Straight to the point is like reading a dull manual, adding some extra talking makes this a human talking to human. Suppose that if you wanted the straight to the point, use a reader application on your computer that will read outloud to you from selected text.
So we are a construction company and we would like our employees to take pictures of their receipts so that we can bill it to that specific job. But we don't want them to be able to see all of our banking information... How would we do this?
Hi Hector, I just started using the receipts section today. One problem that I keep encountering is that after I upload a receipt and enter the receipt details, it then takes me to the page to match it with an existing expense. I've noticed that when I match it with an existing expense, none of the receipt details transfer over, which is frustrating since I'm updating the receipt details with the correct Payee, Category, and Customer information, but it only saves the original Expense info. Any advice as to what to do in these situations? I already talked to a QBO rep and she said I either have to delete the existing expense and then create a New Expense with the receipt, or match the two and then go into the categorized Expense and edit the information-both of which are inefficient and create an extra step. Please help!
my clients just upload the receipts w/o any classifying. then I use the receipt feature you'll see on the banking tab.. all the receipts are there where you expand each one, classify and post.. then you will match to the correct feed item and QBO will attach to the expense you matched it with

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was so helpful! I got so confused when they changed everything to the desktop. Before I could swipe L or R on my android to organize and then to their credit its been many months. But then I was getting ready to start organizing and was STOPPED in my tracks...lol!
Question - I notice that when I match the receipt to an existing expense, it doesn't show up as an attachment. But if I add a receipt and create the expense from the receipt... then it does show as an attachment. Are both methods fine since the receipt is still "matched" to the expense in the first scenario, but doesn't show up as an attachment?

Strangely, I have a problem with this feature. So imagine, the transaction from the bank account was automatically pulled, my bookkeeper has categorized it. And now when a snap receipt it doesn't find that transaction to match despite it read the entire receipt correctly. And I also can find that transaction in my books manually or by searching it but the snap a receipt feature doesn't find a match. Quickbooks is the best system I agree but it's not functioning as promised for sure. This feature would be helpful to us since we have hundreds of receipts on a daily basis, but it simply doesn't work. To be more precise it finds the match only 1/10th of the receipts.
Hey Hector, great video (again!) quick question: Is there a way to run a report to see which expenses don't have receipts? I want to get everything in QBO so I can trash all the paper
No report but under accounting go to chart of accounts hit the settings then go turn on receipts and you should see which receipts are missing or attached I think you can export an excel spreadsheet

Thank you. Is there a way to change the currency on the receipts scanned? We pay some vendors with lempira (Honduras currency) and then we have receipts in USD. How do I get the app to recognize the difference? Or, how do I edit the currency once on my online quickbook account?

Hector, thank you for the explanation. I was glad to see that the receipt itself is actually captured, when done as a receipt. WHAT DO YOU DO, when the charge, as a business receipt is issued by the establishment and then you add a tip and get a credit card transaction receipt that shows the tip??
How would I go about only putting in partial costs from the receipt For example If I have a service based business and got gas and cigarettes And want to subtract cigs from receipt

Hello Hector! I've been using this feature without issue but recently, the "expense" option disappeared from the drop down menu and I can only select "bill" or "receipt." What am I doing wrong? If I select receipt, the company shows up in my customer list as if they owe me money. I can't figure out how to categorize receipts correctly again. Please help! Thank you!
Hiii I have a question that I have one receipt subtotal is 47.50, HST 15% 7.13 total comes 54.63 I paid in cash When I put receipt on quickbook they don’t show tax theys shows tax amount on XYZ company but I want tax amount with description as tax HST 15%

When your receipts are not being read or matched but the transaction already occurred how do you attach the receipt?

There is no reimbursement workflow. You need to create a manual bill

No, that would be a great report

Aloha, I am self employed and started quickbooks online but how upgrade cell phone app service, which plan is included that service?
All QBO accounts use the cellphone app
