    Felt was an awesome fix! Before watching the video, I was considering shifting the bracket closer and drilling new holes for the screws to have new meat to grab on to. I added the felt to both ends and used a rubber mallet to fully seat the side rail into the bracket inside the post. My wife thanks you !!

    soooooo, Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I haven't been able to sleep because of the squeaks so I took the legs off and that worked! But then the bed didn't look as elegant. So after sleeping without the bed legs for three years now, I decided to put the legs back on the bed and then looked on RUclips, found your video, just tightened the nuts and wow what a change! Now I'll be able to sleep with the elegant legs on the bed! Thank you for sharing!!!! Not gonna need Nyquil anymore! haha. God bless!

    Thanks for the vid. I have a queen sized sleigh-bed that's making a lot of creaky noises on one side of the headboard . Last time I just sprayed with WD-40. It didn't last too long before being noisy again and smelled bad for a day or 2. The self adhesive felt and dry lube is a great idea. Cheers from Canada.

    After buying a great condition king size wood bed frame with headboard, footboard and rails from a friend, I found that it squeaks a lot every time got in and out of bed, or turning over at night. Drove me crazy!!! Decided to search for a fix and first video was this one. As soon as I finished watching I headed to Home Depot. Amazingly and thanks to you, all the squeaking was gone. There’s this one corner on the side I get in bed on that still squeaks a little, but nothing like it was. I can deal with it. Loved video, wasn’t hard to follow and it works!! Boys did great job testing out dads work...lol!! Great video, great work!!!

    Great vid. Have almost same bed and exact same problem since year 1 of ownership. I've temporarily quitened it twice by slipping folds of electrical tape between the rail ends and legs w sticky side toward rail end, but it always works back out and now is worse than ever. Was looking for a better solution and came across your video. Gonna try the felt and dry lube, along w another tip of using beeswax at any points where bare wood makes contact even if able to make the wood on wood conecrion tight.
    Thank you

  • @JohnJHyde1
    @JohnJHyde1 Год назад +1

    Worked for me. Home Depot didn't have the strips, they had rectangle pads. $4.37 cents. Scissors and 1.25 pads total on the part where it was making the most noise. This made for an opportunity to drill new holes because it moved them a bit. The old holes were likely part of the problem because the wood was stripped a bit on the old holes. 10 out 10 for this video!

    Friction tape works as well as felt strips and doesn’t leave so much wiggle room like the thick felt. If you have creaky wood pegs (with IKEA brackets), a touch of wood glue or lube works to quiet those down.

    Another tip is to use the floor protectors used for other furniture in between the supporting wood frames to reduce the squeeking.
    And if that does not work you can also LOOSEN the nuts/bolts used to fix the wood frame.
