i don’t think many people realise how much the climate can affect the behaviour of foundation. for this reason i always look forward to your reviews because i don’t know of any other reviewer who mentions the climate systematically in their videos. thank you for this ! 💗
Loved this round up Stephanie! It is so interesting how foundations work SO differently on different people at different ages, and skin types and climates! My 62 year old super dry skin loves the CT New Foundation. As a HUGE Lisa Eldridge fan I ordered her new foundation immediately...so far I have found it pretty drying and fussy to work with. Interestingly enough, I like it best a few hours after application when it picks up a tad bit of glow. I'm reserving judgement until summer when the heat and humidity kicks in and my skin is less dry...I am guessing the LE will work much better in the summer and the CT will be more of a winter foundation for me. I just picked up the new NARS and have high hopes for it...we shall see! Anyway, I noticed you blew past 200K! Congrats and well deserved! You ALWAYS bring us great content. Happy Sunday!
Great video! I have been looking at the Tarte foundation and I am glad to finally see a review of it. I appreciate how thorough you are with your reviews and respect your opinion.
I LOVE how you wear your makeup! You never look over done! Your makeup always looks beautiful! Never too much blush! There’s a beautiful RUclipsr that reviews gorgeous makeup but she always wears to-too much blush & on the edge of not already “clownish” & that really ruins her amazing looks! Love your makeup looks & informative tutorials & videos!! Thank you so much!!!♥️🤗🙏🏻
The Tarte looked absolutely STUNNING on you! I was thinking all of them looked really good until I saw the Tarte and you most definitely SOLD ME!! Really beautiful!!🥰❤️
I’m excited about the Tarte Cloud foundation! I’ve seen a few other reviews and was waiting for yours! Yay! We live in the same climate and have the same skin LOL! I’m going to have to try it!
I've been using Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation for years with surprising success. It works really well on my middle-aged skin. Light to medium coverage that gives me a great soft focus look.
Another awesome video Steph! My absolute favorite per your recommendations is the Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Fluid Powder foundation with a close second favorite is the Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection.
Thank you for your reviews on these foundations! I'm in my late 40's so your opinion helps me to know what works for other women who are also in their 40's.
I enjoy so much your reviews! Great content always. I would love to see a video showing “ How to apply foundation for beginners” Talking about layering skincare, spf, primers. I have such a hard time doing it, I am never happy with my results. It will be awesome to see how you do it and take your advices. Thanks beautiful Lady !
The secret is to let your spf stay on your skin for at least 15 minutes to soak in before putting on your primer then foundation. I’m 68 and it works for me and my dry skin.
My foundation was double wear light by Estée Lauder and since they discontinued it I’m lost. Foundations for me is one of the toughest products to find a match. Combo skin and age 56 doesn’t help. Thanks for all you do with foundation reviews. 👍🏼❤️
Im a Dw light fan as well. If you haven’t found one yet you might want to try Anastasia. It says it’s luminous but it’s very nice it’s not shiny or anything. I find that any kind of primer works nice under it. If you like primers like Smashbox photo finish I like that with pretty much anything and I also like urban decay primer it’s really nice it’s a new one I just came out. That one would be a good one for if your combo oily.
Before you try high end it might be worth trying wet n wild tinted hydrator. It's only around 6 dollars so worth a go if you like dewy. I mix it with elf camo concealer for more coverage
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I found your channel from an old colab you did with Risa. I adore Risa. However, it seems your skin type and "no makeup" looks are more like myself. 🙂 I have been going through so many foundations trying to find my holy grail. I think I'll give that Tarte a try next. Appreciate your content so much!
I agree. That Tarte Cloud foundation is still one of my favs. And with oily dehydrated acne prone skin (a lot of concerns who usually hates SPF in foundations) I truly believe it's a slept on foundation. With a sponge it's beautiful and moussy in texture, like a "cloud" ❤
Thank you for the review! ❤ You’re actually the only honest review I found about the Bobbi Brown one. It was the same for me, I Tried using it different ways but nothing worked for me.. It always ended up looking cakey for some reason, and it’s such a same because the bottle is so cute!.. anyway thank you!! 😊
