8:44 that’s true we don’t live in big family units or tribes no more so we all alone so we go to therapists now. Pain to purpose?
    11:08 battle of Uhud
    13:03 surah Al Imran

I felt a deep wound/pain in my heart since 1995, a feeling surfaced in my teenage years.
A trauma (sadma) feeling of sadness, broken heart, terror, panic and grief.
No one can be aware of it save me. It seems very old, but I had no clue what kind of sadma/trauma I am carrying with me.
It was needed to be felt, validated, comforted, acknowledged, grieved, assured. Like someone noticed it and comforted it with hopes and a word that all will be OK.
But it took me 30 years to realize to do this completion process for trauma feelings.
    Why?
Because it was a preverbal trauma (that I identified later with deeper work on my psyche/emotions).
No memory associated with it, only feelings, very deep feeling of sadness. A psychiatrist will diagnose it as a classical depression, linking symptoms with only brain.
But what if the body felt a trauma when it was infant and stored in its nervous system for time being to protect infant, till body has resources to process it.
Without any medicines the feeling of depression were cured for me when I realized and accepted my childhood trauma and comforted it like how it needs to be comforted in the present moment.
Like body, nafs is also a reality. The emotions and feelings are connected to your nafs/psyche. If stuck emotions and feelings are there it will affect you psyche your personality your feeling state.
The remedy for these stuck feelings is to feel them fully and process it, what is called the healing of childhood PTSD.
It is not a new thing or unknown thing this is how we process trauma. When tragedy stuck, we share our feeling, grieve, all relative closed ones support us in this journey, faith and spirituality also helps a lot.
In my opinion the Quran calls itself shifa for sudoor because it heals our trauma, by addressing our deep stuck feelings and reassuring them that in the end all will be OK. See surah Duha.
But for people stuck in sad feeling for very long time, taking help from trauma healing therapy should be encouraged along with all duas, Quran recitation and regular prayers you can do.
