Keep on going, you two will have the most satisfaction out of it when it’s all done. You will look back and say we did this. Can’t wait for the final product it’s going to be so cool.👍🏻
Hang in there Grasshopper Lol , the wait will be worth it in the end . You are doing great I think it is going to be amazing when you get it done and then you can say we done this and be proud of what you accomplished. Warmer days are coming🙂
Great job on the van build. And you have to take time off every now and then. Can't wait to see the finished product. Ride Safe
It will all be worth it. My Dad was “ that’s good enough “didn’t work with him. 5th grade education but he could do most anything Smartest man I ever knew.
Looking forward to the finished van. Keep on keeping on.
You got this, Brian.
Looking good buddy be safe out there your buddy from Oxford
My thought was also to trim off the top of the vent instead of trying to notch the underside of your flooring. Brian, dude you need a carpenter, but then again it is not the same satisfaction as doing it yourself. This is getting to be more of a "what NOT to do" video. I do admire your determination.
Unfortunately the vent needs to spin to direct the airflow. I was able to kind of chisel out the lid and I'll do the same to the flooring probably. I'll update this weekend probably.
I totally get where you're at- you've got over analysis paralysis or FOMO. You just want to make sure you are thinking everything out and placing everything in just the right places so you don't have regrets about the placement later. Stick with it! It is turning out really good and you know you are gonna love traveling in it when it's done. just think about relaxing outside the van at Sturgis later this year. It looks really great, and makes me want to get a van too!
Trim the vent. It doesn't need to rotate. Set it in a fixed position.
Unfortunately it does need to rotate. I trimmed the lid and it went well, gonna have to do the same with the floor but you shouldn't see it when it's done. I hope haha
Hey man! Your doing great! Love how you want your finished product right! Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Your on your way to everything being just right!👍
Brian! Hang in there!! You're doing amazing and each video comes with great progress! Looking forward to seeing the final results!
It's definitely starting to come together. Every project has its own "ugh, I have to do this before I can do that" scenario. It's starting to get warm here so I'm hoping to use my new AC soon 😎
Brian...let me give you some feel better info- you guys arent alone...my wife and I have been building a tiny shed/cabin for 7 years, yes thats right ....7 YEARS and we STILL arent finished! So I FEEL your pain....I have personally built 2 homes over my life( hired 70% of the labor) and they were WAY easier than this small off the cuff cabin! AS with you guys...there are MANY learning curves and designs/redesigns for almost the entire build ESPECIALLY the solar and electrical plus plumbing! BUT...the biggest culprit of it all was the room to work!!!! SMALL = PAIN, FRUSTRATION AND TIME!!!! Of course money did play into it as well....built out of pocket so limited on the cash each year and that hindered as well....BUT when you are done, and you will be one day....chalk it up to an ADVENTURE!!!! lol.....keep going you WILL WIN!!!! And the laughs will be with you guys forever...the pains will fade....at least most of them...LOL...Steve
Brain your perseverance is outstanding 👏👏 Keep pushing on mate
I’m starting to feel your stress & anxiety Brian. Keep grinding bud. It be done on time.
I know you will get it done just keep up the good work
Shoot some brad nails into the last piece you showed with the glue and tape. And Also I would consider putting a small piece of rubber between your aluminum framing and your water tanks because once you fill the tank it's going to expand and be rubbing on the aluminum framing. Other than that you're doing a fine job
For your 5/8 id hose , could you not use automotive heater hose? Flexible and rated for heat in case the relief pops.
I was thinking the same thing.
Ultimately I decided I wanted it to be potable in case I over filled the tank and water got up into the hose.
Damnit Brian.(response to the title)Tiny town reminds me of a Blackberry Smoke song
you're not stupid you only make some things harder than it should be, keep going buddy, almost done, great work 😎
Your pain is our entrainment 😅. Keep pushing. The van is looking good.
I don't mean anything negative by this but the last minute of this video had me thinking of a movie. It was called The Shining 🤣. Hang in there brother. God Bless
Looking good brian, keep going...cheers
Looking good 👍🏼
So much geometry 😵💫
While you are at it mine as well put in a wheel chair lift because by the time you finish it you are going to need it... 😂 Just busting your 🏀🏀
I’m not sure how much more of this van build I can handle!
You and me both!
@@LifeontheBlacktop😂
I have faith in you and your doing a great job keep it up 🤘
I love how Brian has given himself a date to finish.......and then didn't share the date 😂. A pin nailer would have made life a lot easier to hold that mitre while the glue was drying. kinda surprised you're using titebond II instead III, the III also sets up a bit quicker in colder temps.
Yeah that date has come and gone lol. New one set though! I went out and bought a brad nailer and a finish nailer after this. I don't have many wood tools and don't really want to buy some but the rest of my cabinet work is gonna need em. I used 2 on this cuz it sets up quicker. Mostly I've been using 3 for the water resistance. Welp, back to work so I don't miss another deadline lol.
your doing just fine bro, and you could of stood the 45 piece on edge after you glued it and put a strap around it to hold till dried
Brian, at least you are honest about it lol. Day 6 thousand working on the van. lol
👍👍👍
You can do it
Use another piece of tape to hold that miter together.
Hahaha as soon as I seen where you drilled the holes I thought I bet those are going to be too close to his framing. Bummer.....
16:57 😮 You know😅
😎👍
Cross drill it or peg it
keep going!!
You do know that you can sand the plastic on the vent to make that flush on the top and bottom
I could, but then I wouldn'tbe able to spin it to direct airflow different ways
Wouldn’t it been easier to Just buy a small motorhone
Probably but then I'd be stuck with an ugly motor home that cost more than I've got into this. Catch 22 lol
13:51 😷😷😎🤣🤘🏻🇺🇸
She muted part of that cuz I was running my mouth inappropriately lmao
@@LifeontheBlacktop that is hilarious 😂🤣🤘🏻🍻
Plus❤✌🏻😎🫵🏻👍🏻
No way dumb ideas?
I’m not a carpenter but I have learned that there really isn’t a wrong way to carpenter stuff
For your 5/8 id hose , could you not use automotive heater hose? Flexible and rated for heat in case the relief pops.