Thanks for the reviews enjoyed them I’ve just ordered the new one from Chanel as it seems to have very good reviews so looking forward to trying it 🌸🌺🌷🌹
I’ve been going through (your) channel withdrawals and haven’t had the downtime I usually do to watch your videos.😭 I like to take my time and even take notes when I watch, I’m such a makeup nerd. And, just recently, I’ve been looking around for a new foundation and the two I am most interested in you addressed, the Charlotte Tilbury and Lisa Eldridge foundations. Yay! You never disappoint! 👏🏼My skin is so confused these days, I’ve only been wearing powder mineral foundations when absolutely necessary.☹️ I was not going to try the shapetape foundation because I’m not a fan of the concealer, but after watching this, I’m now considering it! Thanks for another great video! 🥰
The Lisa Eldridge foundation is my holy grail foundation. It’s absolutely beautiful. The undertones are absolute perfection. As a combo to oily skin gal, I can make it last most of the day by using a light dusting of powder.
I absolutely love the Lisa Eldridge and the new Chanel No1 foundation. These two worked beautifully on my 62 year old skin. I do live in a humid climate most of the year so I will be excited to see how these hold up in August when we're at 95 degrees with 90% humidty. xoxo
Hi Stephanie, I’m new on your channel and I love it. I’m turning 50 (proudly) in 4 weeks so I love the advice you give being in the same age range and all😉. I started out with this foundation video. You spoke about the Bobbi Brown Foundation and it got me thinking immediately of the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation. I can’t tell how many ways I tried to make it work and how many times I washed my face and started over again. It just doesn’t work for me !! It frustrates the heck out of me. I even contacted their customer services (that was a let down) so the only thing to do was throwing it away. I’m sorry but it was that bad. Back to your channel 🤗🤗 I’m literally binge watching now. I’m not new at makeup 💄 but love all the extra information I can get and you are very nice to follow and look at. So I’m looking forward to seeing more videos. Have a fantastic Thursday. Love from The Netherlands Ingrid 💄💄💄💄
A foundation that really surprised me was Sephora’s brand foundation, the clean beauty one. Very friendly to my mature-ish textured skin, with a good glow (not too much tho).
I am trying some I have never thought to try too bc The ones I was using discontinued and every single other one I hate. They are all horrible and they cost so much!
Thank you for such a great video! I am so thankful you mentioned the Rose Complex in the new CT foundation! I tried this foundation the other day from a sample I got at Sephora and within an hour of wearing it I could not stop sneezing! It never dawned on me to check the ingredient list! I am allergic to anything rose. I'm bummed because the shade 4N was literally a perfect match.
Thank you so much, sweet Stephanie! I don't really understand the hype on dewy/radiant foundations. As a 54 years old oily girl, it has been a real struggle to keep foundations on my skin. Even when following all the tips and tricks, the EL double wear makes me shiny after 2 hours. I have friends with drier skin, and, after a few hours, they also get shiny and hate it, so what's the point of these glowy foundations? Maybe for a photo-shoot, it would look beautiful, but when oils break through, it is pure hell🤣 I only use powder foundations, so I would appreciate you reviewing the newest ones! Love all the way from Belgium, Europe!
My skin is as dry as the Sahara and the CT is amazing for me, just in case anyone is interested. This is just natural for me, no dry flakes and no shine just a bit radiant.
Hi Stephanie! I loved this foundation round-up! The Lisa Eldridge has been such a polarizing foundation for me; here in Toronto, it’s the perfect skin-like foundation, but over the holidays, I was in the states visiting my family, and the foundation just always looked off on my skin; but, when I came back home and tried it, it was perfect again. I’ve been curious to try the new NARS and Charlotte Tilbury, but I feel like I can skip them now, thanks to your helpful review. Thanks for the great video, and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Super helpful!! I bought the Nars last week and was really excited about … but found that I just don’t like it. It brings out texture and extenuates my pores. I’ll try the Tarte and see if that works better me! Thank you!💖
