Wow thank you so much I had a custom-made bed out of Arkansas that cost me $3,000 from James and James Furniture Company it was one issue after another with this bed and it was not a quality Craftsman bed like they said it was they also refused to send me out a new headboard considering all the issues with it such as defects with the headboards cracks crooked lines in the wood etcetera thank you so much for all your details I plan on going to the home store and buying what I need to stop this noise before I rip my hair out😂 thank you again for all your Intel God bless😊
Yay, squeaky bed fixed, saved myself heaps of money on a new bed. thankyou!!!
Leonie Van Eyk Excellent, glad the video helped and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
I need this for my parents not to hear me praying to Jesus whilst jumping on my bed as my bf is sleeping over! Happens all the time!
Same ! I be praying too hard
Seriously 🤣😉 tired of the floor 🤦🏽♀️
Amen 🙏
LMFOAOAOAOA can’t relate
Lmaoooooo😭
Thanks for this thorough video! This is exactly what I needed. I also appreciate the tip about the spray lube that doesn’t drip. Very handy. Just found your channel, and I’m so glad I did! I’ll be tuning in regularly to up my handywoman skills 💪🏻
Awesome! So glad to have you here! Good luck with the bed repairs, easy stuff!!
I had some clay weatherstrip cord laying around. Followed your directions and problem solved! Your the man. Thanks!
Felt was an awesome fix! Before watching the video, I was considering shifting the bracket closer and drilling new holes for the screws to have new meat to grab on to. I added the felt to both ends and used a rubber mallet to fully seat the side rail into the bracket inside the post. My wife thanks you !!
11 years of a squeaky bed and I'm about ready to replace it. This video gives me hope that I can sort it out!
Thank you!!! We bought a beautiful second hand four poster bed, and I was devastated when it squeaked with even the smallest adjustments. The felt did the trick! (We also lubricated the brackets, but I think the felt was what helped most.) So grateful to you, sir. And your boys are precious.
Thanks for the great idea using the felt pads! $5 install and 30 minutes just saved me $1,000 on a new bed 🙏 God bless you 🙌
soooooo, Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I haven't been able to sleep because of the squeaks so I took the legs off and that worked! But then the bed didn't look as elegant. So after sleeping without the bed legs for three years now, I decided to put the legs back on the bed and then looked on RUclips, found your video, just tightened the nuts and wow what a change! Now I'll be able to sleep with the elegant legs on the bed! Thank you for sharing!!!! Not gonna need Nyquil anymore! haha. God bless!
Fast forward to 11:25 to see Zim's kids jumping on the bed! Great! Nice fix on the bed too. Will try it this weekend!
Haha…Yeah, they were giving it the test!
Thank you so much. My bed was driving me mad and I was already looking to buy a new one. This trick (minus the lube as it is a different connector) worked wonders. Thanks again.
Had a squeaky bed problem. Tried the suggested solution. Worked like a champ. Hallelujah!!!
Thanks for the vid. I have a queen sized sleigh-bed that's making a lot of creaky noises on one side of the headboard . Last time I just sprayed with WD-40. It didn't last too long before being noisy again and smelled bad for a day or 2. The self adhesive felt and dry lube is a great idea. Cheers from Canada.
I don't typically give reviews, but this did the trick and I will defiantly sleep good tonight! Thank you for the post!
Used felt dots and it worked just as good. Thank you!
Thanks for your time going over all this, very helpful!
No problem, thank you
After buying a great condition king size wood bed frame with headboard, footboard and rails from a friend, I found that it squeaks a lot every time got in and out of bed, or turning over at night. Drove me crazy!!! Decided to search for a fix and first video was this one. As soon as I finished watching I headed to Home Depot. Amazingly and thanks to you, all the squeaking was gone. There’s this one corner on the side I get in bed on that still squeaks a little, but nothing like it was. I can deal with it. Loved video, wasn’t hard to follow and it works!! Boys did great job testing out dads work...lol!! Great video, great work!!!
