There’s nothing quite like panto - we always went to see our local one in primary school but once we were in secondary they stopped taking us so my mum, sister and I have a tradition of going to see it every year and it’s always brilliant. It’s such a high-energy type of show as well; bloody impressive that you did 13 shows a week while pregnant!
Panto is just such a special environment to be in. Im OBSESSED with meanest one of all-such a banger! Hopefully there’s more pantos! I’m glad I gave into my impulse decisions. Let me tell you, there’s not many people who I would wake up for at 4.50am to get a 3.5 hour train to see a panto, nor a 10 hour round trip driving to go again, but you know what. I would do it again. I hope everything goes well with peanut and you’re feeling okay. Look after yourself♥️

Every pregnant woman I've ever known always talks about being out of breath really easily so I wondered how that affected your singing and acting and if you'd had to make any changes to how you do things to accommodate it.

Came to see you on the second Saturday, you and everyone were amazing! Our first Panto as a family and we loved every second and have already booked to go back. He's so much fun! Surprisingly it wasn't as exhausting as I expected. The hardest part was the beginning, the rehearsals and tech as well as dealing with new pregnancy symptoms that came on all of a sudden but past that, I was okay!
Carrie! I urge you to look into a company called 'outlery'- they are great for on the go eating and its buildable metal cutlery. I have a set that I use at work as it saves carrying full size cutlery. It isn't cheap but so worth the money! Saves on using those rubbish wooden ones and avoiding single use plastic ones 💜

would definitely recommend doing a bit of research beforehand into pantomime traditions (e.g. boo/hiss whenever the villain walks on, shouting "oh no you're not/oh yes you are" and "it's behind you!")... you might be a bit confused otherwise 😂 but you'd have such a fun time!
My son had those porridge bowls at a service station on the way to visit family at Christmas! He was raging at the crap spoon. So porridge became finger food!!

My uni had a takeaway soup and panini offer at one of the cafes and they had those wooden spoon for about a month before the started have normal plastic spoon (they might have been bioplastic I don’t know). Eating porridge is bad enough but trying to eat tomato soup was a recipe for madness.

Stuck in Panto !!! For goodness sake,give Carrie a break. Her first child is due to arrive towards the end of next month.Maternity leave is normal and then Carrie can find “whatever she wants “ that fits her family’s lifestyle when it suits her. Nothing wrong with being in Pantomime .
If you look at panto casting around the UK, you'll see that actors and singers of all kinds do panto! Panto as a whole must be one of the biggest theatre employers, and it's a really important tradition for many people. And last year Carrie did her first solo tour and is doing another one in 2024, plus lots of other jobs, and is now on maternity leave. So no need to worry about her career!
Panto has a stigma for sure. Lots of people think it’s where you go when you’re a “has been” and your career goes to die. However, in my opinion, the popularity of the yearly Palladium Panto has reinvigorated the demand across the UK! And…if I’m completely honest, financially actors can do very well from Panto which is why you’ll often find some actors do nothing BUT Panto once a year! With all that being said, coming off the back of my own solo UK tour this summer, then a west end play into Panto this Christmas, with a baby on the way in a matter of weeks, another solo tour at the end of the year and a big job booked for 2025 already…you don’t need to worry about me! 😘

Is it just me, and trying to say this in the nicest way possible, since she did panto last year she hasn't booked any other big shows? I really hope this isn't the end of her career where she is stuck doing panto. 😢

Her first child is due to arrive towards the end of next month.Maternity leave is normal and then Carrie can find “whatever she wants “ that fits her family’s lifestyle when it suits her.

If you look at panto casting around the UK, you'll see that actors and singers of all kinds do panto! Panto as a whole must be one of the biggest theatre employers, and it's a really important tradition for many people.
And last year Carrie did her first solo tour and is doing another one in 2024, plus lots of other jobs, and is now on maternity leave. So no need to worry about her career!
Panto has a stigma for sure. Lots of people think it’s where you go when you’re a “has been” and your career goes to die. However, in my opinion, the popularity of the yearly Palladium Panto has reinvigorated the demand across the UK! And…if I’m completely honest, financially actors can do very well from Panto which is why you’ll often find some actors do nothing BUT Panto once a year!
With all that being said, coming off the back of my own solo UK tour this summer, then a west end play into Panto this Christmas, with a baby on the way in a matter of weeks, another solo tour at the end of the year and a big job booked for 2025 already…you don’t need to worry about me! 😘