I love the Lisa Eldridge foundation! My skin looks amazing with it, but still like skin, not like spackle. My year-round shades usually match your summer shade, (NC30, Estee Lauder DW in Rattan 2W2) so I take #16 in the Lisa Eldridge. The undertone is so perfect that I cannot detect where I blended the product out and where my skin is bare. My skin is normal to dry, and my climate is not as humid as yours, so it lasts for me a good 10 hours. I'm keeping it for special occasions because the price is a little steep for me, but it's undeniably high-quality and it makes me look and feel fabulous.
Glad to see this. Canada Sephora suddenly took Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder off the site! I’m hunting for a replacement in case CT is about to discontinue it in future. I’m not sure I would like that new one and most people are having the same trouble you had. I had been thinking about that NARS one as a replacement. I’m normal to dry in a desert region so it’s probably a fit. Thank you!
I totally agree that climate I'm in North Carolina from winter to summer two totally different foundations and primers mascara even seems to melt off thanks this was a good one
Love the Eldridge foundation and I do get 8 hours of wear BUT I agree it can be finicky until you find the combo that works for you. Still it’s beautiful on. Have you ever tried the lys serum foundation? I use that as an everyday hydrating foundation that works well with my skincare and sunscreen. It’s very affordable.
I love the BB and CT . But, I’m your age with dry skin living where it’s winter and cold. So I like those ultra dewy foundations. I like to wear them both just really thin. I’ll have to check out the NARS if it ever comes back in stock ! Thanks for the great reviews!
I loooove BB serum foundation. I’m in a dry climate and have combination skin and it goes well over Vitamin enriched face base, or just regular lotion. I thought it would fall off over Tatcha silk canvas but it different. I even use it over Glossier Future Dew.
On a completely unrelated note, you have fixed my long wear lipstick issues. I’m a teacher who doesn’t have time to touch up lipstick all day, so I purchased a Le Rouge Duo by Chanel after watching a video you made and I loved it so much that I bought 4 more in short order. I LOVE it. It wears long, stays hydrated, and wears off gracefully. It isn’t drying. Perfect. Thank you!!! I had tried EVERYTHING ELSE with zero success. I adore the Chanel and will not likely buy another brand for a very very long time. I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about it.
Would love for you to try LYS serum foundation and I just wanted to say I never knew you lived in New Orleans! That was my old stomping ground before marrying and moving to below Baton Rouge. We have just a slightly dryer climate here and my skin has gotten a lot dryer as I age, which is why I purchased the LYS. It goes on beautifully and wears well without drawing too much attention to my skin texture. Just a thought, love your videos and you do them so well.
Do you know of any foundation similar to the Dior Nude Air foundation which was very “liquid like” but with great coverage. I love your videos and you are ALWAYS “spot on”.
Thankyou for that Stephanie 🙂- we have similar skin I think and I too love the Dior Backstage - the tarte cloud foundation looks interesting - not sure how it compares? I would like to see you review Tarte’s hydro flex (not sure how I missed this one) - also the maracuja tinted moisturiser - as this one has a somewhat radiant finish, think it might accentuate texture. Would also like to see what you make of the Clé de Peau radiant matte foundation - would like to get it right for such an investment in a foundation.
Thank you for your review! What foundation do you recommend that does well whenever your skin is peeling/flaking? I’m on tretinoin too! What I found was that the chantecaille cushion does well no matter how bad my skin gets but I am looking for an alternative
After all the bad reviews on the CT foundation I was pleasantly surprised when I received mine and used it. I did put a matifying primer underneath it. I loved it and the way it looked on my skin. I had already ordered it when everyone started hating it, so I went ahead and tried it. I also got the NARS and liked it as well. I have super dry skin with pores around my nose and cheeks so I expected to hate the CT foundation. The Lisa Eldridge looked awful on me. I had to work way to hard to make it work and for $61, I just want it to work without having to work hard to make it work.
A layer sitting on top of the skin . That was a flashback to foundations a million years ago. I didn’t even wear foundation because of that until I was in my mature years. Guess Bobby Brown went retro. I think that was why power foundations boomed in the 70’s. The Bobby Brown review made me shutter. I only use what sinks into the skin & adds some nurturing ingredients. Lisa Eldridge is one for sure. Thank you.