This video is 100% perfect for what I've got to do this afternoon - well done and thanks so much.
Thank you!!
Good results on bed frame reinforcement. Summary of project in video very helpful. Bravo.
Great video. Straightforward, easy to follow. Hopefully I can accomplish this by myself and eliminate the grimacing when I climb into bed. Thanks!
Cynthia Earl Couple months later and the repairs are holding up well...still no noises. Good luck with yours!
Life saver! My bed is keeping me up right now. Every time I turn all I here is squeaking noises. Currently 4:44am, doing this today morning.
Maynee Yes, that's absolutely miserable when you can't sleep from the noise. Good luck with the repairs!
Can confirm it’s just about 4:58am, here and my squeaking is keeping tha neighbors up
Josh IU I’ve been looking over your profile
Soran Zaynab for what?
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, very kind of you.
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!! Your video is really helpful. God bless you sir!
Gonna give this a go on my bed tonight. Thanks for this mate. My dad isn’t around to teach me this stuff, but I can always find a stand in on RUclips lmao. Appreciate it though, seriously.
ohhhh yesss this totally worked. you saved me so much! The bed in my moms house was so loud and squeaky could not sleep at all and this method totally fixed it. Bless you Fix IT WIth Zim thanks so much for creating this video and sharing.
4 years later and still holding up strong with no squeaks! Check the description for items I used in this video.
PB Blaster Dry Lube: amzn.to/2pLakR2

Its a legit problem but I'm lmao 🤣
Guerrero3546 LOL yup!
This quick fix was worth it! Thank you!
Zim, you are freakin' genius! Amazingly handy, your wife shouldn't let you get away, lol. I honestly think the bed is kind of cool looking. Your kids are adorable too.
This worked - thank you so much. I'm a very light sleeper and was waking up every time myself or hubby moved. Slept great last night!!! 😁
You’re welcome. It is a terrible problem, I’m glad you got it fixed 👍🏻😉
Thank you so much ! I just did it and it works !! Great video ! Under $10 fix !! 🙌🏾
Nice work. Nice video. Straight to the point. I like it.
SleepyStud thanks for the comment!
Awesome video, very informative and you walk through every step for newbies.
Thank you!!
Great vid. Have almost same bed and exact same problem since year 1 of ownership. I've temporarily quitened it twice by slipping folds of electrical tape between the rail ends and legs w sticky side toward rail end, but it always works back out and now is worse than ever. Was looking for a better solution and came across your video. Gonna try the felt and dry lube, along w another tip of using beeswax at any points where bare wood makes contact even if able to make the wood on wood conecrion tight.
Thank you
Worked for me. Home Depot didn't have the strips, they had rectangle pads. $4.37 cents. Scissors and 1.25 pads total on the part where it was making the most noise. This made for an opportunity to drill new holes because it moved them a bit. The old holes were likely part of the problem because the wood was stripped a bit on the old holes. 10 out 10 for this video!
My goodness, this is something that should be all over the interview regarding preserving bed frames, especially wooden.
Thank you so much for the video. Best fix it advice ever on RUclips!😀
Lee Ann Jennings Thank you!
The fact that this is 6 years old a help me in 2023 is amazing
Thank you for a great video I tried it and it really worked. I didn't realize how much the squeaky bed was keeping me up.🥳😴😴😴
Exactly what I needed, thanks for the great tutorial!
You’re welcome!
Well done, thanks all the way from Ireland.
Nice job. Mine has been squeaking like this as well. I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow for some felt pad strips.

Great to hear!

Great suggestions, they worked for me. Thank you
You’re welcome!
mate you are a god send or a life saver for months this was driving me nuts just one of the wooden frames always squeaked i even replaced the entire wood still no luck tried this fixed it like a charm unbelievable cant believe this worked thank you so much such a easy fix as well wish i didnt throw away the old piece of wood cut it all to size and all :(
Great, happy to hear this helped you! Thanks for leaving a comment!
