open handed playing he's known for using splashes like crashes.
You can listen a band and if you hear a track with a splash as a crash you can just immediately know that Chris Adler was their studio drummer.

I been waiting for you to listen to Chris Adler. This is one of his most "laid back" songs. There are some LoG songs that the perfection of every beat is orchestral. Also he does a lot of complex patterns on the kicks, I hope you can hear them well, you don't want to miss those rudiments he sometimes incorporates into his kick patterns. The Modern drummer festival and his clinic videos are so insightful and mesmerizing.
And you are right that he looks comfortable, sometimes bored. Its like he is watching TV while working out, he is in the zone.
Looking forward to more Chris Adler, you will not be disappointed.

I'm not a LOG fan, but I'm a rock/metal guy all the way. I've been to countless concerts and festivals, and Chris Adler's live sound is probably the best out of any metal drummer I've ever seen. The tiny snare cuts through beautifully, and it sounds to me like the tunes up his kit a bit on the high side. His entire kit sounds compact but punchy as hell. I'm not a drummer though. Only guys I've heard live that sounded as good are Gene Hoglan and Brann Dailor. Great video and the Sean Reinert comparison is spot on!

One of my favourite drummers of all time. Sucks he's no longer L.O.G.'s drummer but Art Cruz is doing a damn fine job in his stead. His drumming in his current band "FirstBorne" is very good too!

How about some Shannon Larkin? He’s one of Chrises biggest influences.

@@AndrewRooneyDrums Your welcome there’s one where he did a clinic somewhere and it’s ridiculous! Or watch the famous drum battle of Godsmack with Shannon and Sully that’s pretty epic as well.

Great to see you check Chris out, but as others have said this is a pretty shocking recording of him.

Another Lamb of God song that shows more chops is Set to Fail. You still get the consistency and accuracy but you can see a higher level of flair/machine-level pocket at higher tempo. Walk With Me In Hell is a good start to see what he's capable of but Set to Fail is a more realized potential imo

Love me some Chris Adler. Has such a unique style. Most of the intricacy in his playing is on the feet. The double bass drags and hertas and stuff are basically what he pioneered. It's orchestrated in a way that makes the pocket playing on his hands just hit so much harder.

I've always remarked just how clean and robotic his timing is! A machine! Classic rock/metal style.
There's more complex and faster Lamb of God songs to react to, this one is relatively boring as far as the drumming goes.
