I lived in Memphis from 2013-2016. I walked around quite a bit where I lived in Midtown, and also a little bit in Downtown. Honestly, I could have lived without a car if hadn’t needed it to get to work. There’s absolutely no way in Hell I would have walked around the part of town where I worked, and it wasn’t even one of the really bad parts of town. As far as the song is concerned “I saw the ghost of Elvis on Union Ave. and followed him down to gates of Graceland” is definitely not a walk I would be taking. I didn’t even particularly like to drive around Graceland.
Be careful when walking in Memphis, especially at night. "In 2023, Memphis had the highest homicides in its history, 397 homicides were recorded." (Source, Wikipedia)
@@guitarjonathan I lived there for three years (2013-2016). It makes a huge difference where you are walking. I lived in Midtown close to Overton Square and Overton Park and a real cool guitar shop (Martin Music). I had a lot of fun and saved a lot of gas money walking in Memphis.
Hard to judge: this is neither a live version, nor a studio recording. Congratulations! You have captured the worst aspects of the "live session" genre. The words are important, they were intended to be intelligible. Which they are in Cher's cover, of course.
Great work, Jonathan! The Gretsch sounds great, too.
"Gig NIght" - very nice!

Thinking about it, you should have recorded the vocal track separately, and had it more prominent in the mix.
This is exactly what I thought it was gonna sound like..lol..
I appreciate the effort here, but it just falls way short to me. Just my opinion... I could be wrong
Yeah I like the casino guys, but the tempo and the way he is singing doesn’t really fit the song imo.

Alright! Jon, Joe and Rob!
First time hearing him sing. Kinda a southern Adam Duritz. Maybe it's just me.
I’ll take that! Love Adam Duritz.
Thats some Go-Jo there.
So i says to Mabel I says, It ain't for everyone some get it and some don't .... like gretsch guitars .
its a bug you catch.
Great!
Nicely done!!
