    Love the new style! Requesting the extension was a whole new adventure! A permanent residency maybe as an option for later? 😊

    If I am going to buy a property in the northeast which cost only $US 5000. It will be hard to get residency.

    Nice Video. Just to let your viewers know Permanent Residency is a long, complicated process. Our lawyers have been working on it for 4 months and some say it can take 6 months to a year. All your documents need to be translated and apostled as well as for me a flight back to the USA (I live in Ceara) to get my FBI Background Check fingerprints. I am applying for a Permanent Residency Visa by Spouse. (We have been married for 23 years, but all our USA marriage certificates had to be translated etc.) Their is no "Easy Way" to get Permanent Residency and normally when you go to the Federal Police it is by appointment' only (wearing black slacks). Be Prepared, don't be disappointed thinking this is an easy process.😎
    On the bright side, now that I am living here I have my own house w/pool which could easily be an Air BnB and the lady that does my wife's nails comes to my wife's house.

      Thank you for sharing your journey here. Residencies truly can be a complicated topic. Im glad it is all working out well for you. We are still evaluating our options. We have heard there might be a change for Mercosur residence in the coming year. We have Paraguay residency and it might be made easier for us to get Brazilian residency as well. We will see. We are currently traveling to the most eastern point of Brazil and then South. Where are you located in Brasil?

    So which residency program did you do? Retirement?

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  2 года назад

      Good question 😆 It seems like I won’t be able to ever have enough working years in one country to actually be able to collect a retirement pension. That’s fine with me, i Neve really plan on retiring anyways. But that visa seems to be excluded. But we are thinking hard about the business residency. For now we keep traveling to see all the countries in South America. But then, BRAZIL is our favorite so far.

      @@HaveYourADVENTURE Gruss Gott. We started building our beach house between Ilhéus and Itacaré and should be moved into it by the end of December at the latest. Weist du dass ich ein bischen Deutsch sprecken kann weil ich bin ein schueler gewesen in wunderschoennes Oesterreich (Bad Hofastein, Salzburg region, in Der nahe von Badgastein). That was from 1981 to 1984... back then my German was fluent but I can still manage today. We have a few videos already posted about our new house build. Last year I (US American) stayed 90 days in Brazil as a tourist, then before that 90 days expired I went to the Federal Police in the Florianopolis airport to request another 90 days as an extension. I was with my Brazilian boyfriend as my translator. The guy there asked me for no particular reason for my stay. I just had to go to a specific website while I stood there with him to pay a fee. Then he stamped my passport for another 90 days to stay longer.
    I am persuing a more permanent visa category to stay even longer in Brazil but that seems to be a much more beaurocratic nightmare!

    • @HaveYourADVENTURE
      @HaveYourADVENTURE  Год назад +1

      Good job getting that extension. It is a lot easier for US citizens compared to EU citizens. For some reason they canceled that extension program for Europeans. We got an extension that one time, but just for exceptional reasons. What are your plans to make a longer stay in Brazil possible?

I am pursuing long term permanent residency now based in anticipated marriage to my boyfriend.