Great video. I am about to do this to my bed this weekend. I was thinking of the adhesive foam & lubing the metal hooks. I appreciated being able to watch you go through it step by step. & the dry lube! going to get that stuff for sure. I was thinking wd40 but I also was worried about it being a mess and staining things. thanks for the helpful video.
yorkandpomona Yes, the dry lube works great! Good luck with your repairs and thanks for the comment.
very helpful, thank you!
Friction tape works as well as felt strips and doesn’t leave so much wiggle room like the thick felt. If you have creaky wood pegs (with IKEA brackets), a touch of wood glue or lube works to quiet those down.
Good work on the video :) Thanks!
Hi
thanks for the ideas.
Thank you. Haven't tried it, but I believe this will solve the squeak.
This helped me thanks❤
Thank you for this video.
Bro great video! I'll finally be able to get some sleep!
Awesome video mate. Gonna try this tomorrow
Thank you...good luck with the repairs!
@@fixitwithzim I JUST GOT DONE AND IT WORKED AMAZING! Now I do have storage drawers and they make the slightest noise as well as the box spring but I would say this eliminated about 90% of the speaking from my bed!!!!! Thank you so much!
@@RoyaleWitCheese04 awesome, glad it worked for you!
Another tip is to use the floor protectors used for other furniture in between the supporting wood frames to reduce the squeeking.
And if that does not work you can also LOOSEN the nuts/bolts used to fix the wood frame.
It seems to work for me the second time.
My thought was to put felt in on my squeaky bed, but I wanted to check to see if someone has fixed a squeak and low and behold you popped up!
Great video
To the point
No need to see you struggling with the mattress. I'll check out your channel again.
Stephen Bochicchio Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the late reply back
Thank you!! Loved it!!
Thank you!
Helped alot man thanks!
Thanks for the tips. We went and got the felt and it solved the problem
Joe Beecher Great, glad it helped!
Thank you...saved me a lot of trial and error!
You’re welcome!
Helpful video…now I just need to try your idea…makes sense so hopefully it will work out well :)..have a great day
Thanks Zim,
I bought a new bed frame and is Identical to your style so I hope it works pretty crazy how they will sell something that will immediately squeak.
Yes, it’s a terrible design flaw. Shame to hear it’s still manufactured like this.
Good job sir👍🏻
thank you so much! We fixed our bed 2 days ago and I sleep much better now!
You’re welcome!! That’s great to hear!
Thanks a lot buddy, you solved a big joint family problem of ours, i hope i can get rid of this freaking irritating problem. Thanks
Ohh man, I hear you. Your comment brought back bad memories of this annoying problem. Good luck with the repairs. It should work great!
I use PB Blaster penetrating, but never seen the dry lube! I am going to try that. That seems much better for the home as you stated. Good video! Keep up the great work.
Josh Ferguson Thanks for the comment. I really like PB Blaster's line of products. Good quality.
zimsjeep I replaced the bed slats with a couple sheets of 3/4 plywood and this helped some on our bed. Our posts are old and there is a lot of play where the bracket fits in it. I wish there was a good way to resolve this. I am going to try the PB dry lube to see if it helps! I imagine the posts will need replaced, purchase a new bed or deal either the squeaking at this point on ours.
Josh Ferguson The plywood seems like a good fix. Have to remember that. Good luck fixing yours. If you find any other solutions, post an update.
I had the exact same issue, thanks for the detailed video....worked as you mentioned.....A++++++
Great!!
Boom !! Awesome EZ fix!! Great detail, great camera shots - thanks!
Same bed, same problem, thank you. :)

Excellent! Nice work, hope you’re enjoying it!
@@fixitwithzim it’s the little things in life! I am so proud of myself and feel so dumb that I let it squeak for as long as I did!! This divorced mom got it handled!!
@@teresabierbaum6345 haha, good for you! I let mine go forever too. What a shame, countless hours of sleep wasted. Ambitious job, especially wrestling those mattresses on your own! You should be proud!
Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling for 3 days sleeping on the floor lol