I used to live in New Orleans but moved to the Northshore after Katrina. Nice to hear your opinions given our humidity, I just switched to NARS new light reflecting foundation and love it so far. Of course, it’s not hot and humid yet so we will see how it hold up when the weather changes. I’m super pale (Cool 0.5) so just finding a foundation that isn’t too yellow or too dark is amazing. NARS Oslo is my perfect match. Now if I could just find a concealer that isn’t too yellow. Most “light” concealers make me look like a raccoon because they are so dark on me. Any suggestions?
I finally purchased Lisa’s foundation after trying samples that came with an eyeshadow purchase. It’s now one of my new holy grails along with the Haus Labs. The Dior Backstage is another especially for warmer weather. Curious to know what the new formula will be like!
I had the opposite experience with the Bobbi Brown foundations! I absolutely LOVE the Intensive Skin Serum (it's hydrating, beautiful, and very skin- like), but didn't care for the Skin Long-wear (dry, patchy, and thick powdery). We usually have similar views on foundations so I was surprised.
I’ve been using the BB Intensive Skin Serum foundation too for a while & really like it! My daughter uses it too & really likes it. I find it to be light weight & hydrating for my mature skin!
It depends which skin type you are. One is for more olily skin and the other one for dry skin. And it is important to use a primer on the same base of the foundation (silicon, water, oil).
I had the exact same results with the Charlotte Tilbury foundation, and I wanted to love it because at first it looked really good, but it just looks so shiny and showed significant texture. What I have found works for me is I mix it with a small amount of the NARS soft matte foundation and that looks really nice. I am 63 with what I consider to be fairly normal skin.
Thank you for this video!! At 55, foundation is hard! I also think I'm not washing my face as often as I did before the pandemic, so that probably isn't helping. I love Tarte, so I may try the Tarte foundation.
The Tarte foundation looks amazing on you, my skin is like yours ( but I am a lot older ) at the end of the day I do have an oily T zone, the good thing is that they say that oily skin gets less wrinkles and I am lucky in that aspect, almost no wrinkles, some larger pores due to age but not many lines, the Tarte looks really nice on you and you are one of those rare people that looks very nice with almost no make up, in the Tarte pictures you look like you are 20 something, I would go for the Tarte, lol, great video, thanks to show us all the diferences in foundations and how the skin looks with each one of them, stay well.
I'm also 46yrs old and live in Morgan City,la. 90miles west of NOLA so I know the struggle of finding a good foundation especially bc of our climate in South,la.!So glad I found your channel!!!
Thanks so much for your reviews!! I was wondering if you’ve done a review on the new L’Oréal Tinted serum foundation with hyaluronic acid? I’m really curious about your thoughts on that one!!
100% agree with you about the CT and Nars radiant foundations. Nars was my pick of the 2 but I returned both. Because I have very mature normal skin with a dry patch here or there logically I have always thought a radiant foundation would be flattering. Not so for me! They all, to some degree, emphasize my texture and pores. Nars did it the least but it still just wasn't perfect. You are so right that with every age what works changes. Presently Dior Face and Body and Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte are my favorites. (I wish Cle de Peau wasn't 💸). Who knows what it will be next week! I think I need to try Lisa Eldridge's foundation again. I did not choose the right shade and the samples were out of stock. Thanks, again, for your honest reviews and opinion, Stephanie.
Have you tried the Chanel No.1? I sampled the Lisa Eldridge and it has way too much silicone for me - like a mask. Thanks for the great reviews! I’m going to check out the Bb liquid to powder you like.
I have mostly the same issues as you do and own the Chanel N°1 foundation and love it. Was also considering the Nars one but I live in Alabama with super high humidity so I'm not so sure about it.
I've been hoping for this video from you! Yay! Hope you're doing great! Thank you for being so honest! 💓
i don’t think many people realise how much the climate can affect the behaviour of foundation. for this reason i always look forward to your reviews because i don’t know of any other reviewer who mentions the climate systematically in their videos. thank you for this ! 💗
Thank you Stephanie so helpful as usual, so many foundation launches has my head spinning on which to choose and your videos really help me out 😘

Thank you for explaining the difference between all of them!
Great video! I have been looking at the Tarte foundation and I am glad to finally see a review of it. I appreciate how thorough you are with your reviews and respect your opinion.
Thank you for this thorough foundation video! ❤️ Stephanie, please do an am and pm skincare routine video.
i absolutely love your channel! thank you!

Thank you so much!! Very informative you’ve saved me so much time and money cutting down the issues I face myself… 🙏🏻❤️
I have been waiting for your review! Thank you for putting it together. I have the same experience with the Charlotte Tilbury!
Exceptional information! Thank you so much. Will be trying the Tarte though!

Yes waiting for this🤗
Great video Stephanie
Just an aside, you have really informed subscribers! Excellent feedback on the comments. Always helpful.
Thank you so much Stephanie!
Hey Stephanie 👋👋👋👋❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for the review!!! I hope you will try the Chanel no1 and the Shiseido!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
These reviews are really terrific, you are providing excellent content.
Thank you! I appreciate that! ❤️
Agree!
Thank you Stephanie, great information.I love bobbi brown, but i think it do not hold up on my dry combo skin.Always very good videos.
Great video! Thanks

I like the CG Extreme Outlast with the pinky orange cap. Risa has lots of info about it. I like the EL, too.
Loreal infalible fresh wear & loreal tinted serum 👌 both my favourite and drugstore...im combo/oily, humid climate

I've used both ELDW and the Light and you can get the normal one the same if you apply it lightly with a damp beauty blender !

As always so helpful Stephanie. I’d be interested in trying the Shape Tape, but picking the right colour is so hard for us guys that live in the UK.

The Lisa Eldridge foundation is my holy grail foundation. It’s absolutely beautiful. The undertones are absolute perfection. As a combo to oily skin gal, I can make it last most of the day by using a light dusting of powder.
I can’t wait to try it. My color samples have been out of stock for a long time.
Very helpful!
A great one! TY.
Swatches we’re so helpful!
Such helpful info. Two I’d like to see u review: Gerda Spillman BioFond and Faceatelier. Thx!

Thanks Stephanie as always for the thorough break down of these foundations. The Lisa Eldridge foundation looks interesting.💟
Love the LE foundation. Get the sample for a shade match and you won't be disappointed.
@@debradowling800 Thanks💟
Great video ❤️ Have you tried the foundation from Beauty Pie

Yes please review the new MUFE HD skin foundation! 😁
I hope you cover the New Kosas Foundation in your next round up!!!

Great video. Would love some info on Jones Road the newer brand from Bobbi Brown. Looks like some interesting products.
I am also interested in Jones Road. I admire Bobbi Brown very much.
I tried it. It just didn’t work for me. It separated in the container and then won’t cover evenly. I want to love it.
Lisa Eldridge works beautifully on dry skin with or without primer..my very favorite new foundation
Great video. Thanks.
I totally agree that climate I'm in North Carolina from winter to summer two totally different foundations and primers mascara even seems to melt off thanks this was a good one
Agree with the BB Serum I returned after a few times, terrible. Thanks for the roundup the tarte seems interesting.😜
You MUST try the Valentino foundation!!! It’s a game changer and I have combo to oily skin.
I love the CT, set it with powder using a puff. Great for making any foundation last longer.
I’d love to see you demo the new Makeup Forever HD Foundation that launched at Sephora !!!🤗🤗🤗
I’m so glad you like it as much as I do! 💖
I’ve been eyeing the Tarte foundation and now I think I’ll give it a try! I feel the same about the Nars and CT.
Let me know what you think about it! :)
Please review Chanel no 1 and Shiseido skin radiant lifting foundation.
Would love your thoughts on the new Chanel 1 foundation!
Yessssssss!!! Me, too!
Same here with that Lisa Eldridge foundation, it was awful on my dry skin especially on my chin area.
Love the CT foundation
Love your videos. Can you please test the tarte Babassu Foundcealer
Thanks Maria!
I'm also 46yrs old and live in Morgan City,la. 90miles west of NOLA so I know the struggle of finding a good foundation especially bc of our climate in South,la.!So glad I found your channel!!!
Could you please review the chanel No1 foundation?
Thanks so much for your reviews!! I was wondering if you’ve done a review on the new L’Oréal Tinted serum foundation with hyaluronic acid? I’m really curious about your thoughts on that one!!
I have :) Check my foundation roundup playlist 👍🏼
@@StephanieMarie Ok. I will!! Thanks!! 😉
Jann, I love the radiant fluid matte as well. Chantecaille Future Skin and Lisa Eldridge are my other go to’s these days.
thank for vid pretty lady. be safe
My favorite foundations are in order, Fenty ease drops, Charlotte, Dior backstage
Stephanie. Enjoyed this review. I wanted to make you aware that the Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation link goes to a Lancôme stick foundation at Sephora.
Thanks Steph! I’ve just order the Tarte foundation so… fingers crossed as they have discontinued my holy grail CT Magic foundation… 🤦🏽♀️😔😒
Yup the CT one has a lot of shine . And emphasizes texture . Like most have said it’s true .
